Welcome[edit]

Well since you asked... welcome back to the wiki. I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. You might want to look at our Getting Started page for some tips on how to begin, then play in our Sandbox for a while to practice. If you need any help or advice, please ask one of our mentors. Enjoy! –RpehTCE 15:32, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

Reverting Edits[edit]

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that it is not necessary to revert edits just because they were made by an anonymous IP. We encourage everyone to contribute to UESP, even if they haven't made an account. In the future, please check the (diff) page to see the changes made to a page before reverting it. If you're not sure about the edit, it's best to leave it alone. Also, could you please avoid using all caps in your edit summaries? It would make the Recent Changes page a bit easier on the eyes. Thanks! –Eshetalk17:12, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

sorry, i was speaking to rpeh about this. thankyou anyway. there has been alot of unknown editing that has no point.
but thankyou for the advice. i think i am trying to hard lol. HMS WARSPITE 17:14, 31 March 2008 (EDT)
Edits that fix typos do not have "no point." They are helpful edits, and we welcome the help of anonymous editors to fix problems such as typos that they notice when editing a page. Undoing their edits not only makes the wiki worse (by reintroducing a mistake), but it also will drive away people who want to help the site. So please do not assume that "unknown editing" is bad. In fact, a key principle on the wiki is Assume Good Faith, which says that you should do the exact opposite: assume that any edit did have a point and was made with good intent. --NepheleTalk 17:24, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

ok i will do in the future. thanks for the advice. much appriciated. HMS WARSPITE 17:26, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

You have already been told about reverting stuff just because it was made by an anonymous user, I just had to undo one of your reverts so I'm guessing you didn't actually listen. AS it happens the last edit you undid was not vandalism so there was no need to undo it, also you left an entire section empty, please can you not do that again. Volanaro 07:15, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

i didnt leave a section empty if there was nothing in it anyway.

Actually if you look at the page history, you will see that actually you did leave a section empty for no reason Volanaro 14:15, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

Cookie jar[edit]

a cookie jar isn't much use unless you get given a cookie, you only get one for extreme dedication to the wiki, something you lack! Considering you have virtually nothing useful to contribute i don't see why you would need one. Volanaro 04:34, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

what i ment was a contents page but i see i had one any way, you dont need to insult, u fool. calm down a bit. HMS WARSPITE 04:37, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

OBLIVION[edit]

Hi mate, How long have you had oblivion then. Benny220 05:52, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

i have had oblivion a while. i must say that i dont play it often beacuse games like halo 3 and call of duty 4 have taken over for a while. i have had some acheivments from that game. but yeah shooters have taken over at the moment. HMS WARSPITE 06:00, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
I have not yet played oblivion as i am currently playing morrowind. You should play it. It is good fun Benny220 06:02, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
na i would but it is not on xbox 360. HMS WARSPITE 06:03, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
Yer i know. Its about 50 years old. lol. Benny220 06:08, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
yer you know. lol HMS WARSPITE 06:09, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
If it was on xbox 360 then i would buy and xbox 360 just for the better graphics because i also play this like everyday when i get home from school. Benny220 06:14, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

This is not a chat forum[edit]

I've told you severaltimes that this is not a chat forum, you two are sitting right next to each other and cloggin up serverspace and the recent changes screen with you idle comments, canyou please stop. --Volanaro 06:10, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

what are you going on about. idiot. we are allowed to talk on our talk page. that is kind of the point you know. any ways we are talking abourt oblivion, not something else. so quit trying to find us in the wrong. HMS WARSPITE 06:12, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
My point is that youare clogging upthe recent changes page and server space on the UESPWiki, you two are sitting right next to each other forcrying out loud! what's wrong with just talking to each other? Volanaro 06:14, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
We are not sitting next to each other volanaro. We are in different rooms. And completley different buildings. Benny220 06:15, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
we do change lessons you know. look i have been on this wiki. i have not vandalised nothing but still you go on saying i have benn abusing the site. either way i lose. HMS WARSPITE 06:18, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

Archive / Contents / Talk Pages[edit]

An archive is really just a set of links to subpages. You can copy the code from mine if you want. As for a table of contents, you can use the code __TOC__ to force the wiki to produce a contents box.

Volanaro has already pointed out that this isn't a forum. If you want to ask a question, please ask it once and then wait for somebody to reply. You shouldn't use talk pages for personal chatter - they're supposed to be used for discussions as to how the wiki can be improved and it can be disruptive for other site members to see all your posts and have to patrol them. Thanks. –RpehTCE 06:10, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

ok ok. :(. all he did is ask me if i had the game or not. no offence but i cant see the problem in that. it is not like it is about star wars or something like that. you know what i mean? HMS WARSPITE 06:14, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
ok i will create another account on the forum, if thats ok? HMS WARSPITE 06:23, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
A few questions would be fine, but you have made a couple of dozen posts today, most of which have had no relevance to the game. It can become a bit annoying having to patrol them all.
You're welcome to create a forum account but you might be even better getting a chat program and using that. –RpehTCE 06:25, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
ok i am activating my account now. thankyou. HMS WARSPITE 06:29, 1 April 2008 (EDT)

The "How active are you?" thing.[edit]

Wasn't that Benny220's idea? --Odd.bod 09:22, 11 April 2008 (EDT)

No matter. Volanaro put me right!

