The Elder Scrolls Online v2.6.2 is an incremental patch on the PTS that includes several new features and addresses several issues. We've enabled Crown Crates for testing, in addition to turning on the New Life Festival for a short time. We've also made many itemization-related fixes and addressed numerous issues in dungeons and Craglorn. Improvements are ongoing with several Weapon Ultimates, and we also fixed a longstanding issue where your character's movement speed had decreased in a previous update.

All European characters have been copied from the PC/Mac Live megaservers, and will be available for the duration of this testing cycle.

We appreciate all the feedback and bug reports that have been submitted so far, and hope you enjoy this latest patch which is approximately 180MB in size.

New Features / Updates / Big Changes[edit]

Crown Crates[edit]

Crown Crates are now available to test on the PTS!

  • Crown Crates can be purchased in the Crown Store for 400 crowns.
  • These Crates contain a randomized selection of useful consumables, and offer a chance to obtain rare and unique cosmetic items or mounts.
  • In the event you receive a mount, pet, costume or personality that you already own, you'll be awarded Crown Gems in its place.
    • Crown Gems can be used to purchase other collectible items found in Crown Crates.
    • These can be redeemed in the Crown Store under the Crown Crates category.
  • Crown Crates will be available on the Live megaservers later this year.

New Life Festival (9/21-9/28)[edit]

Visit the pavilion outside of Windhelm to participate in testing the events for the New Life Festival!

  • To begin, you can either travel directly to the Windhelm pavilion, or obtain the quest scroll via the Crown Store.
  • Enjoying a drink from the keg at the pavilion will award you with a double XP bonus for 2 hours.
    • Note: Indulging in another drink will simply refresh the XP buff.
  • There are nine daily quests associated with this event themed for each of the Tamrielic race's celebrations of New Life.
    • You can obtain each quest from Breda, located at the pavilion in Windhelm.
  • The quests grant various different rewards including new mementos, recipes, consumables, motifs, achievements, and even a hat!

Equipment Bonus Indicator[edit]

Added an indicator to your Character window that shows how effective your equipment is at your current level. Higher level and quality equipment will provide a larger bonus. Equipment with traits, enchantments, and/or item set bonuses will also provide a larger bonus.

Undaunted Plunder[edit]

We've heard your feedback regarding the inability to make money by running Veteran Trials, and added Undaunted Plunder to the Veteran mode of all Trials.

  • By defeating bosses in the Veteran-mode Trials, you'll earn Undaunted Plunder – valuable items that can be sold to merchants for 1000 gold each.
  • Each boss you defeat will drop an increased amount of Undaunted Plunder that you can sell.
  • We're continuing to keep an eye on these rewards, and will continue to adjust them as needed.

Template Updates[edit]

  • We've updated the Crafter's Limitless Library, a PTS-only item. It now contains the Celestial and Draugr style books, if you have not learned those styles from some other source. We've also removed the Morag Tong style book from it, as that Motif isn't actually available for crafting in the game. (Yet.)
  • Fixed an issue where the PTS template bags did not contain jewelry for the Celestial Trial sets (Berserking Warrior, Defending Warrior, etc.)

  • When a duel is over, the stats in your character window will still display with the Battle Spirit buff. This is only a UI display error, and you do not actually have the buff.

  • Increased the quality of the reward for the quest “Blood on a King's Hands” to Blue from Green.
  • Fixed an issue where the Curator's List of Sought-After Relics was displaying a required level of 1. This was pointless, so we removed the tooltip.

    • Blocking the charge portion of a Xit-Xaht Sludge-Slinger's Feral Blitz when your character lacks the proper stamina to fully block will no longer cause the Xit-Xaht Sludge-Slinger to stagger before continuing the charge.
    • Blocking the charge portion of Xal-Nur's Monstrous Blitz when your character lacks the proper stamina to fully block will no longer cause Xal-Nur to stagger before continuing his charge.

Alliance War & PvP[edit]

General

  • Keep walls can no longer be repaired when between 95% and 100% health while under attack.
  • Increased the experience gained in Cyrodiil from monsters, players, and quests by 25%. Experience gained in Cyrodiil Delves, Imperial City, and Imperial Sewers remains unchanged.
  • Removed a stray markup character from Adhazabi Aba-daro's title. She is no longer The Golden^T, but instead The Golden, because nobody enjoys carrot tea.

