Mounts?
Why are there no mounts in the Shivering Isles? I could always put some in on the CS, but I was really looking forward to getting some sort of daedric horse or something. Or maybe I'm just not far enough in the game to get one yet? Elpiggo 16:41 07 May 2007 {EDT)

level
When does SI starts to check your level??? is it when you download it or when you first enter???
I got the best Dawnfang/Duskfang (30+) but the worst Talisman of Abetment (1-4) and I was level 34 when I first entred SI but it was installed when I started with my current character... Will I be able to get the best Talisman of Abetment if I delete SI and redownload it from marketplace??? — Unsigned comment by S990WE (talk • contribs)
- I think it is very weird you got such a low level Talisman of Abetment. Usually with leveled items you receive from NPC's the version is determined by the level character you are at that moment. It's a bit different with items you get from chests, there the version is determined by the level character you were when you first entered the cell the chest is in.
- As for disabling/enabling the Shivering Isles (I don't know the precise way to do that on an XBox360); I'm not sure, but I believe all Shivering Isles content is lost, and items/quest will be obtainable again if you enable the expansion again. Experience your character accumulated, however, is not lost. --Timenn 16:25, 13 May 2007 (EDT)
- Although you might want to not be in the Shivering Isles when you disable/enable it; since you are technically no longer in Cyrodiil, no telling what that may do to your game (could completely disable it or something), so make a few saved games. -Aeroice 18:33, 1 June 2007 (EDT)
Multiplayer for 360, info.
I read the question about multiplayer for Xbox and people saying it. It will never be a MMORPH if that is what they are thinking. The developers hinted a couple times about a possible Online CO-OP and mentioned via Xbox Live.
They never mentioned anything more. The Co-op simply would allow 1 other person to join you on missions and quests to do them together. However this idea may have been canned because of the code changed required and it would require a good size update via xbox live. Maybe it will still come out, but there is a chance it has been canceled.
Bethesda said that there will never be any sort of multiplayer in Oblivion.--Most Honored Listener 13:37, 10 June 2007 (EDT)
Split
I have an annoying problem, where it is impossible for me to start the quest in the town of split, as ive talked to all the villagers and not one has told me about the quest, only the rumour lettering comes up. Anyone got any ways to fix this?--Willyhead 15:46, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
Have you killed anyone in Split before the quest beginning?(Not saying you're stupid just asking)Also, make sure there have been no premature deaths.(Everybody Loves Elytra).--Puddle 17:55, 28 February 2008 (EST)

ok i think this is a bug. when i slept a guy came up to me and goes I HAVE NO GREETING doesnt say it just shows wtf?OmgWtfLolUdieNoob 02:06, 4 July 2007 (EDT)
- That's a known issue. It occurs when Lucien Lachance of the Dark Brotherhood tries to visit you in the Shivering Isles. Check out section 5.1 on the Glitches page. --RpehTalk 03:04, 4 July 2007 (EDT)
Role play guide
Can someone please write a roleplay guide for the shivering isles like there is for oblivion.--172.202.60.119 08:05, 15 August 2007 (EDT)
- Actually there is a Shivering Isles Roleplaying idea on the Oblivion Roleplaying page.--Willyhead 15:31, 15 August 2007 (EDT)
Massive amounts of horses owned
I've just installed the shivering isles add on for the XBOX 360, and when looking at the horses owned statistic on my game statistics the amount of horses I have owned is now over 2 billion. Anyone else have this glitch or something like this? Is this anything to do with the reference bug?
A very different Isles
Although it will never happen/get made, there should be a part of the game where when you first enter the Isles, you are given the choice to aid Sheogorath or Jyggalag, and if you aid the Forces Of Order, you end up fighting Sheogorath. In the battle, he continuously Wabbajacks you until you go insane. Comment please! --Merco 14:56, 15 August 2007 (EDT)
- Have you completed the game? If you have you'd realise why serving Jygaalag and fighting Sheogorath would not be possible. If you haven't, well then I don't want to spoil the secret for you!--Willyhead 15:05, 15 August 2007 (EDT)
That's where the mage who experimented in Split comes in!

