The tentacles are deeply unnerving.	I don't believe they're cause for alarm. I have only minor facility with magic, but perhaps the tentacles are ritualistic in some way?	That's all well and good, but the cold fire of the brazier seems more practical than mystical. A cold fire will burn paper, after all, and is more than bright enough to read by.
