I'm going to be absent from the wiki indefinitely. Although it might be for a while, or not long at all, I'll be back sometime!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm currently playing through Daggerfall, so that is my focus right now. But I also like and play the other games in the series. I hope I can contribute over time, but I will probably not be the most active, especially now with finals on the horizon. Again, thanks for the welcome. Morg 08:00, 4 November 2008 (EST)

Patroller Nomination[edit]

First of all, thank you for nominating me. I'm glad that I've been of enough use to warrant it. =)

Second, is there a required level of activity to remain a patroller, assuming I become one? I can't really guarantee a steady level of activity, because my time on the site varies depending on the time of year. If that's not a problem, though, then go ahead and sign me up. =) IWon'tFightUndead 18:32, 23 November 2008 (EST)

Right, great to hear it! And no, all you need to be a patroller is to be able to make high quality edits, and an ability to judge other peoples' edits for quality and validity. I'll be putting up your nomination now. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 12:20, 24 November 2008 (EST)

Vaguely I remember you... Are you also Game Lord on some kind of wikia wiki? --Ooswesthoesbes 10:29, 30 November 2008 (EST)

Yeah, I am. I think you're thinking of this :) - Game LordTalk|Contribs 11:49, 30 November 2008 (EST)
Indeed! I'm glad to see that you're still alive :) --Ooswesthoesbes 06:48, 1 December 2008 (EST)

My images[edit]

I've set the standard language in my profile to German and "Beschreibung" is the German word for description. Every time I upload an image, using the Upload Page, this text is used. This is perhaps related to the configuration of this page and perhaps some administrator can fix this issue.--PLRDLF 13:26, 30 November 2008 (EST)

Hmm, ok. In that case, until we fix the problem with the page, could you simply fix the images right after you upload them, as a temporary solution? - Game LordTalk|Contribs 14:05, 30 November 2008 (EST)

Happy Birthday![edit]

Does this mean you're now legally able to drink all the beer you've been drinking anyway? :) –RpehTCE 04:35, 18 December 2008 (EST)

ROFL, happy B-Day bro. Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated. Lukish_ Tlk Cnt 05:25, 18 December 2008 (EST)
Even though I'm not German, they would say Herzlichen Gluckwünsch zum Geburtstag (I still can't remember where the ü goes in it). Happy birthday and don't party too hard. --penguin0719 TalkContribs 08:31, 18 December 2008 (EST)
Happy birthday from me, too! --GuildKnightTalk2me 15:10, 18 December 2008 (EST)
Thanks to all of you :) I'll be celebrating this weekend, and yes, Rpeh, finally drinking beer legally! - Game LordTalk|Contribs 19:07, 19 December 2008 (EST)

Good to see you back again after some time away. Hope everything is fine now. See you 'round. --SerCenKing 08:24, 21 March 2009 (EDT)

Thanks! :) Yeah, it's been hectic, but it's cooled down now, and hopefully it'll stay cooled for a while! - Game LordTalk|Contribs 08:45, 21 March 2009 (EDT)

Hey thanks for that, I was still looking for a way to move it myself when you did it... I saw the 'move' button on the top of the page literally seconds ago XD.. --SerCenKing 10:25, 29 March 2009 (EDT)

No problem :D. Now you'll know how to do it next time (Not that there has to be a next time, of course!). - Game LordTalk|Contribs 10:33, 29 March 2009 (EDT)

Thank You[edit]

Thanks for the advice regarding my user page. I will probably dual-host my novelization because I have lots of fans on my fanficton account who have expressed an interest in it, but the thought of it being made more readily available to the wiki users is also a pretty cool prospect.

Thank you again for taking the time. — Unsigned comment by Azeg-Rael (talkcontribs) on 1. April 2009

Not a problem! Glad I was of help. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 11:34, 2 April 2009 (EDT)

New Images[edit]

Could you possibly re-upload your new map of Eretammus-Sennammu Egg Mine to the original file name at File:MW-map-Eretammus-Sennammu Egg Mine.jpg instead of creating an image with a new name? First, there is the long discussion at Help talk:Images#Recommended Image Names which says that images should be uploaded using existing names whenever the existing image has a legitimate name. Second, the original image name is preferable to your new image name, since the original image name uses the correct place name instead of a compressed version of the place name. Finally, now that we can rename images, there should no longer be any need ever to delete images just to fix their name -- even if the original image name had been incorrect, that image should have been moved. Thanks! --NepheleTalk 14:24, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Oh! For some reason I thought that the old map had the wrong name (most of the older maps are incorrectly named). Sorry about that. I've uploaded the map to the old file's name and added a {{speedydeletion}} tag to the other one. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 16:52, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! --NepheleTalk 16:57, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Wikia's Elder Scrolls wiki[edit]

The users at The Elder Scrolls Wiki are attempting to remove your administrative rights for that wiki. They've already removed my administrative rights (unjustly in my opinion). Due to your inactivity, it's going to be very difficult to defend your position. If you don't care about that wiki any longer, then perhaps it's best that you simply resign your post. If you still wish to edit at that wiki, then you're probably going to lose, just as I've lost. Sorry. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 15:29, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

i saw you in the mentor section claiming you knw about modding and morrowind, so mabye you can help me. when i try to install a mod, i get to the point where you extract the files, but i don't know where to put them. the computer's suggestion is c/users/scotty(me)/documents or something like that. the readme for the morrowind patch project said extract into the morrowind directory. where's that? how do i do this? Help!-Scotty1215 22:00, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

