Another Naked Nord?[edit]

Morrowind had a recurring theme involving meeting Nord males in advanced states of undress along the side of the road (a fact that Bethesda commemorated with the Easter Egg Character Forstagg The Sweltering in Morrowind's Tribunal Expansion.) Yngvar just may be a candidate for inclusion into the Naked Nord Club, though I wonder if the fact that he wears pants would disqualify him. --— Unsigned comment by 65.14.2.104 (talk)

I don't know, I'd say the pants would be a bit of a disqualifier, not to mention the lack of witch-involvement. Also, this is hardly the only instance of crazy-naked person associated with Sheogorath in Oblivion - there's a couple of loony nudists hanging around Sheogorath's shrine without the expansion. (Note that the Morrowind naked Nords did NOT have any stated association with Sheogorath, nor were they depicted as crazy.) I'd say the Bloodmoon naked Nords might be related - there's a lot of witches in Bloodmoon if you count the Fryse Hags. But this is a bit of a stretch, maybe. --TheRealLurlock Talk 09:35, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Forstagg didn't have any witch involvement either, and you met him in a plaza, not along the side of the road, and he's still counted among the Naked Nords. In Yngvar's case, all he has going for him is you meet him on the road, and he's shirtless. I suppose he could count as merely an associate instead of having full membership in the Naked Nord club. --— Unsigned comment by 65.14.2.104 (talk)
Forstagg didn't actually have witch problems, but he DID mention witches, so it was clearly a deliberate reference. I don't know about Yngvar, but from what you've described, I don't think he qualifies. Many male characters are seen shirtless in the games, and the fact that this one happens to be a Nord doesn't make him any more significant than, say, Caius Cosades. (The only other topless male character I know the name of, but there's plenty of others, both in Morrowind and Oblivion.) If he were pants-less, or had a witch-problem, I'd say you had something, but from your description, I'd say it's just a coincidence. --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:42, 30 March 2007 (EDT)
Well I think he dose... He is predicting the Greymarch, witch if you just hear it's name & that it's a 'holiday', kinda strikes one as a voo-doo thing. Witch, in a sence, is true, theres the king of a relm who once every thousand yrs gose ape! In simpler tirms, there is a god who is severly bipoler/splitpersonality/posesed be demon... & then the creatures in SI, well u see were I'm taking this right? Lirum 20:30, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
No, it sounds completely irrelevant. Lurlock provides more than enough to support the right criteria for what is a reference, and what is not. --Timenn-<talk> 12:45, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Post-Greymarch Dialogue?[edit]

Does he have anything new to say after you stop the Greymarch? --Debatra 12:50, 28 November 2008 (EST)

Yup. I just added all his unique dialogue to the article. –RpehTCE 03:45, 29 November 2008 (EST)

Wilderness Faction?[edit]

While I was checking the CS for Yngvar's factions, I noticed that he's also listed as a member of SEWildernessFaction, which I can't seem to find anywhere. Does anyone know why this faction has not yet been included on the site? –Eshetalk 23:13, 16 June 2009 (EDT)

Walking the other direction[edit]

Like Jayred Ice-Veins, I try to protect Yngvar since he's unessential and goes through the wilderness on his own. So in order to reverse-pickpocket some bound armor onto him I also followed him around a bit. Strangely, I've noted that when I reverse-pickpocketed some items, he turned around and walked the other way! That is, instead of from Bliss-Highway-Hale and so on to Crucible and Bliss again, he turned around and walked the other direction. But, when he walks the other direction, he doesn't go to the settlements, and sticks to the main road. At least he skipped Split and Hale, I didn't follow him longer than that. Maybe someone can look at it and his script and confirm, and also figure why he does this? SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 12:25, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

The AI Travel packages only tell the destination. So it might have been to something caused Yngvar to conclude that the fastest route wasn't available, and instead he elected to follow an alternate path. It would seem then as if he reversed his schedules, but it doesn't have to be the case. --Timenn-<talk> 15:44, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok, so it isn't Yngvar-specific then, thus nothing to add to the article. Well, shortly after that he went the right direction again, so it's just temporary. SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 19:10, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Healing?[edit]

His chance for surviving in the wilderness seems very small since he hasn't got any potions and from what I've seen he can't heal himself using spells either. Could someone please confirm this? SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 12:41, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

If you read the article you find the answer: Yngvar isn't best prepared for his trip around the Shivering Isles: he wears only leather boots and greaves and wields a silver warhammer.Elliot(T-C) 12:49, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I have read it. But it still doesn't answer if he has any spells. SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 12:52, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
No, he doesn't use spells. That too is mentioned on the page. Wolok gro-Barok 13:00, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, but it ain't. I even tried searching for "spell" and "magic" but nothing came up. But can he heal himself using any other methods? He doesn't seem to sleep or anything... SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 15:06, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
You have to click on the show button on the cleanup-tag. I think his health restores when you are not near him for a while, but I'm not sure. Wolok gro-Barok 15:27, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, didn't know the purpose of the label - thought it had nothing to do with the article. Thanks, but could someone please confirm if an NPC's health restores in the player's absence? SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 16:13, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

() All NPCs in the immediate vicinity of the player are healed when the player rests. Leveled NPCs who have not hit their maximum level that are not in the immediate vicinity of the player are healed when the player levels up (because their stats are recalculated). Apart from that, I don't know. --Gaebrial 08:23, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Yngvar In Crucible?[edit]

I have sometimes seen Yngvar walking through the streets in Crucible. Is this just a coincidence, or is his AI programmed for this? — Unsigned comment by Sheogorath's Punished (talkcontribs) at 20:01 on December 19, 2010

As it says on the page, his route goes through Crucible. Please read the page before you comment on it. And please sign your posts. --DKong27 Talk Cont 02:36, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
