Creature Sandbox[edit]

Yeah, your Creature Sandbox: User:TheRealLurlock/Sandbox_IV is using a ton of old images that have been replace. Do you still need them, or can we delete them? (Or you can delete them if you're in the mood). --Ratwar 01:26, 30 June 2008 (EDT)

I've repurposed the sandbox, feel free to go and delete them. --TheRealLurlock Talk 01:23, 16 July 2008 (EDT)

Lore:Tamriel[edit]

Lurlock, I speedy deleted the article you created because we can not create any "Lore:" articles until the namespace is created. What would have happened with that article is that the moment Daveh creates the Lore namespace (which for all we know, could happen at any second) that article would become completely lost. You would no longer be able to view it, edit it, move it, or even delete it. The page would show up in odd places (like the list of all pages in the main namespace, and dead end pages, and other places -- just like the old phantom Daggerfall:Hints article). I'd rather get rid of any such problem articles now instead of having them become permanent phantoms that can't even be deleted after the namespace is added. The issue is also described at UESPWiki:Namespace Move Project#Tamriel. --NepheleTalk 15:59, 4 July 2008 (EDT)

Okay - any problem if we keep the article in a temporary location until then? Not that I put a whole lot of work into it, but it's an article we should have at some point, and one we've long been missing. As a matter of fact, if the page will disappear into this phantom zone, that will include it's deleted versions, so I think I'll go ahead and back it up somewhere for now... --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:50, 4 July 2008 (EDT)
Yep, creating any such articles in the Tamriel namespace for now makes more sense. They'll automatically get moved over to Lore, and then the articles will be ready when we need them. --NepheleTalk 19:29, 4 July 2008 (EDT)

Bloodworm Helm- Artifact?[edit]

Lurlock, we have the Morrowind:Bloodworm Helm under Morrowind:Unique Armor, which is technically correct. However, since it appears in the the Morrowind:Tamrielic Lore book and is also noted on Tamriel:Artifacts, should we reclassify it as an artifact, with its own page? What do you think? --BenouldTC 14:22, 10 July 2008 (EDT)

Yeah, that one and Morrowind:Necromancer's Amulet are tricky ones, in that they both use generic art in Morrowind, but are considered artifacts in other games. (Sort of the similar problem to Morrowind:Auriel's Bow, Morrowind:Auriel's Shield, and Morrowind:Volendrung, which are artifacts in other games, and exist in Morrowind with unique art, but have no enchantments.) I don't think it should be reclassified per se - we have standards and we should keep them as standard just so that there are rules that we can use consistantly. However, a possible compromise might be to have them listed in both places, maybe with a note on the Artifact pages that indicate that this artifact actually uses generic art. (And a note on the Unique Items pages pointing to the full artifact pages, saying "May be considered an Artifact" or something like that.) We sort of did that with Tribunal:Barilzar's Mazed Band, which uses generic graphics but is still important enough to have its own page. --TheRealLurlock Talk 14:37, 10 July 2008 (EDT)

Getting MW Armor Artifacts featured[edit]

Lurlock, after the combined effort, I was thinking of nominating Morrowind:Armor Artifacts as a Featured Article. It holds up quite nicely compared to Oblivion:Artifacts and ties mythical lore in with practical use. Would you mind double-checking the facts on it, I am unsure which enchant/ charges were used, level 1? Also, I doubt you need to take new images of the artifacts, I separated yours out and squared them on new backgrounds. --BenouldTC 21:18, 11 July 2008 (EDT)

Question, though - why Armor Artifacts and not Weapons, Clothing, and Other? They're all roughly the same in terms of quality and formatting, so it seems weird to single out one over the rest. Maybe just featuring the overall Artifacts page might be preferable, except that it's basically just a table of contents for the rest. As for the Enchant/Charges thing, the Enchant skill wasn't even factored into it. If you look at the enchantments in the CS, it clearly shows the Enchant and Charge values, and you just divide one by the other to get the Uses. Obviously, this value will change depending on your Enchant skill, but I don't know the exact formula off-hand. (I know that a low Enchant skill actually gets you less than the listed number of uses, and a high value gets more, but I'm not sure where the equilibrium point is - maybe 50?) If somebody knows this formula, it should probably be listed on the Enchant page, and maybe a standardized note should be added to all magical items pages indicating that the "Uses" value is an estimate, which will vary based on your skill. Oh, about those images, good work for the most part, though there's a few that I'm not happy with, as that background pattern is kind of distracting and makes it hard to see the item in some cases. E.g. Spear of Bitter Mercy, Staff of Magnus. Maybe if the pattern were a bit more muted or something. --TheRealLurlock Talk 23:39, 11 July 2008 (EDT)
Sure, I take another look at those. As far as nominating the series, my thoughts were along the line yours, actually, the overview page is bland. All are deserving, maybe we can add a good header/footer, like a navbar or your footer, linking to the others? --BenouldTC 00:56, 12 July 2008 (EDT)

Tribunal item list[edit]

Lurlock, ah, my bad. I had too much trust in the magic of the CS then. If you could put those tribunal-only lists in a sandbox, I'll fill in as many details as possible then. Thanks, BenouldTC 00:57, 16 July 2008 (EDT)

Well, not necessarily perfect, but you can do what you wish with it: User:TheRealLurlock/Sandbox IV. While it IS possible for the Morrowind CS to export a list of all new items added by a mod, this only works with mods that use the ESP extension. With ESM master-files like the expansions, this option does not exist. I suppose the way to do it would be to export the entire list both with only Morrowind loaded up and again with Morrowind and Tribunal, and use one list to filter out the other, but that requires more scripting knowledge than I feel up to right now. --TheRealLurlock Talk 01:21, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
No need for that, I and others had already created most of the items. Added a bunch of redirects, and started creating the Tribunal:Quest Items page. Whatever doesn't fit the categories will land on the "Other Item" page like all the daggers that Tribunal:Geon Auline‎ holds, I suppose. --BenouldTC 03:04, 16 July 2008 (EDT)
I could resolve everything but the keys, thanks to Eric , see list at User:Rpeh/Sandbox/8. Categories for redirects would have to be double-checked, and I can't get any further with the keys, but they are listed under Tribunal:Other Items#Keys. I suppose you can prod Tribunal:Item List now ;) --BenouldTC 16:40, 16 July 2008 (EDT)

Thanks[edit]

I changed the images. I guess a lot had changed here since the time I left. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk)/(Contribs) 19:55, 28 July 2008 (EDT)

Topright Template[edit]

Just incase you need a template that allows for multiple images to be placed on the topright, check out this. I copied this from the RuneScape Wikia. It works perfectly. The only thing though, is I don't know how to place images within the template, while being able to change where the image takes you, instead of the image taking you to the image's page. DaedryonTCE 00:57, 31 July 2008 (EDT)

Hmm. I think I've got it covered with what I'm using so far. (I just copied and modified the code from the Featured Article template.) The only possible conflict I can see might be if any of the Official mod pages ever gets Featured, we might have to do something funky in that case. But we'll worry about that if it happens. Thanks though. --TheRealLurlock Talk 01:01, 31 July 2008 (EDT)
