Problem with NPC Use Item At animations

There is a glitch when trying to perform one Use Item At package right after another Use Item At package that happens most often in regards to Melee Combat animations. The second one, if a Melee Combat package, will not perform (NPC will just stand there). To correct this place a non-Use Item At package (such as an Eat package) prior to the Melee Combat Use Item At package. 76.187.39.24 17:35, 24 September 2011 (UTC) Rougetet

Problem with NPC Use Item At Weapons: Ranged animations

When trying to set up an Archery practice animation, make sure that the bow is unequipped when the animation starts (set Weapons Unequipped in the Use Item At Weapons:Ranged package). If you don't, the animation may not perform correctly (arrows won't be able to be seen and actually appear to fly at the 0,0 position of the cell - usually happens on the second and subsequent times the package loads). By setting Weapons Unequipped for the package will force the NPC to equip both the bows and arrows when executing the Use Item At Weapons:Ranged animation each time it starts. This "bug"/glitch is present in Vanilla Oblivion with the archer in the Arena Bloodworks and can be viewed there to see what I mean (have to remain there until the second time - the next day - that the archery animation takes place). 76.187.39.24 17:35, 24 September 2011 (UTC) Rougetet

Problem with NPC Dialogue "Freezing"

When Oblivion has a multitude of companion NPCs interacting in the same cell, dialogue between NPCs sometimes seems to "freeze" between a pair of NPCs when the game engine forces them to start a dialogue. Both NPCs will seem to stand there staring at each other and may remain that way even if one or both of their ai packages change. I actually believe that this happens when the game engine has randomly picked a dialogue topic to initiate that only is a topic with one of the NPCs and there is no responses available to that topic with the other NPC picked to have the dialogue (just a guess on my part). The game engine places both of them in a "wait" state waiting for one of the NPCs to respond. If your PC starts a conversation with either of the NPCs in this "frozen" state, this will break this "wait" state and normal ai processing can then continue for both of them. 76.187.39.24 17:35, 24 September 2011 (UTC) Rougetet

Permanent effects from quest items

Is there some way do remove them? I ran into the same thing with the Amulet of Disintegration from SI. Now my gear gets broken everytime i equip it. Oh, and im on the PS3 goty edition so i can't use the fancy console commands.

I had a whole bunch of permanent enchantments from duplicated items on one of my characters. However, once I did the Molag Bal shrine quest, after you get the one guy to kill you and Molag Bal brings you back, all permanent effects should be gone. I don't know if this will work with the quest item glitch but since they both involve forcibly removing an enchanted item I would expect it to work. If you've already done the Molag Bal shrine quest I'm afraid you're out of luck.-142.59.43.44 18:32, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

There is one other way, but it is extremely hard and will forever change your eye color and bonus's from star sign will be gone, also whatever perma effects that you've ever got will be gone. First grab the staff that resurrects people, than get an NPC to equip it, attack him a few times while a guard is around, dont pay the fine and don't go to jail. the guard will start attacking you and if you time it just right, when you die the npc with the staff that resurrects will resurrect you and than you can press the block button and talk to guard, than go to jail or pay fine. I have used this glitch to get rid of vampire status on ps3 because of a quest-related bug. MikeTalk 15:57, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

About the permanent effects from quest items, I would like to ask does the list of quest items affected by this problem is complete. Because a complete list would be useful for modders to make sure to unequip all of problematic items from player before using RemoveAllItems command. - ZuTheSkunk 17:00, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

I am not sure but i believe you can drop quest items. Radryspyguy 06:40, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Floating Paintbrushes turned me invisible!

Ok this is my best character, hadn't saved for some time and messed around with floating paintbrushes in The Imperial City Market, I went into 3rd person to see what I was doing on top of the brush better and realised that I was invisible. I tried going into a shop (Accidentally destroying my autosave) and that didn't work, taking off an item of clothing didn't work. Everything else can see me and it only really bothers me aesthetically but it's bloody annoying! ThePog 10:50, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Aw shite! Tried reloading an earlier save, same problem, still invisible! HELP ME! I'm on the 360 so don't give me console commands or mods. ThePog 10:54, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Try casting an invisibility spell, then ending it prematurely. If that doesn't work, try Chameleon. Not sure if either will work though. --Debatra 16:49, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
I've had similar happen on the PC on various occasions, where my character model decides to stay in one place while my actual character is miles away. Usually it was caused by being killed, then reloading without quitting back to the main menu first. If it happened, going back to the main menu and reloading from there would sort it out (even if I was reloading a save made after the problem had occurred). -  Bomb Bloke (Talk/Contribs) 00:38, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Duplicate Respawning Items New Chest

I found that the vendor chest in the Wastrels Purse contains respawning items, namely, iron arrows, bear pelts and lockpicks. I was trying to see what could be done exploit wise in regards to this chest, in particular, I was trying to use it to clear the stolen flag on the zero price item Stone Brick so I could duplicate them so I could hand fabricate brick structures. The vendor chest is under the floor and can be accessed by jumping into the roof trusses from the top of the stairs and outside of the building then by either falling towards it or by making a staircase out of paintbrushes and walking down to it. I assume most vendor chests contain respawning items but since this is the only one that is accessible in game I thought it should be listed and I welcome your opinions on why it should not, as well as ideas on other things that can be done with it for example stealing back things you sell. I just crashed my game playing with this, just so y'know. Datacaust 07:08, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Try to avoid using 'take all' function, it causes the crashing. Played with this a little more, came up with ideas though im not sure if theres any practical application here. You can sell Dredhwen stuff then steal it back for resale to a fence, this 'reverse-launders' items marking them as stolen. Stealing a few hundred thousand lockpicks only took me a few minutes as putting them back from your inventory increases the amount you take each time this could be used for completing independant thievery quest. Items dropped in the vendor chest appear in Dredhwens inventory list for sale except those marked as stolen, damn. Datacaust 08:00, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
If it is possible to access the vendor chest without cheating then that could be mentioned on the Wastrel's Purse page, though the lack of valuable goods (besides respawing lockpicks) in the chest wouldn't make it that worthy of noting. -- Jplatinum16 14:45, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
I agree that it isn't a major glitch, but if the Paranoia Iron War Axes and the purgeblood salts which are expansion/add on are mentioned this should too. Unless precedent doesn't set the rule. The lockpicks weigh nothing making it easy to carry around a few hundred thousand of them. Though you could just dupe them have fun picking up all those picks and you still wouldn't be able sell them for Independant thievery. This can also be used to skyrocket your Items Stolen stat. I accessed the chest at level 1 using a test character and a duped paintbrush staircase. Datacaust 21:11, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Frozen Deer

I have noticed this time and time again, that while riding my horse through the wilderness looking for bandit camps, I come upon frozen deer who dont run away or move. I also can't shoot or attack them, but as soon as I run up and touch them, the start behaving normally and running away. I don't have any patches and I play X-box. This is just a minor glitch and I havent seen any mention of it on the horse page or deer page/section/thingie, but I might have overlooked it somewhere. Just thought I'd mention it. --The Grey Arrow 22:43, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

I too have noticed this, except the fact that I can kill them and harvest their venison. The deer froze and couldn't move. Obliviongamer 20:05, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

My head is gone!

I went to the testing hall and got the daidric armor and now when I take the helmet off my head is gone. It doesn't actually get in the way but it is very annoying.please help! — Unsigned comment by 173.58.211.65 (talk) at 23:09 on February 15, 2011

the testing area was not meant to be generally accessible to players, as seen in its method of access; unless you're on pc and know the console commands to reverse this, you're looking at going all the way back to before you did it. Drumkommandr 03:13, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
it could be that you put the armor on, casted invisibily/chamo saved, reloaded. that made me (but not my armor) invisible for the longest time. Try casting any invisibility spell and letting the effect expire.MikeTalk 05:51, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
My head is gone too, though it is part of a spell-effect which backfired. I posted an exact description of my problem here. 91.182.151.177 13:14, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

In memory of Glitches

The duping glitch won't work anymore. i used to do it perfectly but now it won't work. Another glitch that stopped working for me is the one when you sell weapons to that orc lady in kvatch while on a horse. i think the dropping a lit torch glitch stopped too. If it helps, this is on 360.

you must have installed update 1.5.11 recently; it eliminates nearly all mass money-making techniques. you can still get infinite shepherd's pie from eyja and make potions to sell, given you're a master of alchemy. however it must be noted that 360 users cannot play SI or KotN without this update, to my great dismay. Drumkommandr 03:11, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

My Duping still works on 360. I'm doing KoTN right now. I am confused. Datacaust 14:51, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Duplicating is still possible, but they patched the original way to do it. Now, on xbox 360, you have to go to your items menu, (you must have a lot of scrolls, nothing over 250, around there) and go to the page where you can see your entire bag of items. (But you have to be on that screen when you go to it (so go to it, get out of the menu and go back in) ). Go down to your scrolls, and select the one you want to use as if casting a spell with it then without doing anything else go up to the item you want to duplicate, and drop it. Exit out of your screen and there you go. Its better to duplicate scrolls back and forth to get more (Ex. duplicate a charm scroll with fire spell scroll, then duplicate the fire scroll with the charm scroll, until you have enough) . Do not use over 300 at the most, or do it too many times in one session of play, as your game will get really slow, and eventually crash. A good item to duplicate, especially for money, are Varla Stones, don't weigh much and cost alot. Oblivious2all590 15:21, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Varla stones cannot be duplicated on the PS3. Many people (including myself) have reported being unable to duplicate Varla stones on the PS3. There is currently no solution to this problem. 174.31.211.115 07:46, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
I have been able to duplicate Varla Stones on the PS3 (Both GOTY edition and Original). I struggled at first, but if you try to do it in a house which you own and only make up to 3 copies on the first attempt (afterwards it doesn't seem to matter). This method usually works for me, let me know if this helps.-- Masterlocksmith 08:35, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Also will not work with any DLC that I know of. (Ex. You can get a varla stone from the Battlehorn Castle DLC but it won't let you duplicate it. Same with hammers from the Shivering Isles) (Two common items) Oblivious2all590 15:25, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

