Weye is a settlement located in the Heartlands of Cyrodiil, on the Western Shore of Lake Rumare. It can be found at the end of the main bridge connecting City Isle (and therefore the Imperial City) to the mainland.

History[edit]

A settlement existed at Weye even before the construction of the bridge, as far back as the Second Era. During the Alliance War of 2E 582, Weye was initially located within the territory held by the Daggerfall Covenant, although the area changed hands many times over the course of the war. Weye's two Altmer residents remained in the settlement during the war.[1] A sewer grate near the settlement was used to access the Imperial City during the Planemeld. This was done primarily by the Covenant army, which established a base within the sewers.[2]

The bridge connecting to the Imperial City was built sometime later, although it seemingly did nothing to increase the size of the small settlement. By 3E 433, Weye consisted of the Wawnet Inn and a fisherman's hut.[3] The inn's publican, Nerussa, was a collector of wines, and with the help of the Hero of Kvatch amassed a large collection of Shadowbanish Wine, which was quite ancient and rare by that point.[4] The Wawnet Inn was also home to Rowley Eardwulf, a vampire and a member of the Crimson Scars, who had come to Weye after he escaped a Dark Brotherhood Purification in 3E 421.[5][6]