Dueling

  • Completing the "Master Duelist" achievement by winning 100 duels now grants the "Duelist" title.

Itemization

  • Fixed an invisible heavy sack outside of Red Ruby Cave.
  • Adjusted the offerings of certain Chefs and Brewers in Cyrodiil to ensure they all correctly scale to your level.

Art & Animation[edit]

General

  • If your character dies from falling while on a mount, other players will now see the proper animation.

Figure

  • Made some minor improvements to the graphical quality of several facial masks.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the face mask from the Outlaw Motif helm not to appear.
  • Fixed an issue for male player characters that was causing distortion on the Alliance Rider outfit while riding a mount.
  • The back of female Argonian heads will no longer clip through the Winterborn Shaman's and Winterborn Warrior's costumes.
  • The face mask from the Abah's Watch Turban with Mask is now the same color as the head wrap.

Combat & Gameplay[edit]

General

  • Fixed an issue where your character's movement speed was 10% slower when your weapons were unsheathed.

Dragonknight

  • Ardent Flame
    • Flame Lash (Lava Whip morph): Fixed an issue where this morph's follow-up attack (Power Lash) was granting crowd control immunity even though it did not crowd control them to begin with.
    • Venomous Claw (Searing Strike morph): Fixed an issue where the damage over time did not increment in damage if multiple Dragonknights cast the same rank of this morph on the same target.

Sorcerer

  • Daedric Summoning
    • Daedric Curse: The damage done to the primary target can no longer be blocked for this ability and its morphs. The area of effect damage to all secondary targets can still be blocked.

Weapon Bow

    • Ballista (Rapid Fire morph):
      • Increased the duration of this morph by 1.1 seconds (and now ticks an additional 3 times), but its damage per tick has been reduced by roughly 25%. Total damage should remain relatively unchanged, but burst damage from this morph should be lowered as a result.
      • Fixed an issue with this morph where the arrows fired from the turret were ignoring line of sight.
    • Poison Injection (Poison Arrow morph): Fixed an issue where this morph's bonus damage to low-health targets was applying to equipped Poisons and the Poisoned status effect.
    • Rapid Fire: Fixed an issue where the channeling attack from this ability and its morphs could be purged.
    • Toxic Barrage (Rapid Fire morph): This morph now always applies the additional poison damage over time effect, even if the channel ends early.
  • Destruction Staff
    • Elemental Rage (Elemental Storm morph):
      • Fixed an issue where the Icy Rage morph variant was immobilizing targets hit for 7 seconds instead of the intended 3 seconds.
      • Fixed an issue where the Thunderous Rage morph variant had a 12 meter radius instead of the intended 10 meter radius.
      • Elemental Storm: Increased the duration of this ability and its morphs by 1 second, resulting in 1 extra tick of damage.
    • Penetrating Magic: Fixed an issue where this passive ability's Spell Penetration bonus was not applying to Wall of Elements or Elemental Storm.
    • Tri Focus: Reverted the bug fix that caused Shock Heavy Attacks to not splash damage to nearby enemies during the entire channeled attack. The tooltip of Tri Focus has been updated to reflect this change.
  • Restoration Staff
    • Life Giver (Panacea morph): Fixed an issue where this morph's heal was not being increased by the Restoration Master passive ability.
    • Panacea: Reduced the cost of this ability and its morphs to 100 Ultimate from 125 Ultimate.

World

  • Legerdemain
    • Improved Hiding: Fixed an issue where skill points spent in this passive ability were being removed.

Boss Monster Abilities

  • Caecilia Attius, Bangkorai
    • This boss will now attack you more aggressively.
  • Menhir Stoneskin, Rivenspire
    • This boss will now properly turn his last wave of statues to life.
  • Salazar the Wolf, Glenumbra
    • All three werewolves now contribute to the boss health bar that replaces the compass while in the vicinity.
  • Skullbreaker, Malabal Tor
    • Ground Slam can no longer strike any one target faster than once per half second.
    • Ground Slam now correctly threatens melee player characters.
    • Skullbreaker's passive combat regeneration has been halved.

