Bugged?[edit]

I was playing around with the console on a few different races/genders in order to hear the insults spawned via Throw Voice, and it appears (at least for me) that some of them don't work. Male and female Breton and male Khajiit all have the dialog (hey slug breath! et al.), while male Argonian, female Dunmer, and female Khajiit don't. The subtitle for the taunt appears, but no dialog plays. Anyone experience this with other races? Or do they work for everyone else and I just need to verify files? --64.238.165.221 04:30, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

I just tested on my female Khajiit and my female Argonian and they both had a voice clip play for the shout. You can distinctly hear them say "Gut." 71.163.235.35 09:19, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Oops, I misunderstood! Indeed confirmed, both characters say the words of the shout but not the actual "hey cheese brain" stuff. Having moved on to a female Redguard I now hear the difference (she plays the voice clip). 71.178.115.32 17:09, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Confirmed. Male dunmer has no dialogue. Broxigar 09:45, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Male Altmer has no dialogue. Mkxv 12:38, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Female khajiit confirmed for not having a voice. And for the record, they do say "Gut", but with male khajiit, you actually hear a voice say "Hey, cheese brain" — Unsigned comment by 24.4.13.84 (talk) at 08:44 on 31 December 2011
My female khajiit does not say any of the taunts also. Sometimes she says what sounds like "Fuuhhhh gut!" when the shout is used on high (clearly two words), or just "Ewweeewggh..." on low (sounds like a "huff" of air). The sound made on low is definitely different than the first sound made on high. However, sometimes she only makes the "Fuuhhh" sound, even when the shout is used on high. This is on the Xbox.--Amsuko 05:54, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
Male Argonian only says "hey" or "it ghuts" — Unsigned comment by 76.125.206.53 (talk) at 20:29 on 14 March 2012

() Female Altmer has no dialogue either. Alarra (talk) 09:45, 28 October 2012 (GMT)

Follower reaction[edit]

In the Notes section it says followers investigates the shout. I guess that's a bug. It's my 2nd time beating the game, I used that shout many times in several places with different followers, none of them reacted to my shout. It might be a bug for some cause obviously your followers shouldn't investigate it as it will ruin sneaking by starting a combat between NPCs. --Heartseeker 12:36, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

  • Followers will also investigate the noise, often causing fights that you were trying to avoid. To prevent this, have followers wait somewhere out of earshot if you plan to use this shout.
I've moved it here because no-one has confirmed it the entire time it was on the page. I suspect it may be true but I wouldn't call it a bug in any case. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 02:41, 6 November 2013 (GMT)

Silent Casting + Throw Voice[edit]

It seems to me that the Illusion-perk Silent Casting renders Throw Voice useless as nobody can hear the shout anymore. — Unsigned comment by 178.191.166.129 (talk) at 14:20 on 6 January 2012

Probably a developer oversight, well spotted.RIM 14:22, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
Throw Voice works fine with Silent Casting. I use it all the time to see if there are hostiles around the corner. --97.73.64.155 17:17, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
Confirmed, Silent Casting does not interfere with Throw Voice. 71.178.115.32 17:09, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
It makes it so the shout is not audible - the insult, however, is. Sometimes NPC's will hear your whispered shout to send them off to the other end of creation and ruins the whole deal.Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 19:20, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Followers using throw voice[edit]

A possible bug/glitch where when opening dialogue with a follower they use a line from the trow voice shout. Occurred with Lydia and Marcurio, possibly more (but these are the only two I have confirmed with). Possible mod bug with AFT (according to a friend) but occurs in my vanilla game as well. 71.236.133.14 01:58, 19 January 2014 (GMT)

While he's not a follower, Ainethach has been using these lines with me. He was my spouse, but I used console commands to end the marriage, yet he remains at my house and gives his Karthwasten dialogue and he still has the option to ask him how my kids are doing. But every once in a while he'll call me slug breath or cheese brain or one of the other insults. I'm assuming it has something to do with me using the console.69.35.211.248 00:18, 16 February 2014 (GMT)
Well you did divorce the poor guy, it's not surprising he feels that way towards you :) — Unsigned comment by 92.24.246.170 (talk) at 19:20 on 3 September 2014 (GMT)