The Kvatch Orc glitch never worked for me, but even after 1.5.11 I've been able to dupe with scrolls. MikeTalk 17:08, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Confirmed. Scroll-duplication works, on the 360 with latest updates. Scrolls can be found in pairs/groups from many magical merchants, found in any city. Permanent effects from scroll-duplicated items are also still possible. Neural Tempest 00:16, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Bar Fight

i was at Olav's Tap and Tack to check on Gromm, i just love seeing grown men cry, and a Nord lady who was wearing a burgandy outfit and she had black hair and looked pretty young, i forgot her name, was suddenly chased out by Gromm. The fight spilled into the streets and Gromm dissapeared. The guards were chasing him and, without him dying, his body just went *Poof* no more Gromm :( but everytime i see that lady she runs really fast but it doesn't say she's fleeing. Has this happened to anyone before? — Unsigned comment by 74.82.64.33 (talk) on 6 March 2011

See Gromm's own page for a little information on this. The woman was probably Skjorta. rpeh •TCE 17:56, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Extension of NPC Spasm Glitch

  • If you shoot an NPC while they are on a flight of stairs they will fall down the stairs and spasm at the bottom. Needs confirmation; tested on a completely un-updated and unpatched GOTY edition, using Everscamps, on the flight of stais leading to the top floor of Rosethorn Hall after it was bought and had all upgrades (Eyja included) purchased.

"Unable to Sit" Glitch -- Quests Affected

A Door in Niben Bay and The Ultimate Heist are currently listed as quests which may potentially be affected detrimentally by the "Unable to Sit" glitch, however The Path of Dawn is not listed. While the quest is only affected if the player chooses to take the meeting rather than Baurus, if the player was previously unaware of the presence of the glitch this could be most problematic; should The Path of Dawn be listed as well?

I suposse so. And also at the begging when you have to sit next to Baurus. JackTurbo95 18:16, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Does any one know how to fix this glitch/bug on the PS3 because it really is annoying

I Guess Gates Need Bows too.......

So here I am on my Best Friend's PS3 and nearby is an Oblivion gate. Oddly enough there are what seems to be 3 Steel bows right below the field of orangeness of an Oblivion Gate. I can't pick them up or anything.Any help or suggestions or questions? (LukaSlayer13 20:54, 23 March 2011 (UTC))

if you clarify what gate, ill check it out. MikeTalk 17:13, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh, okay. It is near Skingrad; (this was awhile back, maybe a year, and i was playing recently, But I think I remember). it was near Skingrad, closer to the Cursed Mine, somewhere. I actually havent been to this section in a little while, since about March, so, sorry for the long wait.I actually have a better description than that. It's more dtailed: Near Skingrad's Main Gate, about west of the Cursed Mine. It was in a flat area.
I just hit a problem, though. When going to the "Unofficial Oblivion Map" (via the "Cursed Mine" page, via "veiw on map") that there were 2 oblivion gates around it. (It could be even harder to find, since most gates are randomly generated, and i doubt you'd find this exact one.) It isn't even really a big deal, and most veiwers probably will vote to take this section down, as it cannot be varified by other players......but anyway:
their coordinates are:
Oblivion Gate 1:
Tamriel (-91234, 3718)
Oblivion Gate 2:
Tamriel (-88500, -4857)
when i write, i get carried away, dont I? (that's retorical)

Accidental duplication

I was trying to do the Sanguine quest, and I couldn't find out how to do it, so I looked it up online. They said I had to dress up. I didn't have anything adequate with me, so I had to leave the castle. I came back and failed the first time, but the second time it worked. I went to jail and served my time, then went back to the shrine of sanguine. When I got my stuff back, I noticed that I had two Duskfangs. I have never done a duplicate cheat and still, I have two of them. Now, neither one will turn into Dawnfang or either of the superiors. any suggestions? — Unsigned comment by 67.143.34.64 (talk) at 16:28 on March 24, 2011

A similar thing happened to me once. I had completed SI and I was in the Imperial City slaughtering guards with Dusk Fang and then it changed to dawnfang S. but I still had Duskfang in my INV so I sold it and bought it back and it turned into another dawnfang S. Does any1 know a reason for this? The Random Cow Says Moo. 82.7.83.64 17:13, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Dawnfang and Duskfang change into their counterparts at dawn and dusk. Therefore if you happened to complete the sanguine quest when dawnfang/duskfang were due to switch the game glitches and you receive two scriptless swords. --Manic 15:16, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Dawnfang/Duskfang duplication is mentioned on it's page but not using this method and it also doesn't state that the duplicates are scriptless. Someone should test this and update the page with the correct info. Datacaust 15:35, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

I think this is not a reliable source of duplication and that it is most likley a one off kind of glitch. For some reason whenever items are duplicated they lose scripts. However I have yet to find a glitch to remove the script that makes an item a quest item. The Ring of Vipereye always remains a quest item whenever I duplicate it. --Manic 11:18, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Another way is if you are on a horse with one of them equiped. When they switch out the one you have cant be unequiped so it stays

Equip almost any NPC with Super-Protective Armor

By following the "Permanent Bound Items" Glitch, And having a good understanding of enchantment effects, and being aware of the "Reverse Pick-pocketing" glitch, I've Figured out a way to give Almost any NPC, a complete set of weightless armor, which provides 60% resistance to Miscellaneous Magic (Any magic which is considered Non-Elemental. Example: Drain Health, Damage Fatigue, Silence, Paralysis etc...) 85% Shield Effect, (which reduces any physical damage by 85% percent), 85% resistance to Shock, Frost, and fire.

Simply Conjure any piece of bound armor, and once casted, damage the armor's durability with having a goblin or, really any creature, OR make a spell that Disintegrates armor on self. Alternately, if you have the Amulet of Disintegration, this will work fine as well. Damage the bound armor or weapon you wish to make permanent, use a repair hammer to repair the item, (you do not have to repair it to 100% durability.) then once repaired, drop the item, and wait for the spell to have worn off, then pick up the weapon. It is now permanent. Do this until you have every piece of bound armor, and i recommend a bound sword as well, for you can also give the npc's the most powerful base attack weapon in the game, which you can enchant to your liking. I recommend an Absorb Health enchantment provided by a Transcendent Sigil Stone. Note: If you want a slightly different look, the helms can be replaced with the rare "Black Hood" as it is also weightless, and as the enchantments will provide the maximum 85% shield, you arent going to lose any defense by switching the helm out for a hood. "Mage's hood" will also work.

Once you have an entire set, Obtain Transcendent Sigil Stones with the following effects: Shock Shield, Frost Shield, Fire Shield, and Resist magic. Also, be sure to get an Absorb Health one, if you wish to give the NPC a good weapon. Simply go to an oblivion gate, and save before you active the sigil stone. If you did not get the stone you want, simply reload, and try again, and since it is randomly determined what effects it has as it goes into your inventory, you can keep reloading until you get the stone you desire. Note: Since Transcendent Stones are hard to come by, I suggest using the "Duplication Glitch" to make several copies of each stone, in case you have further need of them. Then enchant your suit in the following way:

Helm/Hood: Resist Magic 20% Cuirass: Shock Shield 25% Shield: Fire Shield 25% Greaves: Frost Shield 25% Gauntlets: Resist Magic 20% Boots: Resist Magic 20%

Now that you have the suit of armor, I suggest you use the "Duplication Glitch" once again to make as many suits of armor you are going to use. Since all of the armor is weightless, you can make as many as you wish. Go to any NPC and go into sneak mode. Access its inventory, and switch it to Store item, as though you were placing an item in a crate. Place the entire suit of armor and the sword into their inventory. leave the area in which the NPC was, Save game, and reload the save. When you enter the area again, they will be wearing the armor, has the sword equipped, and be nearly invulnerable to enemies. This is useful when you need to keep an NPC alive, or if you just want someone wearing Daedric. I have made suits for the entire rosters of the factions i control. so in my game, all fighters guild, mages guild, etc. are wearing Daedric armor, and are practically immortal.