Release date on PS3

New discussion
Who do you think is the sanest person in the Shivering Isles? I would say Haskill, but other people probably think different...--Merco 12:09, 21 August 2007 (EDT)
- Ummm, sorry, but this really isn't a forum or chatroom. The purpose of the wiki is to objectively document the games; the talk pages are here to discuss ways to improve the articles. If you'd like to have discussions about personal preferences or opinions, somewhere like the UESP Forums are a more appropriate place to do so. --NepheleTalk 13:33, 21 August 2007 (EDT)
Transferring files
I have Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine and basically most of my items are from those games. I will be going to school (living in a dorm) where we have Xbox 360 and Elder Scrolls. However, if the 360 doesn't have the expansion packs, what will happen to my character? Will he lose all his stuff? — Unsigned comment by 75.69.177.185 (talk)
- The save games will still load, but with a warning about content being unavailable. And all items that come from unavailable mods/expansions will no longer be available. --NepheleTalk 02:26, 26 August 2007 (EDT)
-
- What about if I try to load them back onto my old Xbox which has the expansion packs? Will everything go haywire or will i just get my items back with nothing going wrong? — Unsigned comment by 75.69.177.185 (talk)
-
-
- All of your original saves will be unaltered. As long as you don't overwrite or delete them you can later load them up on an Xbox 360 with all the mods, and your SI/KotN equipment will still be there. But any new saves you create will have permanently lost all the items. When you load them back onto a 360 with mods, it will be as if you just installed the mods for the first time. You will get popups telling you about new quests that are available for all the mods. You can then go and redo the quests if you want to get any of the items back. --NepheleTalk 21:55, 27 August 2007 (EDT)

SI Faction Page Dead
Is it me any my computer, or does the SI Factions page not load/open properly? I keep getting a white page with no information on it; is this a technical issue, at either end, or does that page just not exist?
- Must be some kind of loading error on your end...works fine for me. Keep trying, I suppose ;). --Eshe 10:08, 27 September 2007 (EDT)

-
- We've had the same problem in the past (twice) with Oblivion:Generic Magic Apparel. In IE6 the page would come up blank, but FF had no problems with it; purging the page fixed it. If it's happening with Shivering:Factions then it rules out page size triggering the problem... leaving me with absolutely no idea what causes this to crop up occasionally. --NepheleTalk 11:50, 27 September 2007 (EDT)

-
- Just had another thought - isn't there an IE6-specific CSS? (I can't check from here, alas). Is it possible that the cached copy of that is being corrupted somehow and there's something common to the affected pages that's causing them to blank? I know - I'm guessing too now... --RpehTalk 16:53, 27 September 2007 (EDT)

Island Doesn't Appear
I just installed Shivering Isles and the newest patch (after uninstalling and reinstalling oblivion). However, now matter what I try, I cannot get the island to appear. I've tried deactivating all my plugins except for shivering isles but nothing happens. The only thing I haven't tried yet is starting a new game; I don't need to do that, do I? Vontos 17:25, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
- I'd guess that for some reason SI hasn't installed properly. When you get to the load screen, try clicking the "Technical Support" option. Do you get "Version 1.2.0416" as your game version? Try reinstalling SI if not. --Rpeh•T•C•E• 17:39, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
-
- No, you definitely do not need to start a new game. After installing SI, the island immediately appears for any character that is loaded into the game (see FAQs, too).
- One issue that is important to understand with SI is that it is not really a "plugin", i.e. a game add-on that is external to the main game and separate from the main game files. Yes, there is a Shivering Isles .esp file, but that .esp file does not actually contain the SI game data. Instead, when you install SI it overwrites your main Oblivion.esm data file and adds all of the SI information directly into the Oblivion.esm data file. Given that you mention recently uninstalling and reinstalling Oblivion, I suspect that in the process you may have wiped out the version of the Oblivion.esm file that actually contains SI. You need to install SI after reinstalling Oblivion; you cannot just copy the SI files into the data directory and enable it in the list of mods. Also, you have to make sure to install the correct patch (if you patch before installing SI, use the Oblivion-only patch; if you patch after installing SI, use the SI patch). I hope that helps. --NepheleTalk 17:46, 23 October 2007 (EDT)

-
- I uninstalled and reinstalled everything into a different directory, and it works now. I still have no idea why it wasn't working at first.