--Odd.bod 11:42, 11 April 2008 (EDT)

yer but i thought it was a good idea so i put it on my discusssion page
Guys, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW ACTIVE YOU ARE! You'll never be judged as better or worse just because you have more or fewer edits than another user. As long as you are editing productively, it is of no consequence whether your edits compared to other users are high or low in number. Don't make such a big deal out of it. --HMSVictory 10:49, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
i know, i put it on there. i thought people might be interested in how much they edited. i think it is nice to know. that is all. HMS WARSPITE 10:54, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
Yes, it's just that people suddenly seem to be making a huge fuss about how many edits they have. Especially you, Michaeldsaurez and Benny220. --HMSVictory 10:56, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

i dont make a huge fuss, neither does benny220, we were just curiuos. (btw got to go) HMS WARSPITE 10:59, 13 April 2008 (EDT)

I certainly hope you don't. And I don't need to know if you're going or not. No one does! If you're going, go! This site is not a chat room, as we've said countless times! --HMSVictory 11:01, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
Why do you keep talking about me? All I said was, "Wow, Benny220, I didn't know I was that active." HMSVictory, do you have something against me? You're always on my case. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk)/(Contribs) 11:05, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
I'm fed up now. Are you happy? I am not "alway on your case!" I am merely pointing out that you seemed to be one of the users who were making a rather large issue about their edit count. No, I don't have anything against you, I just find it frustrating when two new users who spend most of their time on the site chatting to each other start declaring "Everyone must know how active they are!" --HMSVictory 11:09, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
This is the only time I mentioned how active I was until now. Once isn't a lot, which is definitely not most of the time. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk)/(Contribs) 11:17, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
...Which is why I said two new users instead of two new users and you! --HMSVictory 11:19, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
lol. i didnt know that putting a 'how active are you' on MY discusion page would make you have a fit other it. personaly me, and on behalf of benny220, we would like to know how much time we have spent. it is not a crime.
we have done nothing against the law. i dont see why you are having a go at us. please inform me. — Unsigned comment by HMS WARSPITE (talkcontribs)
I am not accusing you of a crime. I am just saying that it is pointless to fret over the ActiveUsers page. --HMSVictory 11:42, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
dont mind me saying but this is a pointless dispute YOU started. i think your picture of a cat on your page is pointless. why dont we a have a pointless discussion about that. anyway i have had the how active are you think on my page since this acount started. your the first one to be bothered about it. HMS WARSPITE 11:46, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
The active users page is not there so that one person can say "I have more edits than you!" It's there so that curious users may check how many edits they have. HMSVictory, accusing HMS WARSPITE of only caring how many edits he has is completely unjustitied. If he wants to look at the active users to see how active he is, thats ok. That's why the page was created in the first place. If you want to accuse all users who display their activity on their userpage, you'll have a long list to go through, starting with Nephele, and working your way down. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 12:19, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
thankyou someone that understands. finally. got that sorted. HMS WARSPITE 12:23, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
I didn't spark off an argument/dispute etc here did I? If I did, I'm so sorry. --Odd.bod 06:31, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Hi[edit]

Seriously...[edit]

Ok, this log on count thing is getting on my nerves, If you need to keep track of when you log in to uesp just write it down on a piece of paper or something, this is not bebo and this is not a forum so please don't treat it like either. Imagine if every user had this "Log On Count" thing half the recent changes page would be clogged up by people making pointless additions to the userpage, can you please at least think about ditching this idea. --Volanaro 11:31, 26 May 2008 (EDT)

Ok, strangely I'm going to side with HMS WARSPITE here. The log on count doesn't exactly "clog up" the recent changes page. We're talking about one edit every few weeks, as he doesn't even come on the often. Ok, if everyone did it, it would be a bit stupid, but they don't - Game LordTalk|Contribs 11:52, 26 May 2008 (EDT)
lol @ volanaro. i have clogged up the recent changes page have i. oh dear. what that 1 edit this week and about 4 this month. hhhmmmmm i really do clogg it up.(sarcasem):| and your really that sad if 1 or 2 edits a week(if that) gets on your nerves. you need to take a break. stop trying to have a pop a me. HMS WARSPITE 15:19, 27 May 2008 (EDT)
Volanaro may be going a little too far here, but it doesn't help to have the kind of edits you make sticking out for others to patrol. I mean, I don't see the point at all in a "Log On Count," but you're entitled to it on your userpage. And sometimes it's you that needs to take a break, so don't go rushing to judge others. --HMSVictoryTalk 05:06, 30 May 2008 (EDT)
hang on a minute. how many edits do i do here really. nothing compared to you and volanaro 1 every 2 days if that.HMS WARSPITE 06:23, 31 May 2008 (EDT)