Crafting & Economy[edit]

General

  • The minimum bid and the buyout price for a Guild Trader with no bids have been increased to 10,000 gold from 100 gold.

Alchemy

  • Fixed an issue that caused poisons to scale their duration based on your target's level, instead of your own level.
  • Corrected the name of the active effect for Poisons of Ravage Health to “Ravage Health” instead of “Drain Health”.
  • Added icons to several negative active effects that could appear on crafted potions, which did not previously have their own icons.
  • Clarified the names of several reagent traits.
    • Lower Spell Resist is now Lower Spell Resistance
    • Lower Armor is now Lower Physical Resistance
    • Spell Crit is now Spell Critical
    • Weapon Crit is now Weapon Critical

Motifs

  • Doubled the drop rate of Draugr Style chapters from Fighters Guild Merits, Mages Guild Merits, and Undaunted Merits containers for players at the highest possible rank for that guild (Rank 10 for the Fighters Guild and the Mages Guild, Rank 9 for the Undaunted.)
  • Fixed an issue where the Draugr Style's full Motif book did not correctly grant the crafting style.
  • Fixed an issue that caused items in the Draugr and Skinchanger styles to appear Breton in appearance. This affected items crafted in either style, as well as items that dropped in either style.

Survey Reports

  • Survey Reports now drop half as often from Crafting Writs, but rich nodes at survey sites now provide twice as many materials as they did previously. This should result in roughly the same amount of materials from Survey Reports overall, but each individual report is now more lucrative.
  • Survey Reports are no longer unique items, and now stack to 200. Only one Survey Report will be used each time you approach and harvest the associated survey report site.

Crown Store[edit]

  • Added preview support for large bundles in the Crown Store. You can now preview the contents of the "Cosmetic Pack: Hair Styles" bundle.
  • Fixed an issue where buying a bundle that contained Service Tokens was not giving you the option to go back to Character Select.

  • Banished Cells I
    • Additional monsters during the Cell Haunt no longer grant loot or experience.
    • Additional monsters associated with Angata the Clannfear Handler no longer reset when she does.
  • Blackheart Haven
    • The Daedroth Tooth Necklace, dropped by Hollow Heart, will now consistently drop at the correct level and quality.
  • City of Ash II
    • Fixed an issue that caused Valkyn Skoria to drop loot intended for the Cradle of Shadows dungeon, and fail to drop her unique item, Skoria's Charred Claymore.
  • Crypt of Hearts I
    • Dogas the Berseker and The Mage Master will no longer respawn once they have been defeated.
    • Uulkar Bonehand will no longer endlessly pursue cowardly players.
  • Crypt of Hearts II
    • You will once again receive credit for completing the optional step of the Undaunted Pledge for Crypt of Hearts II.
    • The encounter will no longer reset if your character dies after Ibelgast is defeated.
    • Ibelgast's minions will now always attack you once he has been engaged on Normal difficulty.
    • Mezeluth will now reset if you venture too far from her.
    • The Ilambris twins will now reset should either twin be pulled too far away.
  • Darkshade Caverns I
    • The Centurion Spiders in the Sentinel of Rkugamz fight now properly reset with the boss.
    • The Sentinel of Rkugamz will no longer immediately aggro player characters after a wipe.
  • Darkshade Caverns II
    • The Fallen Foreman will no longer endlessly pursue cowardly players.
    • The Transmuted Alit and Grobull will no longer appear to share a single health bar.
  • Elden Hollow I
    • The Undaunted Pledge will now correctly lead you to the Scroll of Glorious Battle in order to activate Hard Mode.
  • Elden Hollow II
    • Dubroze the Infestor and Dark Root will no longer endlessly pursue cowardly players.
  • Fungal Grotto I
    • War Chief Ozozai's Staggering War ability now displays the correct Icon.

