Fort Sundercliff rises over the village of Sundercliff, located on the scenic Nibenay Basin. Once it defended the border between Cyrodiil and the eastern provinces of Morrowind and Black Marsh, but it currently sits abandoned due to cutbacks and the ongoing war farther to the north.

Fort Sundercliff is an abandoned Legion fort in Cyrodiil, located in the eastern Nibenay Basin, surrounded by the town of Sundercliff.
You will visit the ravaged ruins of the fort during the related quest, accessed from a portal opened by Lyranth in Destruction's Solace.
Mehrunes Dagon successfully crosses into Nirn here, with the energy given to him by Sombren, and then begins the process to merge Nirn with the Deadlands.
Related Quests[edit]
- Ambition's End: Assemble your allies and launch an assault on Mehrunes Dagon's capital.
Notes[edit]
- Fort Sundercliff first appeared in the Mehrunes' Razor DLC for Oblivion as Sundercliff Watch.
Bugs[edit]
- The portal at the start of the location that links back to Destruction's Solace is incorrectly named "Portal to Sundercliff". ?
- The siege weapon attacks encountered in the first stretch of the location are delayed, and lack visual and sounds when landing, though damage and effects from them are still received. ?