Sources
Where is the source that states that the GOTY edition of Oblivion will be out in December in Europe? --Merco 13:19, 24 October 2007 (EDT)
Crime and Punishment
There currently is no article on exactly how crimes are treated while in the Shivering Isles. At least, not one that a person can easily find.
- Yeah ive got a problem concerning the law . i was sent to a dungeon and managed to escape but now my stuff is gone and i had a lot of nice stuff you know any help maybe?
- Close to the entrance of both dungeons you will find a chest containing your equipment. It will be guarded by a Saint or Seducer, depending on which dungeon you're in. —Rpeh•T•C•E• 06:57, 29 December 2007 (EST)
- Really the best thing to do would be to try not to escape and just do your time by sleeping on the bed... that way you don't loose your stuff!--Ahnaz31 14:32, 17 April 2008 (EDT)
- Clearly you don't know anything about SI, since you cannot "do time" in SI, you are sent to a dungeon, not to jail. And i think there is a page that explains SI crime.

Ahnaz31 is correct there is a page now. and it's well constructed, though I suppose a few maps and a few in depth descriptions on jail breaking would be in order. I'll look into this and add what I can to help make it easier and helpful for those that require aid. Kathis 22:36, 31 May 2008 (EDT)
Semi Protection?
Would it be entirely out of place for me to suggest placing this page under semi protection? It's been attacked by the nonsense bot more times than I care to count, and I don't think it would be too inconvenient to protect this page from non-registered users. --Eshetalk21:18, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
- Yep, it was overdue for that. Most of the other main game pages are already semi-protected for the same reason; it only seems appropriate to treat Shivering Isles the same way. I went ahead and added semi-protection. --NepheleTalk 00:40, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
May someone please list all of the people in Shivering Isles IDs so that you can do "player.placeatme"
At least put in Sheogorath's or the Duke or Duchess's because maybe people want them all to survive after that epic war that they were all turned insane and go to Jyggalag.— Unsigned comment by 68.194.37.234 (talk)

