Skyrim:Khajiit Traders

Jump to: navigation, search

The Khajiit traders are caravans of roving Khajiit merchants who travel between different settlements in Skyrim with their entourages, which includes trainers and mercenaries who protect the groups. After completing several quests for the Thieves Guild, a merchant in each caravan will become a fence and purchase stolen goods. All three caravans are owned and operated by Ri'saad, though he has divided his workers into three smaller groups and assigned each of them a different trading route.

The Khajiit caravans can be encountered on the road traveling between their destinations. When arriving at a city, they will establish a camp outside the main entrance to the city. These camps will have tents and a campfire; in Riften, Whiterun and Windhelm the camp will have a tanning rack as well. The caravan will stay for a while, then resume traveling. Both setting up and breaking camp will only happen off-screen. Whether at their camp or on the road, they will always be ready to do business.

The Rare Curios Creation adds a number of items that are exclusively available from the Khajiit traders, most of which are rare ingredients with otherwise unobtainable alchemy effects. The traders are also the only source of Aloe Vera Leaves, added in Special Edition Patch 1.6.1130.

Caravans[edit]

Ri'saad's Caravan[edit]

Ri'saad's own caravan has a trade route between Whiterun and Markarth, and includes the fence Atahbah and the Dark Brotherhood target Ma'randru-jo. They are protected by the mercenary Khayla, who is a common Sneak trainer.

Ahkari's Caravan[edit]

Ahkari is accompanied by the fence Zaynabi and travels between Riften and Dawnstar. They are protected by the mercenaries Dro'marash, a common Speech trainer, and Kharjo, who becomes a follower after retrieving his Moon Amulet.

Ma'dran's Caravan[edit]

Ma'dran's route between Windhelm and Solitude has proven to be very profitable during the civil war. He is protected by the mercenaries Ra'zhinda and Ma'jhad, who is both a fence and an expert trainer in Lockpicking.

Bugs[edit]

  • The Khajiit caravans may fail to set up tents and just stand in place.
    • On PC Entering the following console commands in sequence can be used to reset bugged caravans. Do this at a location distant from the caravan stop points and save your game beforehand.

  • A bug similar to the above occurs when the tents and campsite are set up at one caravan stop (say, Risaad's camp is outside Whiterun), but the Khajiit merchant in question is on the other side of the map at their other stop (in Risaad's case, Markarth), without the camp. Once this bug happens to a particular Khajiit merchant, it will continue for them.