BUGS: 1.NPC's will not equip the armor, if they are wearing superior armor already, this is determined by the Defense Rating of the armor, not its enchantments, so if you put a bound suit on someone who is wearing standard Daedric armor, they will continue to wear the Daedric armor, despite the bound armor ACTUALLY being the superior armor. 2.It will work on respawning NPC's such as fighters guild porters, bandits and guards, however after a few in-game days, since they respawn, the armor and sword will disappear. Sani Kiren 05:16, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Sani Kiren

I don't understand how this would be a glitch. It all uses the basic game mechanics. Similar information can be found here. Also, that isn't really invincible... --DKong27 Talk Cont 14:45, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
It is a glitch, as it combines several glitches, "duplicate item", "Reverse Pickpocketing", "Permanent Bound Items" and "Transcendent Stone Selection". And I assure you, Go into a bandit cave, turn invisible, Use this on method on the first one you see, and cast command humanoid. This bandit WILL slaughter any and all other bandits, and i've yet to have an NPC die whilst wearing this armor, lest it was by my own hand. Note the armor is even more effective on Orcs, and bretons, as they become completely invulnerable to magic. Sani Kiren 16:04, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Sani Kiren
Once again this clearly isn't a glitch, I would describe it as an exploit at best. Also the armor isn't making them invincible if you can kill them, why wouldn't you count yourself? --AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:27, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
The closest i come to saying "Invincible" is "Practically Immortal" as in they can technically die, but they WILL not die, unless you deliberately try to kill them. Sani Kiren 16:32, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Sani Kiren

Transcendent Sigil Stones Cant be Activated

I have encountered a problem several times, in which when i clear an oblivion gate, i am unable to activate the sigil stone to close said gate. It is in its correct spot, and appears perfectly normal, however i cannot activate it. ive tried moving around, crouching, getting at it from different angles, and it doesnt work. it doesnt do this with every sigil stone, and i often found myself, at the start of each oblivion gate, hoping that this stone would be able to be activated. this particularly irked me when two of the stones required for the aid for bruma quest were unobtainable, and i could not complete the mission entirely, as i wished to. i have had multiple characters on oblivion, and this has happened to me on 3 of them. This was on 360. Sani Kiren 03:38, 28 March 2011 (UTC)Sani Kiren

I too have encountered this problem. The only way to attempt to prevent this on 360 is to save before entering a gate. --Manic 11:21, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Did you encounter this problem when, say, you were closing the gates of Kvatch or Bruma with the guards' help? Try making a new save now, do the end of the aid for bruma quest when you fight the masses of daedra with the soldiers and see if you can close the Great Gate. If you can't close the Great Gate either, then you have me baffled. Arcansas 09:51, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

This happened to me several time while I was playing with my Imperial. I think it might have something to do with entering an oblivion gate that has another gate inside it because when I did it, I left through the alternate gate then entered back in through the same gate gate, closed it, then when I went into the original gate I couldn't activate the sigil stone. And even after that I've been saving even before I "find" an oblivion gate and I still couldn't activate some gates. But with my High Elf I decided to not exit out of any alternate gates while in a plane that has one and I have had no problems whatsoever closing gates ever since. Hope this helps because with my previous character all I wanted to do was close all 60 gates and almost ever other one was glitched out. Lucife Decon

Zombies popping up where they aren't wanted.

This probably isn't replicable, but it's happened to me twice - zombies popping up in places after I've been in a ruin (or cave) that's contained them. The first time was quite funny, I did the mage's guild quest Liberation or Apprehension? and I believe (since it was a while ago) that I fast traveled back to the Arcane University. When I did so, I found Mucianus Allias (in his zombie form, of course) running in constant 'flee' mode around the outside of the University. I just thought this was a simple, one-time glitch so I pretty much just carried on. However, recently while playing Oblivion again, I had sneaked my way through a dungeon containing zombies, exited, and then entered an Oblivion gate to close it. Halfway through the area, a zombie popped up on one of the bridges between the 'towers'. At first I thought it might have followed me in there (can creatures even do that?) but then realised that it hadn't been behind me. I'm not sure if this can happen with any creature or whether it's zombie-specific. Has this happened to anyone else? VoxVerdugo 00:01, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Cowl of the Druid Problem!!

Minor Glitch: Marking items as stolen.

To mark a non-stolen item as stolen you need to access a container with a red icon, ie. one that would result in theft if you took an item from it. Now:

  1. Activate the container.
  2. Switch to your inventory, place item(s) in the container.
  3. Switch to container's inventory, remove item(s).
  4. Switch to your inventory, place item(s) in the container.
  5. Exit the container.
  6. Activate the container, then remove the item(s) and exit the container.
  7. Check your inventory for newly stolen item(s).

Practical applications for this could be:

  1. Completing Independant Thievery
  2. Generating items for the separately stacked items not removing glitch.

Datacaust 05:06, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

In my fully Officially and Unofficially patched PC version, I could not replicate. I have read elsewhere that your items keep their ownership, even when in a stolen container and this held true. --DKong27 Talk Cont 02:18, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm on 360 updated gold live with all DLC. I'll double check my process to see if I missed a step. I tested this in The Tiber Septim Hotel as well as another location in SI with Nirnroot, ayleid statue, and the items from vampire cure quest. Maybe it's your UOP? Datacaust 02:29, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
Just tested this again in The Oak and Crosier in a barrel with a red icon with a single potion, a group of 22 potions, a weightless unenchanted clothing item and Umaril's sword. I reworded the directions to avoid any possible confusion. Datacaust 04:57, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Can someone else confirm this works? Datacaust 16:54, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

I tried with your updated directions and it worked, but not reliably. I'm not sure if it was because I was not consistent in my testing or if it is just only effective part of the time...I got it to work on 2 items of the 5 I tried, but the ones that didn't work were tested multiple times. --DKong27 Talk Cont 01:06, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
What items didn't work? 207.216.130.182 01:38, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
There was a set of clothing and a dagger. I think the dagger was standard iron, but the clothing was mod-related. --DKong27 Talk Cont 01:41, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
I have absolutely, unequivocally confirmed this on an Xbox 360, current updates and patches, running the GoTY Edition. I used the "off-limits barrel" by Myvyrna Arano's house in the waterfront district of the Imperial city, and this glitch worked for the following items:
1. Bound Helmet
2. Bound Sword
3. Bound Dagger
4. Bound Bow
5. Calliben's Grim Retort
6. Warhammer of the Dynamo
7. Cuirass of the Undefeated
8. Daedric Boots
9. Biography of Barenziah, V 2
10. Commanding Touch (scroll)
11. Azura's Star
12. Grand Soul Gem (empty)
13. Varla Stone
14. Welkynd Stone
15. Flawless Diamond
16. Repair Hammer
17. Sapphire
18. Stone Brick
19. Master Retort
20. Ale
21. Cyrodilic Brandy
22. Apple
23. Nirnroot
This does not however, work for Wrist Irons. I tried them multiple times, and this did not work.- Neural Tempest 22:27, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

When I sell one of a stolen group of items made like this the rest become not stolen, or arent stolen to begin with or something. More testing required. With a new character I started Independant Thievery, went to bruma joined mages guild, took all the alchemy stuff with the tutorial loot, make it stolen, sell to fence, buy back, make stolen, sell. Archiving Oblivion:Glitches/Proposed

This page is quite a mess, the easiest solution to clean it up would be to archive it. For some reason despite it being treated like a talk page it has never been archived like a talk page should, leading to it being ridiculously long and just overall unpleasant to look at. So is there an actual reason it has never been archived, or can we go ahead an archive it? --AKB Talk Cont Mail 23:39, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Actually, it has been archived from time to time, but the horrible way the whole thing is set up makes it difficult to tell. It gets archived to the archives for this page. If you want to go ahead, please do! At some point we ought to look at changing back to an article/talk format instead of article/proposed/talk. rpeh •TCE 07:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
How About merging the same questions together using the best wrote ones and adding new info discribed by the others ones. --Candc4 22:14, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
Instead of archiving the whole page can the resolved issues have their sections moved? Archiving unresolved issues seems counter-productive. Datacaust 15:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
The trouble is that most of the issues on this page are 1-offs, mod-caused or otherwise boring. rpeh •TCE 15:44, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Well some of us could try some , and then report back on how it is. The ones which are mod-caused or 1-offs should be off the page. JackTurbo95 15:48, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
There's really no need for some kind of Proposed Glitches reformation, in my opinion. It's just a cluttered page that hasn't been archived in a long time, and the solution is as simple as. Legoless 15:50, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
FYI, the last discussion on this topic (kind of) was here. rpeh •TCE 16:20, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

OK, Somebody just has to go through all of these. Can we put a "Tag" or something marking a section as belonging on the appropriate page? For Example; Glitches, unresolved minor issues, deletion or a quest/npc page etc. Datacaust 20:21, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

It has been archived. I think I did a truly horrible job archiving it though due to the added confusion from never archiving anything, and this strange setup. Either way now we can go to Oblivion:Glitches/Proposed without worrying about that massive wall of text that used to be there. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:40, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Dude if your not sure how to do something maybe you shouldn't and besides I think you may have violated the pages own guidlines right there. Can I at least volunteer to go through all that crap first? Datacaust 20:43, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
What guidelines? I see no information specific to archiving glitches, and more importantly i believe I made an error because of the weird setup, not my inexperience. If you are referring to this conversation as setting the guidelines for this and you may be aware there is both no clear consensus, and an already approved method of dealing with this. That method being archiving. The reason I removed so much of the "crap" is because that is exactly what that page was, a horrible piece of crap that has been ignored for the longest time. It was primarily edited by people who don't know how to edit, and it clearly showed. Go through it and pull something out of the new archive if you think that a conversation was still relevant, I don't really care. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:52, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Edit: For the record the reason I went ahead with the archival was because no one else seemed willing to. Most of that page needed to go. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:53, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah looking through it is pretty bleak but there was stuff that should have been removed entirely as well as stuff that could have gone on the site. Mainly I think this page needs to be managed better. To keep the crap from piling up like that. Chill out, guidelines. Datacaust 21:03, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Sorry for the harsher tone, really. But as you said it was (I'm paraphrasing) a pretty useless page. It would of been easier to just archive it to start anew you understand? If you wish to set new policies or guidelines on how we handle this page you have my full support, I never want to see a page like this build up to what it became. Either way this is the best time to decide how to now handle the page as it is now mostly clean. I suggest you start a new conversation thread though, as this sections main concern and intended topic (archiving the page) has been resolved. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 21:08, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
As far as I can see you did it exactly right. The only thing I changed was the date on the new archive: it's for individual conversations (eg UESPWiki:Archive/CP 'Must Have' and Mods) to help them be found more easily based on when they took place, not for when they were archived. Thanks for doing it! rpeh •TCE 07:47, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

It smells like crap in the archives!

