Ananril behind her stall in the Bruma market

Ananril is a Wood Elf apothecary who runs a stall in the Bruma market. During the related quest she will task you with collecting a series of ingredients for her and reward you with several potions.

After waking up at 8am, Ananril heads straight for her stall without even eating breakfast. For the next twelve hours she will offer her services, buying and selling all manner of alchemical products. Once her shift is over, she heads to the Jerall View Inn for some food and drink until midnight, when she will head home and go straight to bed.

As you approach the market area you will already hear Ananril trying to attract customers: "Potions! Elixirs! Poultices! Alchemical wonders, all here!", "Heal wounds! Restore willpower! Regain your energy! Potions for sale here!" and "My mortar and pestle can make near any potion or poultice!". She will then greet you with: "Only the finest potions.", "I take pride in my potions.", "If you want a potion, you want me" or "Before you ask, I don't sell poisons. Like, really. I wish people would stop asking.".

If you ask her how business is going, she replies: "Good enough. Nothing to write home to Chorrol about, but it's a decent living". If you note that there aren't many Bosmer in Bruma, she will agree: "No, there aren't. Doesn't matter much to me, but sometimes I do feel kind of isolated among all the Nords and Imperials". Ask what brought her to Bruma and she will reveal: "There wasn't already an alchemist in town when I came up here, and I figured it was a burgeoning market and a ripe opportunity. Fortune favors the bold, or so they say".

Ananril wears a set of blue mage robes and some farm boots and is armed with an iron war axe. She also carries the key to her house, four leveled Restore Health, Magicka or Stamina potions (best possible) and a random selection of gold, lockpicks, gems, jewelry, food and drink.

At her stall you will find displayed a draught of resist magic, a potion of regeneration, a potion of stamina, a potion of vigorous healing, a skirmisher's potion and the Speech skill book The Buying Game. Underneath the stall is an adept-locked chest, while a small, key-requiring chest sits on top of it.

Bugs[edit]

  • Ananril was also meant to have the following conversation with Elintius Rentilia, but the two will never cross paths:

Elintius: "Good day to you Ananril! Sales are going well, I trust?"
Ananril: "Ah, Elintius! It's always delightful to have you stopping by. Sales are as high as ever, thank you!"
Elintius: "You know, I would love it if you accompanied me whenever I get another expedition assigned to me from Cadius."
Ananril: "I would love to Elintius, but I'm not so sure your boss would want me there."
Elintius: "If I can be so bold, I think we could both use a vacation. Well, then I'll just have to talk to him about that won't I? I'll talk to you later!
Ananril: "Goodbye!" ?

Conversations[edit]

While at her stall in Bruma may overhear the following conversations with Harald Burdsson, Eddvia Jucani and Ruccia Jucani:

Eddvia: "Ananril?"
Ananril: "Yes, my dear? What would you like to purchase?"
Eddvia: "Would you possibly be able to make a...a love potion?"
Ananril: "A love potion? As far as I'm aware, there's... no such thing. Even if I could make one, who would this be for? It couldn't possibly be your boss, now would it?"
Eddvia: "Ananril!"
Ananril: "Oh, Eddvia, your infatuation with him is clear to everyone. But is this really how you want to win his heart?"
Eddvia: "I...I guess not. Sorry to bother you."
Ananril: "Don't be discouraged. You just have to try intoxicating him another way. Without potions. Try winning his heart."
Ruccia: "Good day, Ananril. The usual, if you would."
Ananril: "Of course. Just a moment... here you are. And, if you don't mind me asking...is he getting any better?"
Ruccia: "Yes, yes. In fact, the only thing that still hurts is his pride. I told him this sort of thing could happen when you get older, but no, the fool still won't come and get the treatment himself..."
Ananril: "Ah. Well, with this salve, he should be fully... restored."
Ruccia: "Thank you, darling. And, if I may, a piece of advice - never get married."
Ananril: "What can I get you? I have the finest potions-"
Harald: "Ah, that is not why I am here, though thank you for the offer."
Ananril: "Don't tell me you're here to-"
Harald: "I am here to discuss with you the Champion of Cyrodiil, for it is the Champion who saved Cyrodiil and all Tamriel from the Oblivion Crisis!"
Ananril: "I realize you don't mean any harm, but you're interrupting my business and scaring away my customers. Please, buy something or leave."
Harald: "My apologies, friend! I will return another time!"
