Beyond Skyrim:Cyrodiil/Unmarked Places

This article describes places of interest in Cyrodiil that are not marked on your map, are not represented by icons on your compass, and aren't directly related to any quests. Some of the places on this list do not have official names or titles, in which case unofficial names have been used to describe the places.

Unmarked Camps

• Just southwest of Underpall Cave is a small cavern where a goblin guards a campfire, a knapsack and some dead rabbits.
• On the dirt trail east of Anga you will come across some small stone ruins under an overhang. Two minotaurs guard a boss chest and a collection of horse, troll and human skulls spattered with blood.
• Northeast of Plundered Mine is a small campsite with two tents with bedrolls, a chest, a knapsack and the bloodied corpse of an adventurer.

The bandit camp southeast of Frostcrag Spire

• Along the snowy trail north of Hjalti's Refuge you will come across a small goblin camp under an overhang. Past a bone chimes rope are two goblins and a shaman or seer, guarding a campsite with a totem, a boss chest and the bloodied corpse of an Imperial.
• Down a snowy trail to the southeast of Frostcrag Spire is a small camp, where three bandits guard three tents with bedrolls, a chest and a tanning rack.
• Southwest of Sedor, just off the dirt path leading up to the ruin, is an abandoned campsite with a cooking pot, two tents with bedrolls, a knapsack, a tanning rack and plenty of bloody bones. On top of a chopped tree you will find a leveled potion and a werewolf's forgotten journal, shedding light on what has happened here.
• South of Dragonclaw Rock, just off the main road, is a small campsite with two bandits, one of whom is carrying a treasure map.
• By the road southwest of the Bruma Western Watchtower is an overhang where a headless vampire has made his camp. Nearby are the corpse of a Vigilant of Stendarr, a coffin bed, a knapsack, an elixir of health, a Third Era Colovian fur helm and a leveled greatsword.
• East of Fort Horunn is a small campsite protected by sharpened stakes and guarded by two goblins. Next to the campfire you will find a totem and a chest.
• East of The Beast's Maw is an abandoned Imperial fortified gatehouse, guarding the road south. The road is now blocked by rockfall and the fort has been taken over by minotaurs. There are two regular minotaurs and a lord, along with a boss chest, a bonfire and impaled burnt corpses.

Unmarked Ruins and Monuments

The Shrine of Talos southeast of Gautierre Manor

• To the southwest of Cutpurse Hideout is a small lake with a Nirnroot and silver ore veins on its shores. Roughly in the middle, an underwater strong box lies on the lake bed next to two skeletons. On the eastern end, just off the main road, you will find a small stone ruin overgrown with moss and guarded by a rat and a wolf. It previously served as a hidden shrine of Talos but now there are only three dead worshipers laying in the lavender.
• Just off the main road to Chorrol, northwest of Unmarked Cave, you will find an Ayleid well, guarded by a bear. Activating it you will receive the Boon of the Ayleids blessing.

