Combustion I: Increases the damage of your Burning and Poisoned status effects by 20%. When you apply Burning or Poisoned to an enemy, you restore 500 Magicka and Stamina. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.
Combustion II: Increases the damage of your Burning and Poisoned status effects by 40%. When you apply Burning or Poisoned to an enemy, you restore 1000 Magicka and Stamina. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds.

Combustion increases the Damage of the Burning and Poisoned Status Effects from the Ardent Flame skill line as well as for other sources of Poison and Fire damage. Also restores Magicka or Stamina when applying the Burning or Poisoned status effects respectively.

Notes[edit]

  • As Combustion can apply to the Burning and Poisoned Status Effects caused by fire and poison glyphs, it is possible to benefit from Combustion in Werewolf form.
  • Prior to Update 10, this passive was named Kindling and only increased the damage of the Burning status effect.

Patch Notes[edit]

  • Kindling: Renamed this passive ability to Combustion. In addition, this passive ability now also increases the damage of the Poisoned status effect, in addition to the Burning status effect.
  • This passive ability now increases the damage of Burning and Poisoned by 25/50%, down from 33/66%.
  • This passive ability now also restores 250/500 Magicka or Stamina to you when you apply the Burning or Poisoned status effects to an enemy. These effects can occur once every 5 seconds.
  • Decreased the cooldown from this passive to 2 seconds from 5 seconds. This was done to help alleviate many of the duration-based ability cost increases, as well as helping this passive synergize with more build customization such as using the Charged trait.
  • This passive no longer has a cooldown in order to help the Dragonknight sustain itself, since it doesn't have a class-based dedicated resource ability such as Dark Exchange or Siphoning Strikes.
  • Increased the resources granted from this passive to 500/1000 Stamina or Magicka, up from 250/500.
  • Added a cooldown of 500ms to each effect (which are separately tracked from one another) to make up for the above increase and the massive buff the Charged trait is getting.
  • This passive now has a cooldown of 3 seconds, up from .5 seconds.
    • Developer Comment: This passive is enabling a lot of sustain in situations where you're building around it with status chance increases, allowing the Dragonknight to sustain effortlessly with a few passive options. The class was originally meant to struggle more with sustain, with larger moments of burst with Battle Roar and Combustion procs peppered in. While we love the synergy here with some more niche gameplay elements like Charged and focusing on status effects, this passive was removing one of the core weaknesses of the class that kept it in check in many areas. As such, we're increasing the cooldown in hopes to bring back some of the natural difficulty the class has with keeping the pedal to metal, while still being more viable than it was when its flames were more like embers.
