Random fact, not sure it's worth mentioning anywhere, but "draugr" is a Norse word for "corporeal undead" or zombies, living in either land or sea environments. I ran across it in a book and thought of you guys... Somercy 10:20, 20 September 2007 (EDT)

Why does the Creatures page require an image ? What is supposed to be on that image ? -- I currently imagine a nice group shot of all creatures available in Bloodmoon :-) --Adjego 13:14, 3 February 2008 (EST)

As far as I can tell, it's all just tables and formatting. (Just edit the Oblivion page to see what it looks like.) If there are already pictures of the Bloodmoon creatures, they're on other pages or wandering aimlessly in the I'd just assume there aren't any ;). I have made a slightly mixed design from other Creature pages and the newer building pages. I also added a quotation line, quoting someone out of the game, which gives a bit more atmosphere (but also makes the description line seem superfluous sometimes).
The tables have been formatted differently from time to time. How do you think about giving the table a width of 100% ? I played with this and currently think it looks more consistent, yet flexible.

(update) My page update is finished and it worked out to be more than just adding pictures. I also added headers like seen on some Oblivion:Creature pages and included Quotes from the game, as well as adding some tables, adjusting tables to 100% width, corrected some details, added a werewolf npc section. However, I feel some of my wording is worth to be redone sooner than later, the werewolf npc section might be better placed on the werewolf page and some data is still not entirely correct. Help make this a Featured Article[edit]

I'd like to nominate this article to the Featured list, since it is very pretty and informative, and not Oblivion related. In order to do that, the red links have to disapear... Adjego has put so much work into it, let's finish it with a few touches! --BenouldTC

The big problem here is that much of the article is quite informal or badly phrased (I just corrected a few mistakes myself), and there is excessive imagery in some areas. If we do some major re-vamping, then maybe this could be a Featured Article. For now, though, it's nowhere near that stage. Compare it with some of the other nominations, and you'll realise that this needs a lot of work done first. --HMSVictoryTalk 15:22, 22 April 2008 (EDT)
Oblivion articles have this many pictures, please don't re-arrange other than to improve language and linking. See the talk page here for the discussions already done. I still don't think its anywhere near ready to consider. I mean, I am planning to nominate Lore:Dwemer (I have recently made massive improvements to the article), and if you compare the two articles, I think you'll see which one most users would prefer. Actually, I disagree. While Lore:Dwemer is also a very good-looking article, I think this page is looking pretty good too, especially after all the work that's been put into it recently. With a little more work (which, as Benould said, is all that has been requested at this point), I think it could certainly contend with the other articles that have been nominated. –Eshetalk 15:56, 22 April 2008 (EDT)

My most outstanding concern is that many of the images are superfluous, such as the doubled Grahl, Draugr and Bonewolf (among others) images. Do we really need a separate image for each side of the creature? Do we really need both a dark and a light (or "blinded") image? Do we really need a "natural habitat" image paired with a "closeup shot?" This page still needs plenty of work, as I have said, and those quotes are just pointless. Why not have a paragraph properly describing each creature instead of an informal sentence or two with a one-line quote from a character (half of which aren't descriptive of the creature at all)? This is a useful article, yes, but it needs improvement nonetheless. --HMSVictoryTalk 11:47, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

(out dent) Thanks for the input, some of the images may indeed be superfluous in the final stage, for now this is a handy depository for them as we insect images into other BM pages ;0 The article size exceeds browser limit by ~10kb, some pruning/tweaking would have to be done. Maybe moving certain elements as suggested below will help with size as well. Also, it needs a general intro, I'll give that a crack in a bit. Fryse Hags and Berserkers??[edit]

I was going through pages that needed images in Bloodmoon and I came across this random page for Fryse Hags that needs alot of work (and as far as I can tell isn't linked anywhere on the site) and realized there was no page for Berserkers that I've seen either. I'm assuming both would fall under the creatures catergory? Would they be added to the creatures page already under construction or being they are human NPC type creatures, would they fall under some other title? KamekoHaru 18:23, 22 April 2008 (EDT)

I just created the Fryse Hag page a few days ago, still looking for info on Berserkers. Both are classified as NPC by the game, and are humanoid. Perhaps we need a page for these two, as well as move the Werewolves from Creatures to that new page. Not quite sure how to classify that page, perhaps Humanoid-like NPCs? Honestly, I don't see a reason not to just add them to the creatures section for two reasons: one, people might get confused with a "humunoid" page and two, they are randomly generated npcs just like every other random creature you encounter. Maybe just mention them on the creatures page with a direct link to their individual pages? Or if that's too much work, just add a section below werewolves with a title like "humanoid"? Was just curious about it though because I have screen shots and info to add where ever you guys do decide it needs to go. KamekoHaru 01:43, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