The Morrowind directory is the directory you have Morrowind installed in. Normally mods should be extracted to the Data Files located in that directory, but if the readme gives the Morrowind directory itself, you should extract the files there. --Timenn-<talk> 13:28, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

This is a courtesy message to inform you that your user profile has been removed from the list of mentors at UESPWiki:Mentor Program, and also to request that you remove the "Mentor" userbox on your user page, if applicable. If this userbox is not removed within one week from the date of this notice, an administrator will remove it. Please visit the Mentor Program page to see the expectations of mentors. If you believe you satisfy the expectations of Mentors, then please contact the user who posted this message. The reason you were removed from the list is: "Mentors are expected to be active on UESPWiki within the last three months."Elliot talk 22:33, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Welcome back![edit]

Good to see you active again! Hopefully it will continue to be like this in the future! --SerCenKing Talk 16:31, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome :). I'm going to try to be more active in the future. Although what with real life events it may not be possible all of the time. I'l keep my page updated though. - GLT|C 17:44, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
It's nice to have you back here again. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:13, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Indeed - good to have you back again. –rpehTCE 18:20, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Welcome back from me, too! --GKtalk2me 23:00, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the props, but...[edit]

I feel like I could be doing a better job. Could you suggest a free-ware photo editor that's kind of like photoshop or paint shop pro? I can google or it, but is there a known A+ program? — Unsigned comment by Smallpoxx (talkcontribs) on 8 January 2010 (OMG I CANT BELIEVE IT)--Smallpoxx 01:50, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

I've never used it myself (Paint Shop Pro all the way - and you can get a Shareware version, I believe), but The GIMP has quite a following. –rpeh TCE 00:26, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Sweet, I have not really checked it out, but it looks like it will do the trick. --Smallpoxx 01:50, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
It might surprise you to know, but in all my image editing done for this site MS Paint and the MS Picture Viewer have sufficed completely! - GLT|C 15:42, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

New Maps[edit]

The new maps are great, but I'm not sure putting them in a ShowHide is the right thing to do. At a quick glance it doesn't look like there's anything under the Maps header. Why not just put them in a left-aligned row of thumbs, which is the standard used elsewhere? rpeh •TCE 15:25, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

I considered adding a note saying that to see the maps, you should click the "show" button on the right. My problem with thumbnails is that they are, quite simply, useless for maps. No one can see anything on a picture that small. Having to click on the picture to enlarge it is a pain to the readers, and some might not even realise that you can.
On place pages with only one map, I add the map at 600px (example). However on a page with 5 maps, that drags the page on for ages. I put them in a ShowHide so that you can choose to have them out or not.
My solution would probably be, as I said, to add a little note in cursive text, so that the user notices them. I've never liked putting maps as thumbnails and I've always widened them when adding them to the page. - GLT|C 15:30, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Well the ShowHide template allows you to specify a header, but I still don't like the idea. I don't see that there's a problem with clicking on a map - it's a wiki, and clicking is how you use it. rpeh •TCE 15:32, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes, clicking is how it's done, but when a reader wants a map for a dungeon, they're going to want them all, not just one. Opening them all in tabs, or windows for people who use IE 6, is a hassle. The way I've laid it out means they just need to scroll up or down the page as they progress through the dungeon. I really can't see any problems with the ShowHide template, although maybe adding a header like you said would help. Bring it up on the map standards talk page, or on the CP if you like.
I'll stop adding to pages which need more than one map for now though, in any case. - GLT|C 15:36, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks GL, i was hoping for some feedback before i started mapping more of them. I tried to reduce the map to 40k as per the redesign guidelines (as Mawia is technically only one room) I'll upload a higher res version with legend. I'll be keeping an eye out for the discussion as it took me a while to decide which examples/guidelines to followMarcel 03:19, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Greetings from myself[edit]

To you Game Lord. I am Timeoin, from the Elder Scrolls Wiki. As of about a week ago, I am a Sys Op of the Elder Scrolls Wikia :) I must say ... I seriously lol'd when I read the "number of edits" you've made there - it was pretty damn funny :) Secondly - I come in peace :) UESP = pretty damn awesome, and I know that the ES ones are not as good (although, having read some of the OblivioWiki ones, they're sure getting there!) especially in the case of the one im an Admin of, but UESP will always be the main wiki out there, but it shall continue to exist. Anyways - I just wanted to say hi, and say that I come in peace, really! :) Timeoin 12:54, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Hope Jiub isn't still Stuck![edit]

Hopefully Jiub isn't stuck anymore since that's easy to get past without the book. Lord Eydvar 06:56, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Mentor Category[edit]

Hi Game Lord, just wanted to let you know I've gone ahead and removed the category from your userpage that was causing it to show up in the list of current Mentors. I left the rest of your page alone because, frankly, I don't see the harm in leaving the "userbox" there. Anyway, hope you're doing well! –Eshetalk 18:32, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
