Water Flows?

Where in the Gameinformer magazine article did it mention flowing water? I can't find that in the copy I have beside me. Arthmoor 08:02, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

"To create a diverse country filled with steep mountain passes and dense forests, babbling brooks and violent waterfalls, glacier coastlines and snowy tundras, Bethesda went back to the drawing board". Brooks don't babble if the water isn't flowing. rpeh •TCE 10:14, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
That frankly sounds more like overly descriptive details from the article's writer. There's nothing to confirm they actually implemented flowing water in the new engine. It just seems more prudent to have a better verification than one vague line from the article that doesn't confirm anything. Arthmoor 10:35, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Well the VG247 article disagrees with you. It explicitly states "Water flows". In any case, it would be very odd if Bethesda were to build what they call a "precipitation system" and not include water. rpeh •TCE 10:46, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
That VG247 article has an entire section full of unsourced information. The blurb "water flows" appears in a totally unsourced section which is based on a forum post on a 3rd party site that's born entirely of speculation. I think information posted here ought to be based on more reliable sourcing than that. Arthmoor 11:00, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
P.48, text box, 5th sentence: "Trees and branches move independently, and water flows in swift currents, imparting a sense of energy and life to the world even when no other creatures stand nearby." --GKtalk2me 15:42, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Wow. Totally missed that when I read the article. Arthmoor 20:25, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

The article says 10 races... but after my count and observations we only had 9 to play previously... will we see another race coming in ? — Unsigned comment by 69.196.31.250 (talk) on 17 feb 2011

Altmer, Argonians, Bosmer, Bretons, Dunmer, Imperials, Khajiit, Nords, Orsimer and Redguards. That's ten. rpeh •TCE 17:35, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

It's the proper term for Orcs. rpeh •TCE 10:29, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Yeah I am sure that they will be the same race's because if they were to remove a race they would have to do alot more work than if they were to keep the same race's I know that there will be Nords, Khajiit and imperials thats i know about it.--Auggie 20:57, 28 May 2011 (UTC) --Auggie 20:57, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

dragonborn?

i thought a dragonborn was someone from the septim bloodline, the blades in cloud ruler shout "hail dragon born, hail martin septim!" when you enter first time. the article says a dragonborn is a dragon hunter, can someone explain?

The Septim bloodline are dragonborn, but they are not the only ones. From p.57 of the GameInformer issue:
"Individuals called dragonborn wield the same mighty power as the dragons themselves. "The dragonborn can battle the dragons on another level," Howard describes. "They're anointed by the gods. That's why they can light the dragonfires to become an emperor. They kind of help make the world whole." These powerful figures were supported by the dragonguard, later called the Blades. After the dragons' retreat, the Blades eventually came to guard one ancestry of dragonborn individuals, the Septim emperors. Unfortunately for the world, that line of rulers has now been wiped out, and the dragonguard has been hunted down and nearly destroyed. No dragonborn has been seen in decades until you arrive- a dragonborn with the potential to stand against the tide."
--GKtalk2me 18:38, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Doesn't the wise woman of the Urshilaku clan say that the Nerevarine is dragonborn? I'll play through the game soon, I'll check then. — Unsigned comment by Athathar (talkcontribs) at 14:48 on 11 February 2011 (UTC)
The only thing I can find is The Lost Prophecy, which says, "But Dragon-born and far-star-marked," which Gilvas Barelo seems to think suggests the Nerevarine was "Born under foreign stars and the sign of the Dragon -- the Imperial sign." --GKtalk2me 15:23, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
This question has also come up here. It seems there are several people experiencing false memories. rpeh •TCE 17:51, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
If you're of Dragonblood, could you potentially be the next emperor? Seeing as Martin's dead, surely it defaults to nearest verifiable relatives, e.g. you? Also, are yout the Dragonborn, or are you helping the Dragonborn? Oblivion was an amazing game, but my much stroked gamer's ego objected to not being the most important person there. Apollo Quinn 00:40, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
That is a common mistake, you are not actually related to Martin or anybody in the Septim bloodline. Many years ago there were actually multiple bloodlines of these Dragonborn, however overtime they have slowly died out. It was thought that when Martin Septim died, the last of the Dragonborn were lost, however you have turned up, a Dragonborn from a different bloodline.--216.81.21.131 08:32, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
I get that, thank you, but since you're still related albeit incredibly distantly, you should be able to take the throne - that's how it works in real life. Since you're Dragonblood, you are related to Martin. QED, you can take throne. Apollo Quinn 15:18, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
It only works like that up to a point. Most countries wouldn't react well these days to some total stranger being put on their throne. Since we also know Titus Mede took the throne by force (and presumably his descendants still rule) you'd have the small problem of dealing with them, too. So even if you could prove that you're related to the Septims (which you can't) you'd still not get anywhere. rpeh •TCE 15:50, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

() And don't forget that the dragonfires are no longer needed. A normal emperor is just as good as a dragonborn emperor. Legoless 16:35, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

I agree with Legoless. At the end of the main quest in oblivion when martin smashes the amulet, he has permanently sealed the barrier between the "deadlands" (i.e, oblivion) and Nirn. So, there is no need for a dragonborn to light the Dragonfires. Besides, you need the Amulet to light the Dragonfires, and that was destroyed by Martin.