For what it's worth, in my estimation Fryse Hags, Berserkers, Reavers, and Smugglers are similar to generic Guards and Ordinators in Morrowind (except that they're hostile). They do not have unique names and they respawn. I'm thinking something along the lines of the Ordinator page from the Morrowind NPCs Category, although potential pages for the Bloodmoon NPCs might not be so detailed. – KJR1012 Talk Email Contribs 06:16, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
I'm not sure they should be added to the creatures page - as noted, they are NPCs. I'd suggest something along the lines of the Ordinator page mentioned by KJR1012, or the Oblivion:Bandit page. --Gaebrial 06:24, 23 April 2008 (EDT)
I've had another idea for consideration. Perhaps a page setup similar to Bloodmoon:Creatures, but placed as a category on the Bloodmoon:People page? Possible names could be "Hostile NPCs" or "Hostile People".

Re:Werewolves as Creatures-- Except they spawn as humanoid; Nord, Orcmer, Altmer etc. and have job classes Warrior, Barbarian or Battlemage. See Gibbering Lunatic at the Earth Stone, for example.

(outdent) Okay Game Lord and Benould had done the Berserker and Fryse Hag pages respectively and I've made a start on Reaver. I've therefore created a couple more things too. First, the Bloodmoon Generic NPCs Trail based on the similar one for Oblivion. Second, the Bloodmoon:NPCs page as a grouping point for all these pages. I'll take a stab at Smugglers next. I'd definitely split off the humanoid werewolves from Creatures too but I won't do that until there are signs of a consensus. –RpehTCE 05:21, 1 May 2008 (EDT)

Yeah, not what I meant, but that helps, too ;) The cleanup tag is for a code guru to go through, it seems to me that the tables use a mix of wiki, html, css formatting. Maybe this can all be a bit simpler and faster loading, while keeping it nice and clean. --BenouldTC 07:05, 24 July 2008 (EDT)

Me neither. The only HTML-style tags are <br> and <nowiki>, both of which are extensively used elsewhere, and the only CSS is style=text-align:left, which is used in the melee attack columns and is also extensively used elsewhere.
Speed of loading is a problem with all the animal / creature pages, simply due to their size. There's an argument for splitting them up into pages for each creature type but then there are equally compelling arguments for keeping them all together. I guess you pay your money and takes your choice. –RpehTCE 10:31, 24 July 2008 (EDT)

I don't think there's any appreciable difference in terms of load-times for viewing the page, though it does make editing quicker, as you're only changing one section at a time, so it doesn't have to load the whole page. Of course, the flip-side of that is that if you NEED to make a global change over the whole page (i.e. changing the formatting of the tables or something), you've now got to make several edits instead of just one. Transcludes can also be slightly confusing for newbies if they just hit the Edit button at the top of the screen instead of the one at the top of each section. (The headers should be on the transcluded pages, rather than on the main page, in order to make the edit tags go straight to the page with the content, rather than just show you a transclude.) I'm not sure what would be best for this page, though I'd vote for separate pages just to be consistant with Morrowind's creature pages. --TheRealLurlock Talk 13:36, 24 July 2008 (EDT)

IS this a bug[edit]

While using shadowsting [from behind thirsk hall hollow tree stump] and attacking reiklings on brselbacks and plain briselbacks I found for some reason the spell nearly always reflected onto me though upon veiwing the creatures page i see no reflect listed under the entry for briselbacks — Unsigned comment by (talk) on 29 January 2010

Rieklings on Bristlebacks have a 60% reflect, but I don't know why normal Bristlebacks would be reflecting. To be honest, you're probably mistaken. rpeh •TCE 09:52, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

well thanks anyway but no, sadly im not mistaken... I just tried it on a new load after using the console to see if i can summon [IE spawn in a brisle back] and if there is any difference between the natural one and this one... it turns out that it was only reflecting when i used shadow sting .... odd no?

I've been killed several times by groups of mounted Rieklings via a reflected Lightning Storm spell with God Mode toggled....... wha? (no unofficial mods) ComaDivine 10:52, 13 April 2010 (UTC)


I've noticed, like summoned creatures, there is a small window where you can loot a spriggan before it resurrects. So not only do you get three soul trap attempts, you have three loot attempts. you can even dispose of the corpse to actually prevent the spriggan from resurrecting. It also bears noting that I discovered this during the "Raze the forest" quest, where doing this breaks the script, making the quest incompletable. 14:51, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

i notice that the note about that has been removed i put it up and ive recently been doing the bloodmoon part of morrowind, you can loot them and dispose of there corpse ive done it multiple times, it takes a few tries though but it defiantly works with the first stage of spriggans (before they respawn) (Eddie the head 10:11, 1 June 2011 (UTC))
