This trailer picks up where the Gates of Oblivion Cinematic Announcement Trailer left off: the heroes (consisting of Lyranth the dremora, Eveli Sharp-Arrow, a nameless Redguard warrior and an Argonian hero) arrive in the Deadlands and Mehrunes Dagon readies his weapon to strike. He brings his axe down on the group, sending the mortals flying. The scene cuts to Mehrunes Dagon standing over the smoldering impact site, panning down to see Valkynaz Nokvroz marching towards the wreckage. He snatches the Mysterium Xarxes from Lyranth's limp hand before riding off on a welwa mount with his Prince in tow.

In the next scene, Mehrunes Dagon and his lackey have traveled to a tower. The Prince shrinks himself down to a more compact size to join his minion on the platform, where the kneeling dremora hands him the book. The Prince brings it to an altar, where he begins to draw power from it. Just then, the heroes run up through the hall, and Eveli nocks an arrow. Her shot is blocked by the Valkynaz's shield. The heroes engage their new foe in battle, and he draws his glowing blade. They trade blows, and the mace-wielding Redguard hero knocks his knees out. This gives the group the edge they need to stagger the enemy dremora.

The Valkynaz's blade begins to glow with searing heat, and he unleashes a blast of flame that knocks the heroes back. He marches over to the Argonian hero as Mehrunes Dagon finishes creating a sigil stone. The Redguard warrior plunges a blade into the vulnerable leather beneath the Valkynaz's arm as he raises his sword to strike the struggling Argonian down, and the two engage one on one. The dremora twists his assailant's wrist, disarming her, and she tackles him off the edge of the cliff.

There's no time for Eveli and her Argonian companion to mourn: Mehrunes Dagon is opening a portal. Lyranth attempts to sneak the Xarxes off the pedestal as Dagon admires his work, but he takes notice, slamming his palm down on the moving book and swatting the thief aside. He levitates the dremora closer to him, choking her out, giving the remaining mortal heroes the opportunity to snatch the tome off the pedestal and hop into the gateway he fabricated while his back is turned.

Eveli looks back as she steps into the portal, and Mehrunes Dagon tosses Lyranth aside. She locks eyes with him as she's whisked away, the portal's stone frame crumbling while Dagon marches furiously in its direction. He roars in frustration and the screen cuts to black for the logo to drop.

The screen fades in to a top-down view of Eveli and the Argonian warrior camping out on a xanmeer. Eveli awakes with a start, clutching the Xarxes as she spies a familiar red-hot blade simmering in the nearby woods. The pair ready their weapons, softening when their lost friend emerges from the woods, sweaty and caked in grime. There's a moment of respite as the warriors breathe in relief: the next moment, blazing heat is conjured behind the Redguard warrior, who holds her foe's stolen sword aloft, prepared to face the threat as the trailer ends.
