Fainat Masiriran

Fainat Masiriran is a Dark Elf trader and an Ashlander visiting Firewatch, where he has set up a stall to hawk his wares. He has brought with him a sickly pack guar named Lesa, but appears to be in denial about it - although at higher disposition levels he will confess to simply being afraid to leave her alone while he searches for medicine.

As part of the Imperial Cult quest Blessing for a Beast, Theurgist Tarom will request that you restore the poor guar to health. To Fainat's credit, he does express some gratitude for this deed despite having denied anything to be wrong.

He wears a netch leather cuirass, a set of chitin greaves, a pair of common pants, and a pair of netch leather boots. He wields a chitin dagger, and carries 22 gold and some of the wares he restocks for his stall.

Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows the following spells: Balyna's Perfect Balm, Mother's Kiss, Strong Heal Companion, Veloth's Benison, and Veloth's Gift.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Greeting:
"It's easy to lose sight of real Dunmer craftsmanship behind these high Imperial walls. Luckily for you, my guar and I have brought a selection of the finest trinkets and souvenirs."

Imperial Cult: Blessing for a Beast[edit]

  • Greetings:

If you examine Lesa before talking to Fainat:

"Why are you poking and prodding at my Lesa? She's not a sick guar, she's just a sleepy guar."

If you cure Lesa without talking to Fainat first:

"What magics did you cast on my Lesa? You shouldn't do that kind of thing without asking first." (Disposition down by 5)

If you cure Lesa:

"Your magics worked -- she's healed! Thank you, outlander."
"Thank you for the gift, outlander."

If you kill Lesa:

"I'll never forgive you for what you did to Lesa." (Disposition down by 30)

If you kill Lesa without talking to Fainat:

"My guar! What have you done!?" Goodbye (Disposition down by 30, and he attacks)
  • sick guar:
"I keep telling you people, she isn't sick. We've had a long journey, and she's tired. That's all."
  • She's definitely sick.:
"And you're definitely pushing your luck. I don't know you, outlander -- get out of my face!" Goodbye (Disposition down by 10)
If Disposition is at least 60:
"You're right, I know you are. But what can I do about it? If I leave her here to find medicine... what if something happens to her while I'm away?"
  • You can use this potion to cure her.:
"You're giving it to me? Oh -- I'll feed it to her now!" (Removed Potion of Cure Common Disease from your inventory)
  • Continue:
"She's looking better already, isn't she? Thank you, kind %PCrace." (Disposition up by 40)
  • I may be able to cure her with magic.:
"You could? Please, if you know the magic, try." Goodbye
  • I don't know.:
"That's all you have to say? Then why did you bother me?" (Disposition down by 5)
  • I see.:
"That's all you have to say? Then why did you bother me?" (Disposition down by 5)
"Thank you for your generosity, %PCName. And thanks, as well, to your gods."

If you cured Lesa without talking to Fainat first:

"Look, she's not sick at all. She's fine!"

Imperial Cult: The Star Wound[edit]

"Red Mountain is the great mountain of fire in the center of Vvardenfell. The outer slopes are steep and rugged, and the crater is deep and filled with burning rock. Beasts and servants of the Devil Dagoth Ur live on Red Mountain. The settled people built a magical barrier called Ghostfence to keep the evils inside. Within the Ghostfence, rain never falls and the sun never shines; the only weather is the red and deadly ash-blight."
  • How was it formed?:
"I will tell you what I can, healer. The Mountain was made when a god fell from the sky. I think a Wise Woman will know more. You should seek out tribe Ahemmusa on Vvardenfell. They have a Wise Woman."