    • Mad Mortine will no longer allow her minions to be attacked without attempting to assist them.
    • You will no longer be able to complete the optional Hard Mode (two keys) version of the Undaunted Pledge without the dungeon being on Veteran difficulty.
    • Praxin Douare now displays a boss health bar during the fight.
    • The order of objectives in the Undaunted Pledge now matches the order in which the objectives are encountered.
    • Fixed an issue where you could become stuck in the rocks during the fight with Blood Spawn.
    • Blood Spawn's Vicious Claws ability will now display its knockdown effect properly.
    • Vorenor Winterbourne's Blood Pool ability now displays the correct icon in the Death Recap UI.
  • Tempest Island

Exploration & Itemization[edit]

General

  • The Mages Guild daily chests containing Sheogorath's miscellany are now correctly specific to their locations.
  • Fixed an issue where Ornate items found in the Fighters Guild Merits, Mages Guild Merits, and Undaunted Merits containers were not scaling past level 50.
  • Fixed an issue where items found in certain types of furniture, such as dressers, would not scale to your level correctly after level 50.
  • Fixed an issue where some Orcish Leatherworkers would not sell items for certain equipment slots. They've been re-issued the missive that merchants in One Tamriel must provide all slots at all levels, and they promise they've actually read it this time.
  • Updated the remaining sources of non-Grand Soul Gems so that only Grand Soul Gems are sourced going forward.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed poisons to sometimes drop in the world prior to reaching level 15.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented delve bosses from providing the correct potions prior to reaching level 15.
  • Adjusted the loot received from many bosses around Craglorn so they now drop the correct type and level of items.
  • Fixed an issue where the Cursed Chest event in Skyreach Catacombs in Craglorn was awarding out-of-date loot. It will now drop loot more akin to a high-quality treasure chest in One Tamriel.
  • Fixed an issue that caused wasp nests in Craglorn to drop level 50 grey items, even if you were not yet level 50.
  • Fixed an issue that caused certain CP150 equipment containers purchased from merchants to award CP140 items.

Achievements

  • Arx Corinium Conqueror: This achievement will now properly update after killing the Fanged Menace and the Ancient Lurcher.
  • Banished Cells I Conqueror: This achievement will now update properly after killing High Kinlord Rilis on Veteran mode.
  • Coronation of Fire: This Blessed Crucible achievement will now correctly be awarded in Veteran difficulty when Hard Mode is activated.
  • Craglorn Completist: Fixed an issue that prevented this achievement from correctly tracking quest completion.
  • They Were Just Rusty: This Volenfell achievement will now grant credit when the conditions are met.

Eidetic Memory

  • Further fixes were made to books reported as missing, broken, or locked off.
    • In some cases, existing "post-quest" versions of the books were simply not close enough to their quest finisher or in logical places. These have since been relocated.
    • Fixed a number of books that had poor visibility or could not be interacted with.
    • Adjusted some books so they could be detectable in all cases.
    • Some books behind doors that were sealed after a certain point (such as the books in the homes on Bleakrock Isle) are now available as the requirements for entering the doors were taken off.
    • Note: Books that are still in accessible locations after their associated quest is completed were NOT moved or given new copies. Only books in completely locked areas were given secondary post-quest versions.

Item Sets

  • Fixed various spelling and grammatical issues with some item set tooltips.
  • Items associated with the Briarheart, Trinimac's Valor, and Mark of the Pariah item sets are now Bind on Equip instead of Bind on Pickup.
  • Fixed an issue that caused items in the Infallible Mage, Vicious Serpent, and Eternal Warrior sets to drop with out-of-date enchantments and traits.
  • Updated the following item sets to have an armor style that matches the theme of their new drop locations:
  • Fixed an issue that allowed several item sets that are specialized to a specific weapon type to drop outside that weapon type.
  • Cruel Flurry (Maelstrom Dual Wield enchantment): Reduced this enchantment's bonus to Weapon and Spell Damage on your next single-target damage over time ability to 2003 from 3096.
  • Draugr Hulk: Reduced the Max Stamina provided by this item set's 5-piece bonus to 2500 Max Stamina from 3000.
  • Infernal Guardian: Fixed an issue where this item set's mortar damage would target players and monsters that were not already in combat with you.
  • Healer's Habit: Fixed an issue where this item set's 5-piece bonus was not functioning.
    • Note: This was fixed in patch 2.6.0, but the patch note was unintentionally missed.
  • Lamia's Song: This item set's proc now scales with the Ultimate's cost as well as the item level of the full set. It will heal for the current value with a 250-cost Ultimate, with values decreasing as the Ultimate cost decreases.
  • Light Speaker: Increased this item set's Spell Damage bonus to your Restoration Staff abilities to 450 Spell Damage from 400.
  • Selene: Adjusted this item set's proc so that its damage is better synced up with the bear swipe animation, and adjusted the visibility of the bear to appear slightly earlier during the proc.
  • Shadowrend: Increased the duration of the Minor Maim applied by the Clannfear summon to 5 seconds from 3 seconds.
  • Shadow Dancer's Raiment: Fixed an issue where this item set's bonus was stacking every time you relogged.
  • Spider Cultist Cowl: Increased this item set's Spell Damage bonus to your Destruction Staff abilities to 450 Spell Damage from 400.
  • Sword Dancer: Increased this item set's Weapon Damage bonus to your Dual Wield abilities to 450 Weapon Damage from 400.
  • Sword-Singer: Increased this item set's Weapon Damage bonus to your Two Handed abilities to 450 Weapon Damage from 400.
  • Witchman Armor: This item set's proc now scales with the Ultimate's cost as well as the item level of the full set. It will heal and restore Stamina for the current value with a 250-cost Ultimate, with values decreasing as the Ultimate cost decreases.