The page allows for removal of content under the condition, "Glitches which cannot be confirmed under the exact same circumstances as described should be removed from the page.". That and the guidelines should prevent stuff from accumulating. Datacaust 21:16, 20 April 2011 (UTC) There should be a clean up that takes place before archiving. To keep stuff that doesn't belong there, that doesn't follow the guidelines or that belongs on the site out of there. A change to the archiving rules for this page plus allowing for deletion due to not following guidelines would help. That and regular attention. Datacaust 21:25, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

There should really be more guidelines for removing useless glitch-talk, particularly the repeated material. The archives however, are an entirely different matter. I have been in the archives (three of them, out of seventeen), and I shall never click one of those links again. It is a massive pile of useless, disconnected, disjointed chatter. If you want to recruit someone to sift through that mess, and sort it out, go right ahead. I'm just saying you probably won't find many volunteers. -Neural Tempest 21:49, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
I look at them it's a mess--Candc4 21:54, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
While I sometimes go through to fix indentation, add {{unsigned}} templates or move sections to their chronologically correct position, actually deleting conversations should never be done. It's supposed to be a full archive of everything that was said. rpeh •TCE 07:49, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah that's why I wanted to go through that stuff before archiving because this page specifically allows for removal/restriction of content. Datacaust 14:31, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

WHAT??????

Where did all of the sections go? Seriously! i had like 3 comments and i can ONLY find them when going to the history, then through some redirects, and finally to an older page or version of this page. I dont perticularly like the rule of "if the glitch or bug cannot be confirmed or varified in a similar circumstance, then the section is rendered as useless and should be deleted" thing. The guidelines on that certain part about talk pages is rediculous. I wanted to see if anyone replied to my plea of help to the horrible freezing glitch i encountered, and it was certainly confirmed, by me, as i was in a similar circumstance as the writer was. Someone telll me what happened to the other sections. My guess is that because this page is not archived, the sections must have been filtered out of the page, due to comments about its "unsightly look" or its "length". I guess i was a little rude just now but you guys ( me too!) need to resolve this matter. I really needed to know if anyone could tell me my game's problem, but not anymore. Although, one contributor "Mike", did help by asking for.... well, just look at the bottom of the page for "I guess gates need bows too...." and you'll see; thanks Mike...i guess...

LukaSlayer13 20:07, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Your other comments and their associated discussions are located in Archive 16 (there's a link at the top of this page). If you're still having the freezing issue, you can repost it here if you wish, or hit up the site's forums where some users may be able to give you direct advice. As for the policy of archiving older discussions (especially ones that had no clear answer), it's an unfortunate necessity, otherwise the page would become far too large to effectively manage. NPCs don't load arrow into bow after waking up

A fellow on the uesp forums said this was a known bug yet I couldn't find it anywhere on the UESP site. If someone who uses a bow sleeps and you are in the same cell as they are, so you watch them wake up, or even initiate a fight with them to wake them up, they won't load an arrow into their bow, despite doing the full animation and attempting to fire. Should this be included on the main page? dtm 13:07, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

I can imagine this would be hard to implement practically in game. Testing is needed, determining the cause might help find an application. I bet it's to do with the quiver not being equipped. If the glitch exists it should be documented somewhere. Datacaust 17:18, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Well a few things it affects are guards if you've gone into a murderous rage in their barracks, sleeping bandits archers you ambush, and especially Alawen, the Marksman Master Trainer. I suppose its possible that many people will not encounter this during their playthrough, but many others may think something is wrong with their game, that it's a minor bug, or that they are just dodging arrows very well (which is what I thought for a while).
I'll try to be more specific. The quiver is on her back with a full amount of arrows, the bow is in her hand, the archer will do the full firing animation from start to finish, the only difference being no arrow was ever put on the string or left the bow and no damage was done.
From my experience and seeing the Alawen talk page, this is especially annoying for trying to keep Alawen alive. Her huge radius of hunting and other glitches with her often cause her to end up at the unmarked bandit camp West of Dasek Moor. If at night time, she will be sleeping with the bandit there. If you fast travel and go there, a person may be too late and find her dead and assume she lost a fight against a strong bandit. I managed to get there and she was sleeping so I stayed in sneak mode and watched from afar to see who would win. The bandit approached her and they began to fight and I was curious as to why the bandit was showing no signs of damage. Looking closely, arrows never left Alawen's bow or were ever put on the string.
If anyone needs help recreating this. Simply watch her sleep at her own troll candle camp, start a fight with her and stand still. No arrow will hit you or ever be loaded onto her bow. dtm 23:59, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

I have looked into this and found that the archer in the Arena Bloodworks doesn't load arrows into his bow either after waking up. Obliviongamer 20:17, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Limitless Fortified attributes?

From what I gather about the duplication bugs, and what I have read, it seems that ANY player, on ANY system, with ANY character can use the dupe-bugs and sigil-stone selection to infinitely fortify thier attributes, health, fatigue and magicka.

Step 1- Find the right stone
Step 2- Find the right clothes
Step 3- Duplicate stones
Step 4- Duplicate clothes
Step 5- Enchant items with different names
Step 6- Equip each item in sequence, then duplicate again to gain the permanent enchantment

It seems to me that all a player needs is time, and they can have 6000+ health, strength and magicka. Is this even possible? Or is there some upper-limit or safety threshold? I'd test this theory myself, but I don't want my XBOX to explode (or cease-up, more likely).- Neural Tempest 02:59, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah that's how it works. I've heard you can crash your game by increasing your speed/acrobatics too much. Can't confirm anything though I kept my stuff reasonable. Datacaust 04:05, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Well I think we already knew that it works, and we know how it works, but I think we should try to find the limit or boundry, because at some point 100+ permanent enchantments might cause side-effects. It's the boundry part of this glitch that could use more info in my opinion. The "current effects" page already fails to show all feather spells if 8 or more are active, so if 50 or so "Fortify Strength" enchantments were active, would the game even work with them all? Or would it limit itself through some passive protocol? I couldn't find a limit myself, but I tried this for an hour before I gave up, at which point I had so many duplicate items the menu/journal was lagging. Fortify magicka did not seem to have a practical limit, but I just stayed around my Imperial City house (because it's a small cell), and did not test the enchantment's function in heavy combat. I'm just curious to see how far this glitch can be pushed.- Neural Tempest 21:02, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Lock-Ups on Loading Screens

I am SO tired of looking through thousands of pages across the Internet about the fragmented cache and clearing it. I seriously need to know the difference between "deleting" and "clearing" the cache. It is used interchangeably by many and I get puzzled. It seems to affect only my Autosave and any save in a Dungeon. I was in Oblivion going through a spire to find the sigil stone when it froze. The screen:freezes. Then, if I press the dashboard button then get rid of the box again, the screen is then fragmented in strips of random accordance. Any repairing such as holding A during the boot to clear the bad files has done nothing . I made a new file already, which works fine. I passed my previous level. All it points to is to do what I did or nothing (since no fix has arised). I once got through but my character couldnt move at all, unless rotation counts. I was APPARENTLY attacking (I don't REMEMBER hitting the doorman with a warhammer....) but again frozen. Aaagh who am I to say that no one will reply anyway? I never get a straight answer. After this terribly long message I would hope that one person has the decency to save me from the demise of my playthrough. May Skyrim bring less glitches and more dragons so that Tamriel is a better place, LukaSlayer13 19:31, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm preettty sure what you are describing was happening to me and I fixed it. The affected save files are trash, however. I also was having problems with the hold "A" thing, still not to sure about that one. Make sure you are fully updated by connecting to Xbox live silver or gold and attempting to play the game, this apparently fixes the Reference Bug. Otherwise your save file may have become to large for one reason or another. Suspecting this was the case I went through all my houses and cleared out as much redundant junk as I could then either sold it or dumped it in a respawning container and waited three days. This included nearly 1000 assorted bones and 500 skulls I had collected and piled all over Benirus Manor. My files work fine now, however I no longer collect items with that character. 410 hours on character. Datacaust 21:19, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Fighters guild members at Jail

Ive seem to have a glitch with the two fighters guild members from the Drunk and Disorderly Fighters guild quest. After I had finished the questline, everytime I serve time in Jail or pay my bounty and I spawn at the front of the jails ( any jail except shivering Isle's) the two fighters guild members are always there ( Rellian and Dubok gro-Shagk).

What is the cause of this glitch and how do I fix it ( if I can) I am on xbox so there are no mods and no Console.

I fail to see how this is a problem. Datacaust 17:58, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
I get the same thing with the goblin cave members. The three of them always spawn outside of the jail I just got out of.--Iamgoofball 22:41, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Some NPC's in quests that may be killed do this. However it has no effect on the gameplay. Be aware if you attack a guard they may attempt to protect you and die in the process. The Cleasning of the High Fane quest and its sequal quest produce two more NPC's who follow you to jail if they are not killed. --Manic 16:27, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Permanent unknown disease and fighter's guild glitch

Somewhere along the lines of the Shivering Isles questline I contracted an unknown disease that cannot be cured. Whenever I walk up to a NPC they say something along the lines of "Get away you beast!" or "You're not getting any of my blood" I know that at one point I had contracted the vampirism disease, but I immediately cured it. This glitch is extremely annoying as I cannot talk to any new NPC's to begin questlines since they are afraid of me. I have used a few dozen cure disease potions and cure poisons, but all the NPC's still say I look pale when I walk past. I have no idea what cause this, but it's just another random glitch I found.

