The entrance to Numralion's wine cellar

House Numralion is a noble Altmer lineage hailing from the province of Summerset. They were active during the mid-Second Era. The cellar of their manor in the capital city of Alinor was repurposed as a base for the local criminal underground, unbeknownst to them.[1]

History[edit]

The exact origins of House Numralion are unclear. However, it is known that they came from the capital city of Alinor on Summerset Isle. By 2E 582, they were regarded as a venerable family. As of then, the last remaining members of the House were deemed senile. Their mansion in Alinor, located in the northwestern part of the city, featured an impressive old wine cellar; however, none of the members could recall its existence. The cellar beneath their mansion, unbeknownst to them, had been seized and repurposed by the local criminal element of the city.[1]

Criminals operated from the underground there,[1] and their base was dubbed the Alinor Outlaws Refuge.[2][3] Numralion's cellar was regarded as well hidden, yet still brimming with splendor, even by Alinor's standards.[4] The criminals had members stationed as lookouts, ensuring that the entry to the cellar was secure.[5] While outlaws were assured that this place was a well-kept secret, some still deemed it unsafe, believing that Divine Prosecution could conduct a sweep at any moment.[6] It also became a place for foreign merchants whose races prevented them from opening successful businesses in more legitimate venues.[7]