The nordic ruin in the far northwestern reaches of County Bruma

• From Underpall Cave, take the path heading west until you reach a bloody cairn. From here head north and up a series of stone steps until you reach a secluded valley with some large circular stone ruins in the middle. The ruins host a boss-level necromancer, three standard necromancers, a zombie, a bandit corpse and an alchemy lab. On the latter are the Alchemy skill book Mannimarco, King of Worms and the Conjuration skill book Corpse Preparation v I.
• Northeast of Lakeside Retreat, overlooking the lake, is a ruined tower inhabited by a conjurer. In the tower you will find a chest, an alchemy lab and a table with a strongbox, four leveled potions and various ingredients, including a portion of ogre teeth, a portion of goblin wax, a red mudcrab chitin and three Nibenese silverbird eggs.
• On a rocky shoulder overlooking Reman's Mirror from the west is a small Nordic ruin consisting of a stone platform with a chest, a few urns and a stone coffin. Snorre the Lesser will emerge from the latter once you come closer.
• Southeast of Gautierre Manor is an icy overhang hosting a shrine of Talos, a statue of Tiber Septim, a coin purse and the corpses of two worshipers. Further down the mountain you will come across another corpse and a corundum ore vein. You will shortly thereafter be ambushed by Agent Nurenor and a Thalmor soldier.
• To the east of Cutpurse Hideout, in the middle of the wilderness is a wayshrine of Akatosh. There is a wolf nearby, as well as numerous bugs, two coin purses and two silver goblets. The wayshrine itself will bestow the Blessing of Akatosh upon you.
• On the road just south of Fort Horunn, you will come across three snow predators (animals, frost trolls or ogres) guarding a stone platform with a rock pillar in the middle. Here you will also find a chest, a leveled sword, a leveled shield and two coin purses.
• Along the dirt track leading from The Sentinel to Cloud Ruler Temple, just past a broken trebuchet, you will find four snow predators (animals, frost trolls or ogres) guarding a stone platform with two large engraved columns, two burnt corpses, a chest, three coin purses, a silver goblet and a portion of ginkgo leaves.
• In the far northeastern reaches of County Bruma, northwest of the Camp of the Devout and southeast of Gutted Mine, is a large nordic ruin overlooking the valley below. There are three rotating stone pillars and a handle. Orientate the pillars so to that, from left to right, they show Snake, Eagle and Whale, and the grate on the floor will open, allowing access to a boss chest and some urns.

Creature Lairs

• Southeast of Lakeside Retreat you will come across a rocky overhang where a troll has made its lair, amidst a large number of bones.
• Just south of the Ayleid bridge linking Greenwood to Anga is a mudflat where a fisherman is desperately trying to see off a river troll. Nearby are a broken boat, a number of fishing rods and a clay deposit.
• Along the riverside to the southwest of the Shrine of Namira is a rocky overhang that a river troll has made into its lair. Alongside plenty of bones, you will also find a skeleton, a bandit corpse, a High Elf corpse and a wolf carcass. Further up the mountain side to the northeast is up a small dry creek. In the middle of it, set on a rock overlooking the valley, is a mountain lion skull with a Third Era Colovian fur helm on top of it.
• Under a rocky overhang just west of Greenwood you will find a bear lair with some bones, two skeletons and the corpse of a hunter.

Smaller Places of Interest

The Cutter ambush south of the Serpent's Trail

• Along the dirt track leading from Anga to Red Ruby Cave, you will come across a small stone cairn. From here, head west across country, jumping up the rocky cliff face until you arrive in a small grove of trees. In the middle is a hollow rock with an Iron Sword of Epic Win inside.
• Taking the dirt trail that heads north from Anga, you will arrive at a clearing where Retching Cornelius is camped during A Cutter in Need. Just before that is an uprooted tree, which has collapsed on top of an unfortunate skeleton, who is still grasping a leveled war axe and shield. At the very edge of the trunk jutting out into the void, is a coin purse.
• Northeast of Lakeside Retreat, on a slope overlooking the lake, you will find a dead hunter alongside a knapsack and a cold campfire.
• Under a stone bridge just north of The Sentinel you will find a stone bowl containing 40 gold coins, two topaz and a jade. This hoard is noted in a treasure map found in a small bandit camp just south of Dragonclaw Rock.
• North of Fort Horunn, half buried by snow drifts, is the skeleton of a mammoth, with a tusk lying nearby.
• On a mountain face just southwest of Cloud Ruler Temple you will find a snow drift with two skeletal feet sticking out, and an Elven sword nearby.
• On the road south of the Serpent's Trail, you will arrive at the site of an ambush by the criminal gang Thorina's Cutters. A caravan that was being guarded by Avar was attacked: a wagon with a strongbox lies overturned and its two owners murdered. The two Cutters responsible, lurking nearby, won't hesitate to attack.
• Along the mountain trail south of Hjalti's Refuge, under a plank bridge is a gully with a skeleton and a leveled enchanted weapon.