PS3 expansion
hey, this probably is a bit of a stupid question but i only played oblion and i dont know anything about any other elder scrolls games so can anyone tell me please if shivering isles is avalible on ps3 for expansion or is it a different game?
- I'm not quite sure what you mean but hopefully this page will answer your question. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 13:12, 22 January 2008 (EST)
- Or another place to look for answers to questions is the Frequently Asked Questions page ;) Specifically, How can I obtain Shivering Isles? and Can I use my existing Oblivion character? seem to be relevant. --NepheleTalk 13:48, 22 January 2008 (EST)
- There's a recently added SI trailer in the european(german) PS3 Network, maybe a hint that it'll be released in europe aswell?
360 installing problems
After I installed the shivering isles/knights of the nine expansion pack for the 360 it wont transfer to oblivion, like, after 24 hours i dont get the shivering isles quest, and the prophet wont turn up either. Ive tried reinstalling it but that didnt help. And every time I go into Oblivion it says loading extra content on the menu screen, which doesnt do anything, and when i start to play on a character it says this game relies on some thing that are unavailable. play anyway? or something like that. Ive noticed alot of other people are having this problem but i havent found an answer anywhere — Unsigned comment by Bori85 (talk • contribs)
- I'd suggest deleting the mods from your Xbox 360 hard drive and downloading them again. See Xbox 360 for information on how to delete the existing downloads; getting a new copy of the files from Xbox Live will be free. Also note that you have to connect your Xbox 360 to Xbox Live and download the content directly onto your own machine. Content downloaded for someone else's machine is not going to work. --NepheleTalk 16:56, 1 February 2008 (EST)
Crime & punishment vs. fame/ infamy
Do you ever gain infamy in the Isles? I've killed countless Golden Saints and Dark Seducers (accidential or not), ended up with a 1000 gold bounty ach time, but I'm only transported to the jail, but never gain any infamy.--LordDagon 07:13, 4 February 2008 (EST)
No gladly you can not get infamy as it is a seperate realm from Cyrodil.--Umbacano 09:56, 19 February 2008 (EST)
- A possible reason why infamy isn't raised by gaining a bounty in the Shivering Isles, is because the bounty for the Shivering Isles is recorded differently from Oblivion. If you check your character's statistics, you will see the two different bounties listed. Since it seems that Infamy is only affected after gaining an Oblivion bounty of 500 gold, this will mean that crimes in the Shivering Isles will not gain you any infamy. This would acknowledge LordDagon's experiences. --Timenn < talk > 08:46, 28 February 2008 (EST)
-
- Yep, that's most propably the explanation.--LordDagon 09:32, 1 March 2008 (EST)
Mytheria
In Shivering Isles Jyggalag's chamberlain is called Dyus of Mytheria. Was Mytheria the original name of the Shivering isles, when it was ruled by Jyggalag? - Theldyn Dovrosi 14:22, 8 February 2008 (EST)
- Probably. 66.29.169.1 19:34, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- We can only guess, as there are no other references to Mytheria in the entire game. --Robin Hood (Talk • E-mail • Contribs) 13:42, 5 June 2008 (EDT)
Guards with arrows
For some reason, upon entering the Shivering Isles, many of the guards in Cyrodiil, as well as in New Sheoth, have a bow and some arrows equipped as their primary weapon. They still have melee weapons, and shields, and this doesn't appear to affect gameplay, but I was wondering if anybody had an explanation?
- I've noted this as well, and i think it is part of patch 1.2, though i'm not certain.--LordDagon 09:30, 1 March 2008 (EST)
-
- Yes, it's a side-effect of the 1.2 patch. It's at least partially fixed by the UOP, if you're on PC. --Gaebrial 05:17, 3 March 2008 (EST)
Bizarre bug and duplication glitch
I have no idea why or how either of these have come about. But Cutter treats me as though i'm an intruder, following me around when i enter her shop. Dumag gro-Bonk on the other hand treats me as an intruder and refuses to even let me trade with him, insisting its 'not time for business' at all times of day. - Ok i seem to have found an explanation about this on the Antipodean hammer page, but theres still no real info on how to fix it.
Also i seem to be getting a weird duplication glitch. If i quicksave, drop items on the floor, then quickload (probably works with other types of loading too), my inventory is set back to normal, but the dropped items remain on the floor (aslong as i don't have to zone to get to them). I'm not intending to abuse it, but its worked so far with 2 full sets of Madness Armour in the hope that was the reason Dumag refused to speak with me and some Grand Soul Gems just to see if it was still working. I'm not sure if it happens in other areas of the game but its definatly working in Bliss and Crucible. And its only affecting this char also.
Can anyone throw any light on just what the hell is happening here? — Unsigned comment by 79.64.124.237 (talk)
- This question has already been answered in the place where you first asked about it, namely at Shivering talk:Dumag gro-Bonk. Everything else that you're describing here is simply further proof that you really do have the Reference Bug. You need to install the latest Patch. And then go back to a savegame before these problems started occuring, because any savegame displaying these problems is corrupt. --NepheleTalk 19:27, 4 March 2008 (EST)
infinite money glitch:shivering isles
after beating shvering isles summon haskil. ask him about defending the realm. he asks u to go to highcross and kill the monters there. u will get 1000 gold each time. keep summoning him and killing monsters.1000 gold everytime. remember after killing monsters go back to sheoth palace and talk to haskil. if u stay at highcross and summon him the glitch will not work. u have to go to highcross, kill monsters, go back to sheoth palace, then go back again to highcross etc.
Matrix Armor and Weapons
Go to Runoff Camp which is directly east of new sheoth palace. there should be a river next to the camp follow it east till your ontop of the waterfall jump off into the water and look north there should be another waterfall. around the bottom of it should be a big chest (its underwater) in it i found the amber cuirass matrix, gold, jewels, and some soul gems.

