Guild Knight[edit]

GuildKnight has been a member here at the UESP since October 2006, and she has prove to be a great editor. She’s been a patroller since March 2007, and has done several projects including a lot of layout work on the Oblivion pages. Additionally, she is often in the UESP’s IRC channel and a mentor. I believe she’ll make a great administrator.

Questions[edit]

Q1: What do you hope to accomplish as an administrator? Where do you fit in with the other administrators?

I hope to take some of the weight off of the shoulders of the current administrators. By spreading the workload out more, more of us should be able to actually ‘’enjoy’’ the time we spend on the wiki. Hopefully the few extra tools and buttons will allow me to help keep the wiki running as smoothly as it usually does, in addition to doing the same editing I’ve enjoyed doing for a couple of years, now.
As far as where I would fit in, that’s a tricky question! I of course share everyone’s disdain for vandals/spammers, but besides that, I am also a very patient person (not that the other admins ‘’aren’t’’ patient, but that’s one of my strengths). I always look at all sides of a discussion, and often ask myself why others might have differing opinions than I. --GuildKnightTalk2me 01:03, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

Q2: With Oblivion now being over 2 and a half years old, where do you see the UESP going in the future? Changes that need to be made? Challenges that will arise?

The UESP is in a “polishing” stage right now, as I see it. The more polished it is when another game finally does come out, the easier it will be to incorporate new info.
There’s still a few things left to be done on the Oblivion pages, but we’re nearing completion with them, so there will be a large opportunity to encourage the community to expand the pages of the other games.
Also, since we are closing in on documenting everything about the most recent game, we have a great opportunity to ensure that it’s easy-to-use, which will attract and retain more readers and editors. --GuildKnightTalk2me 01:03, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

Q3: Do you see an Administrator as a person that enforces policies or as someone that is ready to innovate when policies prove problematic?

Of course, administrators should enforce the policies, but it is more important for an administrator to be able to recognize a policy that is inhibiting growth of the wiki and/or the community.
Administrators should be able to be counted upon to ensure that whatever happens on the wiki, it is in the best interest of the wiki and the community. --GuildKnightTalk2me 01:03, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

Q4: How long do you think you'll remain active on the site? Why?

I plan to be here forever!  ;) I’ve wandered around a few different wikis, and I keep coming back here; I never voluntarily left for long. I love these games, and more than that I love the community we’ve developed here. I feel like I have friends here, and I’m proud of the work that I and so many editors have done to get the wiki to the point it’s at now. I want to help ensure that we’ll always be proud of UESP. --GuildKnightTalk2me 01:03, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Support: GK is an excellent choice for an Admin. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 01:10, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support: Absolutely no problems here. GuildKnight has always been a helpful editor who has done good work in both small and large projects. She has been an active patroller on this site and has also had experience of administrative duties on other wikis, which will mean she can hit the ground running here. Being active on IRC will also mean another op-level eye on that resource too. –RpehTCE 03:10, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support: One of the most active users on the site, very few mistakes, cant see any reasonhy you shouldnt have this status. --Volanaro TCE 03:24, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support: As a very active editor, IRC frequent and generally helpful and pleasant person, GuildKnight is an excellent candidate for administratorship. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 12:23, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support As above, and... Good judgement. --Wrye 22:01, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support It's pretty much all been said. --Darkle ~ Talk 23:35, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support I'd been thinking for a while that GK would make a good addition to the Admin team. With myself unable to be active as much as I used to be lately (real life issues intruding), and Nephele, Ratwar and Eshe all seeming to be in semi-haitus state right now, Rpeh has been the only really active Admin around for a while, and I think he could use a little bit of back up. --TheRealLurlock Talk 00:08, 21 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support: Exactly what everyone else said. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk)/(Contribs) 13:43, 21 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support: GuildKnight will make a fine administrator. I've never seen her jump to conclusions too quickly, and she is always open to discussion. She is not afraid to do hard work. Both are good traits for an admin, so a definitive support from here! --Timenn < talk > 09:12, 22 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Oppose: She's too pretty to be an Admin. --Timmeh Talk 16:38, 22 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Support: I agree with pretty much everything that's previously been said (except that she's too pretty to be an Admin ;) ) --NepheleTalk 23:07, 3 November 2008 (EST)