Miscellaneous[edit]

General

  • Fixed an issue where searching through your Collections could cause a crash if you had a very large amount of Collectibles unlocked.
  • Fixed an issue where your game could crash while pickpocketing.

Quests & Zones[edit]

General

  • The wayshrines in the first zones for all three alliances have been unlocked.

Auridon

  • The Barbed Hook Private Room was previously situated directly beneath a public balcony. The owners of the Barbed Hook Tavern have added a new wall to help ensure that their Private Room is, in fact, private.

Cadwell's Silver & Gold

  • Updated Meridia's Charm of the Dawn and Meridia's Emblem of Searing Light, the items received for completing Cadwell's Silver and Cadwell's Gold, to scale to your level and CP at the moment of quest completion. We also updated the quality of these items to purple from blue.

Craglorn

  • Various balance tweaks have been made to bosses and monsters found throughout Craglorn.
  • Madleena Blackvein can now be looted after being killed.
  • Dawn of the Exalted Viper: The Exemplary Nirnhoned equipment, awarded at the end of the quest, now scales to your level and Champion rank.
  • Souls of the Betrayed: This quest's reward will now properly scale with your level.
  • Supreme Power: Entering the warded door during Minerva's talk or dispel step now causes the quest to skip to “Enter the Apex Tower.”
  • The Star-Gazers: Accepting this quest from a poster will now open the Belkarth wayshrine to facilitate travel.

Deshaan

  • The Argonian Muck Minder, a quest reward in Deshaan, now has the Charged Weapon enchantment on it by default.

Khenarthi's Roost

  • Cast Adrift: Fixed an issue where you could not patch the leaks in the Prowler if you logged out on the subsequent step and then came back later.

Main Quest

  • Updated the loot for several Main Quest areas to be consistent with One Tamriel standards.
  • Soul Shriven in Coldharbour: The Sealed Urn no longer appears as level 1. The contents still scale to your level at the moment you open it.

Rivenspire

Vampire

  • Scion of the Blood Matron: Fixed an issue where a quest pin would not appear over the altar if you accepted the quest from the scroll.

Werewolf

  • Hircine's Gift: Player characters bitten by other werewolves can once again properly see Thoreki to begin the quest. We also fixed an issue where acquiring the quest from the scroll at the werewolf site would not let you use the entry portal.

UI[edit]

General

  • Fixed an issue where debug text would occasionally appear in tutorials and center-screen announcements.
  • Fixed an issue where the group quest icon wouldn't appear in your quest journal.
  • Fixed an issue where some quest reward items in Craglorn had the tag "[Clone]" prepended to their names.
  • Many areas incorrectly labeled as “Public Dungeon” will now show their correct type.

Gamepad Mode

  • You can now view the description of your character attributes in the Character Sheet.

Gameplay

  • Added a warning message about binding bind-on-pickup tradeable items when attempting to upgrade them at a Crafting Station.
  • Fixed an issue where the third reagent slot would not properly clear from the Alchemy window when you reset your skills, which removed the Laboratory Use passive.

Tutorials

  • Clarified and improved several tutorials and help menu entries.