Another is the fighter's guild quest that requires you to find the body in the bottom of the ogre cave. If you enter this cave prior to getting the quest (I like to explore) and kill the ogres, you can NOT complete this quest when you get it, as the body does not spawn in the cave.

Try talking to the Count of Skingrad to see if he will talk to you about finding a cure, which will then activate a quest that let's you cure your vampirism and earn a considerable amount of gold. Obliviongamer 20:24, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Firstly, check your magic effects. If you're a legitimate vampire you should have sun damage, weakness to fire and resist normal weapons, to pinpoint the prominent effects. Secondly, you say you already cured yourself? Did you sleep and then get a prompt about a weird dream involving blood? If you did, you can't cure it without the Vampire Cure quest. Thirdly, even if you didn't wait three days you can still become a vampire, it seems to be that the game calculates the total amount of time you have the disease no matter how many times you contract and cure it, so you can potentially get the disease and then be a full vampire straight away, but that's just in my game. Can I ask for someone to test this? Arcansas 10:05, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Still no luck on figuring this out. I've tried every way to get rid of the disease, talked to the count, tried the bloodgrass quest, actually contracted vampirism on purpose then cured it, nothing works... GrizzlyXStrait Xbox360

Constant enemies nearby glitch!!!! Please help!!!!

Ok so I was just about to finish the ultimate heist quest. When I walked in to the castle the danger music started playing and guards started shouting things like "where are you" and "to arms! to arms!" and would start running around with their weapons sheathed. I couldn't talk to them. When I tried to wait it claimed there were enemies nearby. Another thing was one of the residents there acted as if he was a bandit in a dungeon and said something like "I should cut down on the ale - I'm starting to see things"

At first, this just made me laugh so I just ignored it and tried to talk to the countess, but suddenly she got up and started looking left and right - I tried to talk to her but it claimed she was fleeing I also tried to talk to the "stranger" (aka the gray fox) and he just kept doing the same thing.

So I left the castle, and fortunately the danger music stopped playing and everyone stopped going crazy. But now I still have a problem! I still can't wait as there are still enemies nearby. My last save was like 2 days of solid gameplay ago (I'm not joking) - I can't wait, sleep, level up etc. - Even if I go in the shivering Isles it still claims there are enemies nearby.

someone please help!!! 213.107.186.105 13:47, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Ouch. Did you run from the King of Miscangard? That could cause the permant enemies glitch you are talking about. If so, it's probable that he's still chasing you from the ruins. You should steal a piece of gold or something from a beggar in front of a guard. Press the "Pay Fine" button. It should teleport you outside of the castle, and the King and his minions should be there. Kill them. Fortunatly, the guards should help because of the King being a monster. Thanks for helping, but I did Miscarcand ages ago. And waiting in jail doesn't really do anything. The minute I come out of jail, I still can't wait and the guards start shouting the usual rubbish like "where are you?" but they just stand there doing nothing.

I have the same problem, I can't fast-travel either, and I always fast travel, so it's pretty annoying

Unable to equip any shield.

I had a bound shield that I summoned and repaired (after taking some damage) so I could keep it. after a few hours it just stopped showing up on my arm (even with nothing else equipped) and I can no longer equip any shield. I've tried all different kinds (Steel, Mithril, Elven, Dwarven, Daedric, Glass) to no avail. It doesn't bother me much as I can live without them just a glitch from a permanent bound item. — Unsigned comment by 24.121.212.203 (talk) at 16:02 on 5 June 2011

Being A Ghost!

When closing an oblivion gate, when you take the sigil stone and manage to kill yourself, in the normal world you will be, in a way, a ghost. The camera view is very low, and you can't see yourself at all in third person view. You can see your arm/ weapons in first person, though. You can still talk to people and continue quests.

This happened to me, although not with the main quest. It happened during the quest "Liberation or aprehension?" - I walked in to one of the zones in Nenyond Twyll and suddenly I was really low down and I couldn't change to third person as you said. I could also see strange floating black squares in the area. The only way of fixing it was to save in the glitched area, restart the xbox and load the save. 213.107.186.105 20:43, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Minimap Glitch?

I didnt see this mentioned anywhere (but if i missed it, my apologies.) In several areas like random oblivion maps and Pale Pass, your regional map location stays static, but your minimap location changes. But quite routinely it seems to suddenly stop recording where the PCs been, and the actual marker denoting their location is gone as well. In addition, it may actually move the view of your minimap away from where it should be, but due to the patterns used in such areas, I have no ability to confirm this. However the first two parts, 100% certainty. 74.128.56.194 18:48, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm having the same problem in Pale Pass, but seemingly to a worse extent. My player arrow and all symbols (doors into Serpent's Trail and the fort) have disappeared, and the map no longer follows my location. This seems to come and go, but is very annoying. --68.199.188.238 19:21, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

I think it's because The Serpent's Trail and Pale Pass don't actually have a location on the map, to prevent you accidentally going there.

To execute this maneuver, the player must time a jump at the exact point that he or she reaches an upward shift in elevation. For example, to access rooftops in the Imperial City:

1.) Choose a staircase near a building

2.) Run up the staircase

3.) At the exact moment you reach the top of the staircase, hit the jump button

When using staircases, it is often possible to mash the jump button as you ascend the staircase and attain the higher jump as a matter of luck. Most terrain, however, requires you to time the jump precisely as you change elevation. For example, it is possible to reach Imperial City rooftops using the sidewalks instead:

1.) Find any sidewalk near a building

2.) Starting on the street a short distance away, run toward the sidewalk

3.) At the exact moment the character hits the sidewalk, hit the jump button

The specific type of terrain is any sheer drop that does not require a jump to overcome--this can range from a paved street onto a sidewalk to a single brick on the ground of a fort. The player must always be moving from the lower plane towards the higher plane, and the jump must be carefully timed at the point where the elevation changes to achieve the best results.

While this effect is noticeable at any speed, it becomes significantly more pronounced as Speed and Acrobatics increase. Any item or spell that directly increases Speed or Acrobatics stats (i.e., the Adrenaline Rush greater power or Fortify Attribute enchantments, potions, or spells) or that indirectly allows the player to move faster (i.e., low encumbrance via Feather spells, potions, or by dropping items) increases the maximum height of the jump. At very high speeds, achieving the highest possible jump is very likely to injure the player on landing.

It is HIGHLY advisable that players save before executing this maneuver, especially in interior cells such as Ayleid Ruins, forts, homes, etc., as it may be possible to trap oneself in areas where fast-travel is not available. Also, high-jumping into areas that are normally restricted to specific quest stages may prevent the quest from being completed or affect its normal progress.

So you consider the ability to take a running jump a glitch? That type of thing exists in most games as your skills increase. --Brf 18:42, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
This isn't a typical running jump--it only occurs when traversing specific terrain as explained above. When done correctly, it causes you to jump higher than by any other means (many times higher, if Speed and Acrobatics are high enough), and it does allow access to areas that are normally completely inaccessible. I have only confirmed this on XBOX 360, but it does work. Do you have suggestions as to where I can post a video or screenshots, other than YouTube? 67.78.96.92 20:16, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Art
Yes. As you say: If your skills are high enough. That is not really unusual in RPGs. Have you seen how high you can jump in Morrowind? --Brf 20:30, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
There was a glitch like this in the original Quake involving the same situation. The problem is reproduction, can this be performed reliably Otherwise I support putting this up. --Datacaust 21:48, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
I believe it can be performed reliably. I have used it regularly in several save files, before and after KotN and SI, with normal stats (Speed and Acrobatics ~50-80) as well as highly augmented (Speed 500+). Depending on the specific area though, it may take a bit of trial and error. In cramped spaces like Ayleid ruins it can take some finagling, in large part because of the overhead obstacles--I managed to get to a normally-inaccessible elevated walkway in the Ayleid ruin Malada this morning, but only after a few minutes and quite a few attempts (specifically, the door at C, which is normally only accessible during the quest Nothing You Can Possess). Open areas like towns make it much easier to pull off. With a bit of practice, it can be a sure bet with sidewalks and stairs. I'll post a YouTube video later tonight or tomorrow. 67.78.96.92 23:26, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Art
I have experienced this as well, it is definitely not any sort of normal high acrobatics type of jump, trust me. It is hard to trigger though, but as mentioned, I can make it trigger by jumping on the upper end of small stairs for example, but I haven't been able to pull it off much though ~ Dwarfmp 04:18, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Anybody care to put this up somewhere? Datacaust 15:29, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Dorian, a civilian in the "Talos Plaza District", has unlimted money.

So i looked up "easy money in Oblivion" and it told me this "Get a paralyze spell or get a paralyze staff" so i got a paralyze staff by joining the arcane academy and doing a quest. If you have enough money and magicka space to use the paralyze spell, I would recommend that since it is way quicker.(If getting staff you have to "create" your staff. Choose "Illusion" then choose "Paralyze")

After that, you go to Dorian's house in the Talos Plaza District. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO STOLEN ITEMS ON YOU. Go into his house if it is unlocked, then paralyze Dorian. Now quickly pickpocket him, as the paralyze spell will only last 6(staff) to 7(spell) seconds.