Okay, I deleted the Shivering Isles and re-downloaded it and it worked but I have no quest markers or anything. PS3 Europe
First of all, the normal Blu-Ray disc is not released yet in Europe. (And ofcourse I was wondering when it's finally coming.)
Thanks, Hiddos 14:39, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
GotY + Normal version save game compatability
Second, I was wondering if the Game of the Year edition can see the normal PS3 version's save games. Does anyone know? Cause if Shivering Isles isn't coming out on Blu-Ray disc soon, I'm gonna buy the GotY version.
Thanks, Hiddos 14:35, 2 April 2008 (EDT)
EDIT: Hiddos 15:25, 3 April 2008 (EDT) Nevermind! I bought the GOTY edition and they work together! I'm off to the Shivering Isles now!
The Madman's Idea
If the GOTY Edition of the Shivering Isles is played on a PS3, and the game is saved whilst within the Isles, what happens if the 'vanilla' version of the game is loaded? I suspect that it deletes something, crashes, or simply doesn't load. --Merco 11:35, 4 April 2008 (EDT)
- Based on this discussion, it probably freezes when you try to load. --NepheleTalk 01:53, 27 April 2008 (EDT)
Infamy
I've noticed that you gain no Fame in the Shivering Isles. Do you still gain Infamy for committing serious crimes? I'll give it atry. Robed Dawnbringer 05:01, 17 April 2008 (EDT)
- I guess it would depend on whether you are doing a quest in the SI... but other than that, they probably don't care much about what you do. Really I think that the fame portion was based on and around the world of Oblivion, and not in SI.--Ahnaz31 14:35, 17 April 2008 (EDT)

Alchemy
Will anone create a potion/poison list using shivering ilse plants. — Unsigned comment by 207.200.116.6 (talk)
- If you mean the potions added by the game; it's here. If you mean a list of potions makeable with the ingredients, I'm not so sure whether one exists. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 13:53, 28 May 2008 (EDT)
- Let's see... We already have detailed pages on each individual Shivering Isles igredient. All of the effects provided by Shivering Isles ingredients are listed on the Alchemy Effects page. Potion and poison recipes using Shivering Isles ingredients are already listed on the Useful Potions page. Shivering Isles ingredients are included in the Alchemy Calculator. So, no, I don't think we're going to go into even more detail than that because trying to create a page listing every single possibility out of the 100,000 different potions/poisons that could be created using Shivering Isles ingredients would be a complete waste of everybody's time. --NepheleTalk 19:29, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
Hiden containers in Shivering islands
It has accord to me that when I started being a tribute to Oblivion GOTY that there was no page for chests, containers, for the outer world area. I was wondering why, and if for no reason should I start one. I tend to add to existing articles since it's easier on me and I don't feel out of place. Kathis 14:53, 3 June 2008 (EDT)
- There's no such page on Oblivion either, but I'd agree that, since SI has much better treasure in such chests it would be a worthwhile page. However, I would suggest that unless you know how to find out the information from the construction set, you just add the idea to the task list. Anything else is likely to require somebody else to go through and fix the information anyway. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 15:20, 3 June 2008 (EDT)

SI failing to load
- On PS3 (used original oblivion disk)I was dropped into the Tiber Septim hotel and everything on my character was deleted (spells and faction). Woth the SI disk back I still had all the weapons I stored and quests finished (it just didn't show in my journal). I'll check this soon so tell me if you want more details. — Unsigned comment by 70.241.128.127 (talk)
- The Tiber Septim hotel is the default location you are placed if your character's previous location is unavailable. That is, if your character was located somewhere provided by a mod, and the game was unable to load the mod, and by extension, the location, it will place you back in the Tiber Septim. This implies that your game is unable to access the SI content. I'm not exactly sure what PS3 users do, but my most rudimentary assumption would be to either reset your console and try again, or reinstall the DLC. --Saruuk 23:04, 2 July 2008 (EDT)
