Shadow is one of three class skill lines available to Nightblades. Abilities in this line focus on self-preservation through limiting enemies' attacks and hiding. Known abilities in this skill are listed below.

Skill Perks[edit]

The Shadow skill line is immediately available to all Nightblades, and is leveled up by earning experience while Shadow skills are slotted. Skills include:

  • The numbers displayed here are the base values for the skills. Magicka/Stamina Cost is based on a character of Level 50 Champion Points160. Damage values are based on Max Magicka/Stamina 12000, Max Health 16000, and Weapon/Spell Damage 1000. The actual numbers you see in the game may depend on a variety of factors, including skill line rank, your equipped weapons and armor, other skills, enchantments, etc. As such, they should only be used as a comparative reference.

Allies in the area can activate the ON-icon-synergy-Hidden Refresh.png Hidden Refresh synergy, granting them invisibility, increasing their Movement Speed by 70%, and healing them for 24898 Health over 4 seconds.

Morph ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Surprise Attack.png Surprise Attack Converts to a Stamina ability and deals Physical Damage. Always applies the Sundered status effect and deals guaranteed critical damage when flanking an enemy.
Cost: 2295 Stamina.
Slash an enemy, dealing [6351 / 6421 / 6491 / 6560] Physical Damage and applying the Sundered status effect. If you strike an enemy from their flank you set them Off Balance. This attack will also be guaranteed to be a Critical Strike, up to once every 3 seconds.
ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Concealed Weapon.png Concealed Weapon Deals increased damage, which furthers when leaving Sneak or invisibility. While slotted you gain Minor Expedition.
Slash an enemy, dealing 6988 Magic Damage. If you strike an enemy from their flank you set them Off Balance. When you leave Sneak or invisibility while in combat, increase your damage done with this ability by 10% for [12 / 13 / 14 / 15] seconds. While slotted on either bar, you gain Minor Expedition, increasing your Movement Speed by 15%.

Cost: [4320 / 4230 / 4140 / 4050] Magicka.
Cloak yourself in shadow to become invisible for 3 seconds. While slotted on either bar, you gain Major Prophecy and Savagery, increasing your Spell and Weapon Critical rating by 2629.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Shadowy Disguise.png Shadowy Disguise Guarantees a Critical Strike on your next attack. Cost decreases as the ability ranks up.
Cost: [4050 / 3960 / 3870 / 3780] Magicka, Target: nil.
Cloak yourself in shadow to become invisible for 3 seconds. Your next direct damage attack used within 3 seconds will always be a Critical Strike. While slotted on either bar, you gain Major Prophecy and Savagery, increasing your Spell and Weapon Critical rating by 2629.
ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Dark Cloak.png Dark Cloak No longer grants invisibility. Now heals over time based on your Max Health, and grants Minor Protection rather than Major Prophecy and Savagery.
Shroud yourself in protective shadow to heal for [826 / 835 / 844 / 853] Health every 1 second, over 3 seconds, increasing by an additional 150% when you are not moving. This portion of the ability scales off your Max Health. While slotted on either bar, you gain Minor Protection, reducing your damage taken by 5%.

Create a corridor of shadows for 10 seconds, granting you and allies in the area Major Expedition, increasing Movement Speed by 30%. Effect persists for [1 / 2 / 3 / 4] seconds after leaving the path.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Twisting Path.png Twisting Path Reduces the cost and the path affects a larger conal area and deals damage.
Cost: 2700 Magicka, Area: 15 meters, Target: Cone.
Create a corridor of shadows for 10 seconds, granting you and allies in the area Major Expedition, increasing Movement Speed by 30% which persists for 4 seconds after leaving the path. Deals [999 / 1010 / 1021 / 1032] Magic Damage to enemies in the target area every 1 second.
ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Refreshing Path.png Refreshing Path Path also heals you and your allies and increases their Magicka and Stamina Recovery.
Create a corridor of shadows for 10 seconds, granting you and allies in the area Major Expedition, Minor Endurance, and Minor Intellect, increasing Movement Speed by 30%, as well as Stamina and Magicka Recovery by 15%. Effect persists for 4 seconds after leaving the path. Heals [1154 / 1165 / 1178 / 1191] Health to you and allies in the area every 1 second.

Summon a dark spirit to terrify nearby enemies, causing them to cower in fear for 2 seconds and be afflicted with Major Cowardice for 10 seconds, reducing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Mass Hysteria.png Mass Hysteria The ability no longer has a cap of how many targets it can affect and the fear increases in duration as the ability ranks up.
Duration: [2 / 2.3 / 2.7 / 3] seconds.
Summon a dark spirit to terrify all nearby enemies, causing them to cower in fear for [2 / 2.3 / 2.7 / 3] seconds and be afflicted with Major Cowardice for 10 seconds, reducing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.
ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Manifestation of Terror.png Manifestation of Terror Reduces the cost and creates a trap at your target location instead, which fears enemies when triggered.
Cost: [3510 / 3420 / 3330 / 3240] Magicka, Duration: 20 seconds, Range: 22 meters, Target: Ground.
Conceal a sinister trap at the target location, which takes 2 seconds to arm and lasts for 20 seconds. When the trap is triggered, up to 6 enemies in the area become terrified, causing them to cower in fear for 2 seconds and be afflicted with Major Cowardice for 10 seconds, reducing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 430.
ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Summon Shade.png Summon Shade 42 Instant Self 20 seconds 2970 Magicka
Summon a shade version of yourself to attack an enemy and fight at your side for 20 seconds. The shade slashes at an enemy, dealing [1229 / 1241 / 1254 / 1269] Magic Damage once every 2 seconds, and inflicts Minor Maim for 4 seconds, reducing the enemy's damage done by 5%.
Morph ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Dark Shade.png Dark Shade Shade deals increased damage, and occasionally casts an area of effect attack.
Summon a shade version of yourself to attack an enemy and fight at your side for 20 seconds. The shade slashes at an enemy, dealing [1651 / 1669 / 1687 / 1705] Magic Damage and occasionally whirlwinds all enemies around it, dealing [1651 / 1669 / 1687 / 1705] Magic Damage once every 2 seconds. The shade's attacks inflict Minor Maim, reducing the enemy's damage done by 5% for 4 seconds.
ON-icon-skill-Shadow-Shadow Image.png Shadow Image The summoned shade now is stationary and attacks from a range but costs more. Activating the ability again while the shade is active allows you to teleport to its position.
Cost: 3780 Magicka.
Summon a shade version of yourself to stay in place and attack an enemy from range for 20 seconds. The shade shoots at an enemy, dealing [1268 / 1282 / 1296 / 1310] Magic Damage every 2 seconds, and inflicts Minor Maim, reducing the enemy's damage done by 5% for 4 seconds. While the shade is summoned, you can activate this ability again for no cost to teleport to the shade's location.

27 2 Casting a Shadow ability grants you Major Resolve for 6 seconds, increasing your Physical and Spell Resistance by 5948. This duration is increased by 25% for each piece of Heavy Armor equipped. Current Duration: (1.5 × Heavy Armor #) seconds