You will notice that his money does not disappear when you click it. Since he is paralyzed he cannot catch you.

When you have a million or so gold, leave his house. This is where the part where you DO NOT HAVE ANY STOLEN ITEMS ON YOU comes in. When you walk outside, a guard will walk up to you. You will have to: -Pay 40 gold(For assault because you paralyzed him. Pickpocket charges are not added cause he did not catch you. CAUTION:YOU WILL LOSE STOLEN ITEMS. I lost very important stolen keys because i forgot to store them away.) -Resist Arrest(Why when your a millionaire? Just pay the fine.) -Serve Sentence(Just pay the fine. LOL)

I hope this helps you people who are looking forward to being rich in oblivion :) I have 1.5 million gold now :) P.S. It took me 30 minutes to get that much :P

its already mentioned on his page and please sign your talk posts with four of these ~ (Eddie the head 06:34, 3 July 2011 (UTC))

Constant rain anywhere

I was teleporting from Frostcrag Spire to the Chorrol Mages Guild and then when i went outside a guard arrested me and I went to the jail but now no matter what there is constant rain falling on my screen even when i'm inside of buildings. This is very annoying and sometimes it blocks my view of things.

Can you reproduce this? Datacaust 14:41, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Climbing Out of Skingrad

I notice on the glitch list, it talks about how to climb out of towns but Skingrad wasn't on the list.

So I decided to figure a way to do so and I did.

Near the Mages Guild lies a statue, in which has a rock nearby. You can jump from this rock to an edge of the building. Moving around the building on this edge til you are on part where you are between the two buildings. If your Acrobatics is high enough (I had 75 + 50) you should be able to jump from the edge of the building you are on to the roof of the other nearby. You will NOT be able to run up the roof and be slowly sliding downwards, unless you are constantly running. From here you can jump roof to roof til you are on the roof of Your Skingrad House. From this point you should find a good spot to stand on and you can jump from your house to the building near the gate. From here, you can jump from this building onto the walls and there you go.

Note: SAVE often. I fail many times attempting this.

SWAMP TROLL GLITICH!!!!!!!!

i was doing a mission for the fighters guild, to go into the swamp troll cave to find the missing fighters guild members.I entered the cave and did what i was to do. As it turns out i can't leave the swamp troll cave, this must be a glitich because every time reload the save to enter the place and do what i was to do. as i exit the place the game freezes.I seriously don't why this happens, like i said before this should be listed as a glitich but it isn't.

This is not a glitch. I have had this in various places. Try installing your game to the hardrive. Mine kept crashing because this disk was in poor condition. I borrowed a friends, installed it, problem solved. --Manic 15:11, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Custom Spell Deltetion

On the pc, the game may crash while entering an area and initiating an auto save. Chances are after that; the game file will not be able to be loaded, the message to the extent of "Corrupt Saved Data" will appear. Fine and dandy, go back to an earlier save right? Well for some reason most every time I revert to an earlier save (after this crash) I no longer have my custom spells or enchanted items. Any HELP or sympathy would be appreciated. 173.55.77.23 06:12, 12 July 2011 (UTC)MOSIZ

You might, by chance, be having the same problem I have. At the bottom of this page I've listed the fullest extents of a really annoying scripting glitch that comes along when your character appears to be overly powerful. Read about "Duplicate Regular Items, Can't Create New Items", does any of that ever happen to you? 2:03PM, 16 July 2011 (UTC) Arcansas

Expliation mark glitch

Sometimes when i play oblivion (360) at random times a big black explaiton mark with a triangle backround with yellow color pops up. Also when i enter houses I will fall through the floor

Where does it pop up? It usually signifies content from the game that was removed, yet is still supposed to be there, in a sense, such as Missing Names, which you can find on the corpses of clones. Arcansas

This is caused by disc scratches next time install the game to your hard drive by going into the game library in your dashboard, finding the oblivion tab and choosing "Install to hard drive". You can rent a copy and Install that one, then play using the scratched one. Datacaust 17:09, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Climb out of bruma

One of my friends if out of his mind and found out if you have 100 acrobatics you can climb out of the walls of bruma and walk on invisible land. The only thing visible on the ground is the grass.

> to jump out you have to jump from roof to roof untill you find the lower side of the bruma wall and jump from the house over the wall and you will land on invisible land.

opps uhh what i said in the thingy below is what i meant to you. read the letter in the lil post below

Skeleton Skulls....

Are not safe for storage for two reasons. One: enemies respawn after three days. Most improtantly two: after about a minute after you 'grab' a skull, the skull starts becoming translucent, untill the skull completly goes invisible. The skull will still be there but it will be invisible except for the HUD ex. ' (X) grab skull'. Confirmed on Ps3 GOTY. "There is always hope"-Aragorn 17:22, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

You can do the same in bravil and imperial city i call it walkin in the 'void'

Ranks in Arena and Dark Brotherhood Gone?

So, I haven't played Oblivion in a while, and when I got back on it after 3 or so years, my ranking as Grand Champion in the Arena was gone, I wasn't even in the Arena. And my rank as Silencer in the Dark Brotherhood had a similar effect. Although, my rank as Arch-Mage stayed, for some wierd reason. Can anyone tell me what happened? And no, I didn't load an eariler save. --AltmerslikeCheese 22:44, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Could you have been kicked out of the factions? What does owyn say when you speak to him? Kitkat1749 13:26, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
I wasn't kicked out of the Dark Brotherhood, only my rank was just gone. And when I tried to come into the sanctuary, the box came up and it just said "<Say nothing and leave>". And about the Arena, he said the same thing he would to any player who hasn't joined at all.

Duplicate Regular Items, Can't Create New Items

Ok, here's the deal. This has happened with every single Oblivion file I have ever played and it comes at a point in time where my character is overly powerful or I have done a lot of quests and objectives. I can play the game as normal until it comes into effect at which point my whole experience is turned around. It's very time-consuming to say the ins and outs of having this problem and the scripting effects it brings with it so I'll just list in dot points what happens:

  • Merchants follow me all around their shop instead of just staying behind the counter or walking towards me so they can see me when I walk out of their line of sight. Same with Fighters Guild Porters.
  • I can't create new spells, potions or enchanted items. If I do, they will be there until I quit Oblivion and load again, at which point the new item and all its ingredients will be gone so I can't even make another one. (Unless I have more quantities)
  • I can't drop something somewhere and leave the location cell it is in. If I do, the item will disappear. If I drop an item in my house, leave and come back, the item will be gone.
  • If I quicksave I can do one or more of the following things:

-- Make an item vanish. -- Duplicate an item. -- Summon a creature that doesn't follow the scripts of a summoned minion, but instead follows the original intended game scripts like it has no master. This is because I Quicksave, drop the item and Quickload so it is still where I dropped it but also in my Inventory. With summons, I Quicksave, summon it and Quickload, and it is still there but it is not under my command because it is no longer a summoned minion. I can't do this, however, with items I've created at ANY point in time otherwise my game crashes with a Runtime Error.

If anyone has a solution I'd like to know, it's really annoying. 1:56PM, 18 July 2011 (UTC) Arcansas

well i dont know about any of the others but its not a glitch that merchants follow you around, they do it to stop thievery (Eddie the head 14:12, 16 July 2011 (UTC))

No that's not what I mean though, without the glitch they'll just watch me and then they'll only follow me if I walk out of their line of sight, WITH the glitch they'll follow me everywhere the same as someone like Martin or Mazoga the Orc. I think that is a bit unusual... 01:21, 17 July 2011 (UTC) Arcansas

Ok for anyone else who reads this, it can be fixed by the Official Oblivion Patch and Shivering Isles Patch, both versions 1.2.0416. I managed to get my hands on those patches and I no longer have this problem. 01:15, 23 July 2011 Arcansas

NPC In Quest Is Not Doing What Is Needed

I am doing the Allies For Bruma quest and I need to talk to the count in Skingrad. I previously started the vampire cure quest and got to the part where he is grieving and Hal-Liurz says she will go get him to meet up with me. After speaking with her and having her say that, she stands where she is and does nothing. I have tried knocked both out unconscious, I have tried restarting (many times), and I have tried doing other quests and coming back. None have worked, please help.

When I do quests with Janus Hassildor I sometimes forget about talking to Hal-Liurz and just run up into the Lord's Manor and talk to him there. Have you tried just going into his chambers to talk to him? 01:20, 23 July 2011 Arcansas

arrow fail?

today i was making a new character and i was gonna use it for marksman. but when i shoot one of my arrows it sticks out in front of my bow and when i release it, it makes a fast left-turn and i miss my target? maybe someone knows whats wrong? PS: not ALL of my shots get glitched and it maybe like 25% to 50% of my shots.

