Amber is a glimmering orange material from the Shivering Isles. It was added to the game by the Saints & Seducers Creation. They can be found within hollowed stumps in the Root Tunnels under Solitude Sewers, and in the inventory of Khajiit caravan traders after receiving Ri'saad's note on his new wares. It is used to create high-quality weapons and light armor.

  • Varying amounts of Amber are obtained by Searching Hollowed Stumps.
  • 1 Refined Amber is obtained by smelting 2 Amber.
  • Amber Smithing requires the Glass Smithing perk and therefore requires a 70 Smithing skill.
  • Amber Armor is made from Refined Amber, Refined Moonstone, and Leather Strips.
  • Amber weapons are level 27 weapons, made from Refined Amber, Refined Moonstone, Leather Strips, and Firewood.

Amber Smithing[edit]

The secrets to smithing Amber equipment is learned by reading Evethra's Journal, obtained from a miscellaneous quest which is granted upon reading the Note on Amber and Madness Ore. Smithing the armor also requires learning Glass Smithing, the third perk in the "light armor" branch of the smithing skill's perk tree. Due to this, crafting Amber armor and weapons essentially requires a Smithing skill of 70, and the Advanced Armors perk must have already been unlocked.

Amber Armor[edit]

Amber armor is a variety of light armor which is superior to standard dragonscale armor, making it the second most powerful light armor you can craft in the game before the Studded Dragonscale Armor from the Alternative Armors - Dragonscale creation.