Count Marius Caro 14:58, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

More to the point, I don't think we can assume that all Dragonborn share a common ancestor. It's possible they sprung from multiple sources.Minor Edits 23:29, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

IS there going to be a beta or some possible way i can play the game before its release? Ascaffo 01:34, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Skyrim News

This website is getting very behind in Skyrim's news. There is a ton of new information such as legal screenshots, an extensive podcast by Todd Howard, and many other things. Skyrim will have one-handed and two-handed weapon skills instead of weapon types. Game Informer has much more new info, and it is frustrating not to be able to update it on your own. I think the moderators are neglecting. — Unsigned comment by JJBerthume (talkcontribs) on 7 February 2011

How about you provide some links to this new news, so we can verify and discuss whether we want the info on this page or not. Admins are not responsible for updating this page every single time news comes out; they are not the only editors, and you are perfectly capable of presenting the news on this talk page so someone can update the page. -- Jplatinum16 22:18, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
JJBerthume is stating the obvious, but he's right. I believe gameinformer has now revealed all its information about the game they received + the additional Podcast. I would suggest to put a link to the podcast and add links to the other articles, so we have a clear newsitem containing all of the information. I think that is worthy of being put on the main page. That a good idea? ~ Dwarfmp 19:56, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
I'm not a member here, but I do check the front-page for news, and I do agree that it is pretty far behind. I would suggest modelling your news approach on what the fallout wiki did for New Vegas [1], their news was always very comprehensive throughout that game's pre/post release, and I (and many, many other people) visited it daily to check the latest news. Its basically a blog-style page that members can add news items to, I think it would work well here. 60.242.230.18 23:59, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
I agree that we're a bit behind, but that is first and foremost because of the fact that this is a marketing machine running amok and we can't keep up, nor will we - this site deals with the contents of the existing games and is not your typical internet news bulletin. When we find really interesting news, we will post them, just like we have done until now. --Krusty 00:52, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
When there's real news about the game, it'll probably feature on the front page. Continually copying stuff from BethBlog to the front page, however, is pointless. Important information is getting added to this article. If you want a blog to keep you up to date, subscribe to BethBlog. rpeh •TCE 03:04, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
The aim is not to keep up with the marketing machine 'running amok' by posting links to every single Skyrim story on the Internet, that's just obscene; information tends to get released in batches, with every second gaming site re-reporting their own interpretation. However its not unreasonable, nor even prohibitively hard, to have something along the lines of a "This week in Skyrim news" feature that contains all the little scraps of information released by various sources over the past week. As far as I know, there's nowhere online doing that for Skyrim like the fallout wiki guys did for New Vegas, which is disappointing. At least half of the coverage over there came from one guy calling himself Ausir, so it could easily be done over here if somebody were to put their hand up, hell, I'd be willing to do much of it myself if a blog-style template was set up for me. Anyway, not meaning to criticise the site etc. etc., just some ideas that I think people would have liked. 60.241.28.197 05:53, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Okay, let's be clear here. The Fallout 3 wiki is awful. It's just bad. Really, really bad. Any argument you make saying that UESP should be more like The Vault is starting from a demonstrably-wrong premise.
Ausir is now a Wikia employee, so he gets paid for shiling for their sites. Nobody on UESP enjoys that status.
If you want a blog, I've told you where to find it. We were far more up to date than any other site when it came to TESV news during the years of rumor and intrigue. These days you can't turn your head without being assailed with random TESV news, we're doing what we do best: concentrate on the important stuff.
If you want a blog, I've already told you where to go.
In general, if you don't like UESP, you're free to head to any of the other sites that provide the same level of high-quality coverage. Except there aren't any.
Good day to you. rpeh •TCE 06:03, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

her?

It says "The king of Skyrim has been murdered, triggering a civil war among her people, the Nords." I think its should say "his" instead of "her" because the subject here is the king and when you say "her" it is referring to the king. So I think the sentence should be changed to "The king of Skyrim has been murdered, triggering a civil war among his people, the Nords." 67.252.190.158 01:18, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

No. The subject is Skyrim. "Her" is refering to the region, not its king. --Brf 01:58, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Actually, the subject is "king," of which Skyrim is a modifier. Skyrim is the direct antecedent of "her," so the sentence is probably grammatically correct as written, but it is confusing (I read it wrong the first time). How about, "its people, the Nords." — Unsigned comment by 76.90.139.231 (talk) at 18:54 on 10 February 2011 (UTC)

UESP Pages On Skyrim

I was wondering what will be the adverage time for it to take to make the pages on the site to be detailed with info.— Unsigned comment by 216.197.179.134 (talk) on 10 February 2011