This is more common than you think, sometimes changing the bow or the arrows can have an effect, this only seems to happen when you use a 'power' attack, that is pull the arrow all the way back try just using basic attacks (just tap the button), but this is not reliable or practical, so when this happens I normally abandon the file or change my style of gameplay, I was once forced to aim about two–three inches to the right of my target, sorry I can't help more.2.219.179.246 23:09, 31 October 2011 (UTC)KNJB98

Rebuilding the Gatekeeper glitch?

ok, so when i first came to the Fringe, I wandered around and accidentally found all the items that Relmyna Veremin needed to rebuild the Gatekeeper before I'd even met her. I continued all along, until i finally met Sheogorath and he asked me to rebuild the gatekeeper. Since I already had all the ingrediants to begin with, all the journals were out of order and it was telling me to go see Relmyna. So I did and she refused to say anything to me except for Rumors or Passwell. I used the SetStage cheat to make it go forward, and this seemed to help, for i then was able to collect all the body parts for the Gatekeeper. I went back to Relmyna and she said to meet me at the statue of Sheogorath. I did and she NEVER showed up. EVER!! i waited, and waited and waited. So I tried the SetSTage cheat again and was able to get thru all the steps without EVER seeing ANY of the ritual or dropping any of the body parts, (it wouldnt let me since they were quest items.) and there never was a Ritual table. So I had to SetSTage cheat through the whole thing then report back to Sheogorath. When I did he congradulated me on a good job, then when he stopped speaking i found myself with NO menu's and i could NOT move at all. Anyone have any idea as to how to fix this problem? I'm at my wits end and can't progress in the game at all until this is fixed! Please help! I must add that NONE of the previous quests have even showed up, just the one where you find Sheogorath. — Unsigned comment by 50.55.74.0 (talk) on 23 July 2011

Do you mean that you found the ingredients needed to make the gatekeeper (ie; Blood liquor)? I thought that the Gardens of Flesh and Bone were locked until you start the quest "Rebuilding the Gatekeeper", and Relmyna gives you the key? Kitkat1749 00:42, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
They aren't locked if you use the 'unlock' cheat 50.55.74.0 00:45, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
If you do or access a part of a quest before you're supposed to, you're VERY likely to screw up the entire questline. You say you acquired the ingredients before you even left the Fringe? This is why you can't proceed with the next quest. The next quest, The Helpless Army, is dependent on whether you are the Duke of Mania or Dementia, which means a guard will come to you in the palace and it goes into picture mode because it's waiting for them, but you are Duke of neither Mania nor Dementia. Your only solution is, I think, to load to before you picked up those ingredients and just proceed with the Shivering main quest as per normal; don't try and cut early into later quests. 01:33, 23 July 2011 Arcansas
My problem is I dont have a save from before I got the items. :( But I know now what I must do. I'll have to start over, which will take FOREVER, but I dont mind TOO much, I LOVE Oblivion! Thanks for your help everyone! 50.55.74.0 01:50, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Wait, I don't think you DO have to start again, I'm wondering if there might be a way to alter the Shivering questline so that you start from the first quest despite having those Gatekeeper ingredients. I think if you alter the quest stages so that you start from going through the Fringe and talking to Sheogorath that would fix it, and then for every quest for which you have a problem, alter the quest stages again so it follows a logical sequence. It's difficult, but look up Through the Fringe of Madness which is the first quest after gaining entrance into the Isles, and then go from there. Try it. Stage 5 for the first journal entry, Stage 150 if you've killed the Gatekeeper. It might work, although no guarantees as I have NEVER used the Set Stage command before. 13:20, 23 July 2011 Arcansas

Floating Paintbrushes as Barriers?

Floating paintbrushes can be used as a physical barrier which NPC's can't bypass. For example, you can lure a shopkeeper into the second floor of a shop, then create a line of paintbrushes to trap him/her there while you loot the lower level. It's obviously a little unwieldy, although there may be some situations where it proves more useful. Any thoughts on whether this is worthy of inclusion with the Floating Paintbrushes section of the Exploitable Glitches page, or any other circumstances where it's useful? - Art 67.78.96.92 01:14, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

It sounds like it could be potentially useful if given the right situation, such as delaying a pursuing foe if you are low on health. Gamer3427 02:19, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

FOLLOWER ATTACKS ME FOR NO REASON

Recently I just completed the first oblivion gate in Kvatch. When I finished closing the gate both my followers (one from mages guild and the other from Dark Brotherhood) were teleported outside the gate and was walking backwards. Whilst in the Oblivion gate I also used the Staff of Worms on my NPC's in order to revive them when they were killed by creatures. Since then Both followers have tried to attack me on numerous occasions, especially my NPC from the Dark brotherhood. The Mage apprentice and stoppped attacking randomly in towns but the Dark Brother wont. If anyone knows how I can stop this please get back to me.

you should try to yield, it always works for me

Very detrimental speed glitch

After performing virtually any action, sometimes the speed of your character becomes incredibly slow without any indication as to why. This can be very damaging as it frequently occurs during combat. The only known way to move quickly is by lunge attacks after the glitch takes effect. This is known to occur on PC only.

Companions get locked up trying to chase after and kill enemy on the other side of a wall/gate/barrier or on another floor...

I have come across multiple occasions where, when doing a dungeon run with my two companions, they become alerted to an enemy that they can't reach. My companions cease following me, and their AIs try (AND FAIL) to reach and kill the enemy that has them locked up. I've tried setting them to "Wait Here," their AI still triggers and they must try and attack any nearby perceived threat. What the hell can I do to fix this?

Firstly, it's an RPG. You can expect there to be enemies around every corner, above or below you, that your allies will not be programmed to know how to reach. You can either rush the enemy and kill it yourself without your allies' help, or tell them to wait BEFORE engaging an enemy. And make sure they're a fair distance away otherwise their AI's will trigger and they will start attacking the enemy anyway due to proximity. Detect Life can be used to forewarn you to tell your allies to wait, if they won't be able to fight for reasons such as you have stated. Arcansas 08:12, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Hands of Midnight Autosave

While wearing the Hands of Midnight, I went outside and died in the sun but the game autosaved when I went outside. Making it nearly impossible to bring up the inventory every time I re-load the autosave. I have no saved data either...Help?

How in the name of any god did you manage to do that??? I guess you just got to keep trying to open the inventory. You know how you load a save when you're not very far away from where you saved and it doesn't go to the loading screen, but instead it just fades to black and you see yourself instantly back where you saved? You don't have to wait for that black to go away before you can start moving. Which means that once the screen turns black after loading you can still open up your inventory which is the quickest instance you're going to get in to open it. Try that. Open your game first though and allow yourself to die once because you always get a loading screen after loading your game from the main menu. By the way, this is way Sun Damage stinks. It gets you into predicaments like this. Arcansas 00:27, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Dupe Filled Soul Gems

First, gather Soul gems of the same type (ex. 4 grand soul gems). Next, soul trap one creature's soul (ex. 3 grand soul gems, 1 grand soul gem:soul level petty). Then, go to a shop that buys soul gems. Sell all nonfilled soul gems (3 grand) then sell filled (1 grand:soul level petty). Buy back the FILLED soul gem. If done right the the nonfilled soul gems will decrease adding them to your inventory with the same soul level as the filled.

NOTE: I have only used lesser soul gems.

Cant interact with sigil stone

I have entered about 40 gates so far in my current oblivion playthrough. I have found 4 or 5 gates that I can't close no matter what. I have played oblivion multiple times through and this is my first time finding this glitch, however this is the most I have ever explored Obilivion. Anyway the gates are in random locations (none of the Allies for Bruma gates or any other story related gates) I think 1 was just east of the Battlehorn Castle (DLC) Another was Southwest of Pell's Gate, and another was to the extreme east of the Imperial City Waterfront District (almost to Morrowind). Whenever I make it to the Sigil Stone in all these gates the sigil stone is there but I can't interact with it. I went through and activated every switch and killed every monster I could find in the gate still nothing. I left went and took all the sigil stones I hade been hordeing and used them hoping it would let me take the stone if I didn't have so many. I returned and still couldn't activate the stone. I think it is a problem with those specific gates though because I have closed other random gates recently. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this glitch? Giant Furniture...again.

So, I proposed a glitch, but it ended up being archived and ultimately unanswered. I've managed to re-do this many times, so here it is again, and let's hope it get answered or added or something.

As you have surely noticed throughout your travels in Oblivion, not all items are the same size. For instance, in Gottlesfont Priory, the metal bowls inside the chapel are much bigger than normal metal bowls. In one of the castles, there are two giant planters on either side of the throne. There is a way to modify the size of objects, although there's no reason why it works. Picking up the items once will not reset the size, but dropping it and picking it up again twice will return it to default size.

This glitch works best with silverware. Get about 50-100 silver platter and go into your inventory. Without exiting the inventory, drop all of the silverware one at a time, NOT in stacks. Exit out of the inventory. Some of the silverware should be bigger than normal, urns and vases the most noticeable.

I performed this on the xbox 360. It should work anywhere, but try an interior cell. Would anybody mind testing this out, please? lɹıƃoɹʎdsolʇ 17:35, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Bound Items Duplication

Step 1. Acquire bound items, preferably from Doomstones as the spell timer tends to be longer.

Step 2. Do the normal 'Repair bound items' glitch and drop the bound item.

Step 3. Save and load.

Step 4. You will re-equip the bound armor/weapon as if you had never dropped it, but the original bound item will still be on the ground and you can drop the bound item you are wearing immediately.

Step 5. Repeat until you have desired amount of bound items and wait for the spell to expire before picking the armor/weapons up.

