Notes
Values are based on Max Magicka/Stamina 12000, Max Health 16000, and Weapon/Spell Damage 1000.
Aspect of Terror: Cost: [4050 / 3960 / 3870 / 3780] Magicka.
Summon a dark spirit to terrify nearby enemies, causing them to cower in fear for 2 seconds and be afflicted with Major Cowardice for 10 seconds, reducing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.
Mass Hysteria: Duration: [2 / 2.3 / 2.7 / 3] seconds.
Summon a dark spirit to terrify all nearby enemies, causing them to cower in fear for [2 / 2.3 / 2.7 / 3] seconds and be afflicted with Major Cowardice for 10 seconds, reducing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.
Manifestation of Terror: Cost: [3510 / 3420 / 3330 / 3240] Magicka, Duration: 20 seconds, Range: 22 meters, Target: Ground.
Conceal a sinister trap at the target location, which takes 2 seconds to arm and lasts for 20 seconds. When the trap is triggered, up to 6 enemies in the area become terrified, causing them to cower in fear for 2 seconds and be afflicted with Major Cowardice for 10 seconds, reducing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.

Aspect of Terror summons a dark spirit which instills fear in nearby enemies, causing them to flee and reducing their damage done. The Mass Hysteria morph increases the duration of the stun, while the Manifestation of Terror places a trap on the ground at the target location, and reduces the cost.

Patch Notes[edit]

  • Manifestation of Terror: The wraith summoned by using this ability no longer has collision.
  • Mass Hysteria: This ability now displays a snare graphic on affected targets.
  • Added a new animation to the following abilities to better communicate that you are feared:
  • Slightly reduced the cost of this ability.
  • Mass Hysteria: This ability now hits up to three targets. These targets will be affected by fear for three seconds, then affected by Minor Maim debuff and have their movement speed reduced for 4 seconds.
  • Mass Hysteria's movement speed snare effect is now a baseline effect for Aspect of Terror. Enemies will be snared by 50% for 4 seconds after the fear ends.
    • Note: The Mass Hysteria morph will continue to apply the Minor Maim debuff to the target when the fear ends, and will let you fear an additional target as a morph effect.
  • Manifestation of Terror (Aspect of Terror morph):
    • This morph now places two traps when it is used – one is placed at your current location, and another is placed at a ground-placed reticle location up to 22 meters away.
    • The traps created by this morph are now visible to enemies.
    • Reduced the amount of targets feared by each trap to one target from six targets.
  • Adjusted the order of the Active Abilities in this skill line. They now unlock in the following order:
  • Manifestation of Terror (Aspect of Terror morph):
    • The traps summoned by this morph are no longer visible to enemy player characters.
    • The traps summoned by this morph can now fear two enemies instead of one.
  • Fixed an issue with this ability and its morphs where the visual effects would not appear if a target with CC-immunity was within the area of effect.
  • Manifestation of Terror: This morph now fears up to 6 enemies per trap, up from 2, and the trap no longer triggers if a crowd control-immune enemy walks over it. Enemies can also now see an initial projectile marking the trap's location.
  • Mass Hysteria (Aspect of Terror morph): This morph no longer fears an additional enemy, but only fears the same amount of enemies as the base ability (2 enemies). It continues to inflict Minor Maim as a morph effect.
    • Developer Notes: We wanted to distinguish the gameplay between Aspect of Terror's morphs. Mass Hysteria grants an instant fear and strong debuff, while Aspect of Terror is more delayed but affects more targets.
Because Aspect of Terror is now more powerful against groups, we've made the initial projectile visible to help add counterplay to the ability.
  • Manifestation of Terror:
    • Reduced the arming time of the traps created by this morph to 2 seconds from 3 seconds.
    • Fixed an issue where the traps created by this morph would not trigger if an enemy walked over the trap while they were blocking. The traps will now always trigger if an enemy that is able to be feared walks over them, and will not trigger if the enemy is unable to be feared.
  • Decreased the duration of the snare from this ability and its morphs to 2 seconds from 4 seconds.
  • This ability and its morphs no longer snare the target after the fear ends. Aspect of Terror now fears up to 3 enemies, up from 2.
    • Mass Hysteria (morph): This morph no longer applies Minor Maim to the targets affected. Also increased the number of feared targets to 6 enemies from 2.
  • Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs would fail to display effects if animation canceled.
  • This ability and its morphs now apply Major Cowardice to enemies hit for 10 seconds. Increased the target cap of this ability to 6, up from 3.
    • Mass Hysteria (morph): This morph now removes the target cap from the ability.
    • Manifestation of Terror (morph):
      • This morph no longer fires 2 traps and instead fires 1 trap at your targeted location, as it was allowing you to effectively double the target cap and step on the morph distinction of Mass Hysteria.
      • Reduced the duration of the trap to 20 seconds, down from 1 minute.
      • Reduced the duration of the fear to match the base ability.
      • Reduced the cost of this morph to 3240 at rank 4, down from 3780.
      • This morph no longer summons a pet for a brief second to fear the target, and now instead immediately fears the target, to reduce situations where it could fail to go off.