I attempted this on the 360. It seems to work on all doomstones, as I did it with two different ones. One was for a bound dagger, and the other was for a bound curiass and longsword. I haven't attempted it in a bit, but there was one drawback. I think it was picking up a re-dropping the bound items in stacks before the spell timer went out. Also, this can be a very useful glitch. Bound items are worth nothing, but they also weigh nothing and make good armur as well as house decorations. Can anyone confirm this? lɹıƃoɹʎdsolʇ 19:10, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

So, i cant stop walking backwards

so, I was doing the Information at a Price quest (ps3), and i was using the skull of corruption to kill the vampire hunters w/o gettin a murder charge. i was fighting the redguard, when all of a sudden, i start walking backwards. now the only buttons that recieve commands are the O button, start and select, and the right analog (but only able to look up and down). i tried waiting, fast traveling, turning off the controller and fast travelling to the imperial city with the Gray Cowl on. i can switch my armor, but not un-equip it, and right now i'm just walkingbackwards into a gate, with 2 guards standing in front of me. theres also a dead guy, who i didn't kill lying on the ground. can't wait or fast travel because the guards are "chasing me".... i was a whole 4 levels back when i last saved, and the auto save is glitched... turning the system off doesn't help either

Try turning off your controller and then turning it back on again. Kitkat1749 TalkContribE-mail 10:44, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
he did Kitkat, try saving and loading that earlier save to see if that works, or try turning it off and trying again. if that fails its probaly your controller, try changing your battery (i think ps3 controllers use batteries) or try a different controller. Wow aren't I smart... Sorry, eddie's right, but I don't think it's a glitch, because I can't duplicate it. Sounds like a once-off thing. Could be that one of your analogues is a bit sticky?Kitkat1749 TalkContribE-mail 11:09, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Try playing a different game and see if your controller is still acting up. PS3 controllers do have batteries but they aren't easily replaceable and it costs about the same to get a new controller. The batteries are rechargeable and charge with a chord to the PS3 and there's no panel to remove it's screwed shut inside the controller. I've had a game walk on it's own before, but luckily it was just because i was holding the analog stick when booting the system up, which can cause the neutral position to not be in the center of the stick. It does sound like a one-off glitch though. Good luck, and I hope you don't get discouraged and stop playing... I know 4 levels can be hours upon hours of play. The PS3 has infinite saves that can be made with Oblivion so by the Nine save all the time! Haha I rhymed! :P

He Looks Fine To ME...

[XBOX 360] The first time i did the quest The Assassinated Man, i stood by Francois (in 100% chameleon) and planned to let Hides-His-Heart kill him, turns out it doesn't work that way so i summoned a Dremora Lord and let him walk over Hides-His-Heart. I proceeded to reload a save and do the quest right this time. (Flash forward) I'm in the undercroft and Francois is standing next to the bed and i can't communicate with him at all so i can't administer the antidote to revive him and go off on our travels together... Why is this and how can i fix it?

Permanent rings effect glitch and unable to remove the rings.

YOU MUST USE THE SCROLL DUPLICATION PROCESS! NO OTHER WAY WILL WORK! AND YOU STILL CANNOT WEAR DUPLICATE OF THE SAME RING!

First off I found this glitch by accident by duplicating rings and i was like "WTF?". Anyways get any ring that you want permanently to enchant you (meaning you can never get rid of its effects) and duplicate it into only TWO of the ring of the same one. Then equip one of them and the one that is not equiped duplicate it however many time you want. The ring you are wearing will disappear and be permantly bound to you and you can still equip other rings. Check your magic effects tab and see that the effect from the missing ring is still on you permanently.

I first suspected it would work with all jewelry but it will not work with amulets/necklaces. Anytime you try it with one then try to equip another it will cancel the effect and "take off" the invisible one.

my game crashes when i try to enter the dungeons

ok you know at the start of the game when you enter the dungeons to get you to the sewers to get outside for the first time, well my computer keeps on crashing and takes me to my homepage and a quarter of the page is black and i cant use my mouse to answer the question to get out can someone help me i really wanted to play this game for a long time!!!

Bow and Arrow shooting glitch.

I honestly have no clue how to recreate it, but it happens to me all the time. I will be playing and when I try to shoot my bow and arrow in game sometimes it shows that the arrow isn't all the way pulled back and makes the sound that it shoots. and when this happens the arrow doesn't go strait. It curves off in another direction and makes it extremely difficult to play as an archer. I have only been playing Oblivion for about 2 weeks and this happens to me a ton. It happens with every bow in game as well as with every arrow in game. If anyone could help me that would be great. Thanks. =D 98.22.186.203 00:27, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Zienda

Cure For Vampirism Quest ~ Multiple Rewards

Watched Hubby play last night and he discovered that long after completing this quest he went back to Lleyawin and spoke with Janus (the count) and for over and hour and a half, he accumulated over $15 million. He kept selecting the the Reward talk prompt and every time he would receive $2500 Gold.

I tried it today on my character (level 24) and I kept receiving $7500, I made over $17 million in about 20 minutes. It was cool.

Not sure if this is just a random glitch as we haven't tried it again since then, but I suspect it will happen always. Not bad to make easy money ;)

See here. It's been patched. Kitkat xxx TalkContribE-mail 21:51, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Recorded, but not used Idle Dialogues

I dunno if this is a glitch (due to oversight) or cut content; but just like with Morrowind, there were supposed to be a number of idle dialogues (86 in total). They were all recorded, and all come with the game. However, due to an development oversight they are never called upon.

Like in morrowind, they were supposed to call upon these lines when they weren't doing anything in particular. In other words, they would have said them if they were standing around for a minute or two.

The lines themselves can be accessed from the CS.

I wasn't even aware of this until a patch to fix it showed up on Nexus.

I think it should be noteworthy at least somewhere on this wiki, if not this particular section. --96.41.225.122 16:56, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Well it's not really a glitch, so definitely not this section. And some of them are noted, but only if they show something particular. Generally they are noted, if they are at all, on the pages about the subject they talk about. In other words if there was an unused dialogue line about a quest, it would be placed on the relevant quest page. --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 17:12, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Intant Level-Ups

This glitch will allow you to instantly progress a character's level. To preform this glitch you will need a save file containing a character that is about to level up, as well as a save file containing the character that you want to increase the level of.

Step 1: Load the save file containing the character that is about to level up.

Step 2: Choose to sleep in the bed and sleep for any amount of time you choose. (One hour works best.)

Step 3: When the screen fades to black and the on screen time progresses, pause the game and load up your save file containing the character you wish to level up.

That's it. Your character should now be leveled up. It may take a few tries at first, but you should get the hang of it with no problem.

NOTES:

–You will only be able to raise three stats by one point per level gained this way.

–As of right now, this glitch has only been tested on X-Box 360.

-You have to load the save BEFORE it takes your character to the level up screen.

Unlimited arrows glitch

first off go to three brothers trade goods in the imperial city market district then make sure you have a good amount of money then talk to sergius and buy 40 arrows from him and he should then somehow 20 arrows left to purchase and you can then buy as many arrows as you want i find sergius a good supplier for arrows lol Aquarius the argonian 04:06, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

This is not a glitch but an intentional game feature. Several merchants are intentionally programmed to infinite supplies of arrows. --NepheleTalk 04:35, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Water Viasbility Glitch

Alright, this is very common, and I'm sure most of you have noticed it too, but now I'm going to make it official. In any source of deep water ("deep" meaning that it is possible to wim underwater in it), if you go to the surface, then go underwater just a tap, so that your screen is half in water, half out, then it makes the normally-cloudy water as see-through as air. This can be helpful when trying to find an item underwater, looking for swimming enemies, or searching for an underwater passageway. Please note that while doing this, your breath meter WILL go down, so it is necessary to tap up once in a while to refill it.

I can't finish The Ultimate Heist, help!

i've reached the library floor where there's only 1 guard, i try to pick the lock and when i do, sounds the door opening and then the game crashes. I loaded the game and kept going up and then down, tried to open it again and same story... any idea of what happens?

"Hostile" Guards (And Audens Avidius)

For some reason I keep running in to the same problem. Recently, I attacked (and killed) Simplicia the slow in the Imperial City. I got sent to jail for it, and then when I came out something weird happened. The minute I came out, the guards were saying things like "Huh?" and "I better cut down on the ale, I'm starting to see things" (I remember hearing Vampires and bandits muttering that in dungeons if I'm nearby), I tried to wait, but it said there were enemies nearby. I walked over to the Khajit beggar guy, and he suddenly stood up and started running around the place. I tried to talk to him, but it said he was fleeeing. Shortly after he got up, the guards started chasing him around and they eventually killed him. I decided to give it a rest and go to the Arcane University to make some spells.

But still the same problem!! The minute I entered the University grounds, one of the Battlemages shouted "If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get!" As if he was about to attack me. And again, I couldn't wait. Also, the mage apprentices and scholars on the grounds also started to run around and "flee". After going in to several other areas of the city, this was happening EVERYWHERE.

And here's the really annoying part. I can't wait or sleep anywhere. Even in the middle of the wilderness I couldn't wait. I went in to my house in Bravil and I couldn't wait inside. And this is not just happening in the Imperial City. Every single place I go to the NPCS start going crazy and so do the guards. As stated above, the minute I approach an NPC, they'll start "Fleeing" while the guards will crazily chase after the NPC trying to kill him/her. I've ended up with mass amounts of NPCS (especially essential and important ones) dead or unusable because of this glitch.

Please help!!! Thanks 213.107.185.137 21:09, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

Is this Mentioned Anywhere?

There is a problem with the way Xbox360 licenses works. The Xbox stores half of a license with the Xbox, and the other with the gamertag. If you play on a new Xbox with the same gamertag while offline, you won't be able to play your DLC. This is quite frustrating, and I don't think we list this anywhere right now. Can anyone find a place where this is listed? If we currently don't make note of this, where should we list this? My guess is that we should list this under non-glitches, as it's not a problem with the game itself (Not really a problem at all since you can transfer licenses). --AKB Talk Cont Mail 01:14, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

The problem with this is that this has absoluetly nothing to do with the game. This is true of every single piece of DLC for every game on the 360. Maybe a small note on the Xbox 360 page linking to an appropriate location on xbox.com? --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 01:18, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