I presume when the game comes out, or nearer the release of it. Hang tight. - Emoboy64 22:13, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Hopefully we'll get enough information about the game in general to at least complete some of the groundwork. Like a sneak peak of all of the primary cities or important features in the game with a small preview of them. I'd imagine it would be pure hell if Bethesda keeps it lips sealed about the game, trying to work on thousands of new pages while dealing with all of the anons, trolls, vandals, and new members who show up because of the game. To answer your question we can only work with what we are given, we aren't officially affiliated with Bethesda Soft-works (see the name of the site) and the only information we have to go on is what they release. In the mean time why not browse some of the developed parts of the site instead of worrying about Skyrim? --AKB Talk 22:29, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Well when I get Skyrim I want to play it so I know my way around the cities and then try to start modding ASAP and I want to be able to look on UESP and see if I make a quest at this place and see if it conficts with a vanilla quest or not. But elseif I will just play Skyrim and do majority of the quests and then begin modding. — Unsigned comment by 216.197.179.134 (talk) at 23:11 on 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Just chill out we still have months to go until it comes out. --AKB Talk 23:11, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Don't forget that UESP's editors will want to play the game themselves. The first priority with a new game is to have fun with it, not document it for other people. It'll take as long as it takes. rpeh •TCE 07:54, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
On the flip-side though, there may not be much information now but I imagine we will probably get quite a bit of information and even game play videos come E3. I am somewhat surprised about how little we know about a game that is coming out this year but I'm sure we'll have many pages of information before the games release, even if it is just by a couple weeks. Dubious link

moved from main page

The size of Skyrim is roughly the same as Oblivion's Cyrodiil, which was 16 square miles, or 41 square kilometers.[2] There will be over 130 dungeons to explore, all crafted by a team of eight, whereas Oblivion's were created by one person. These dungeons, upon the players first entry, will automatically lock to the players level permanently, to remove the possibility of grinding. [3]

I'm not very sure about linking to forums for info like this (and you can see why if you follow the second link). -- Jplatinum16 03:46, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Agreed, forums shouldn't be linked to at all for sources of information. Especially when they have characters claiming they recieve a magazine early because "maybe" the delivery office knows they are [supposedly] a video game journalist themself. RaidensTechSupp 04:35, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Daedra

Is it possible we'll be intweracting with the daedric princes again? 208.118.27.217 04:58, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Daedra have been a part of TES since Daggerfall. They were integral to Battlespire, were present in Morrowind, Bloodmoon, Oblivion and Shivering Isles. I imagine we'll see them again. The fact that Sheogorath was able to open a portal even after the closure of the Oblivion Gates means that the connection between Mundus and the other realms is still open. rpeh •TCE 05:01, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
What I would like to know is how will Sheogorath be ? I mean ... ummm ... he cannot have the same voice because that old Sheogorath left on SI so ? Though I think they should add a plugin like Shivering Isles. JackTurbo95 18:54, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Dungeon designers

The article makes it sound as if one designer made EVERY dungeon in oblivion, but I'm pretty sure Tod Howard meant and said one designer PER dungeon, so now there's eight per dungeon. I can't see one guy making the 100+ dungeons that were in Oblivion. --70.184.239.162 06:11, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Actually making a dungeon is not that hard. I myself have stuck to more public interior cells, but using the tools available while developing the game, 1 person could easily create many dungeons. Although I do not know for a fact that it was but one person. I would sure get sick of it after a while. --DKong27 Talk Cont 16:35, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Back when I played Morrowind all the time, I made quite a few dungeons, buildings, and entire regions. It takes some time, but once you get used to it you can put together a complete dungeon in a couple hours. If it's a small dungeon it might not even take that long. I haven't done as much with Oblivion, but I wouldn't think it would take that much longer. One method that they (and I) used was to have certain combinations of the dungeon pieces that you used over again in different dungeons. If you pay attention you'll notice that there are a lot of caves that have areas that are copied or at least mostly the same. Woverdude 21:20, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

In oblivion one guy made the dungeons, but now in skyrim its a team of eight making more than 150 dungeons

The Canonical Player Character

After seeing the first gameplay footage on elderscrolls.com, and them portraying YOU as a male Nord, as far as canon goes, does this make Dovahkiin a male Nord? Would an official trailer even have any say on whether something is canon or not? They are simply advertisements, meant to get you excited about whatever movie or game they're previewing. Does anyone have any other info or opinions about this? — Unsigned comment by Doctormccorm (talkcontribs) on 25 February 2011

I think that while there's always been an "official" character type (male Dunmer in MW, Imperial in OB and Nord in Skyrim), the games have always done remarkably well at letting you be whoever you want. Even the idea of a female Argonian being the reincarnation of one of Morrowind's greatest heroes caused nobody to bat an eyelid. The trailer is just an advert. rpeh •TCE 09:50, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
In addition, the lore of the ES universe is extremely effective at allowing for the player characters in each of the games to have been any race (except, of course, when a particular race is forced in the game). --GKtalk2me 00:50, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Game map?

Should we add the newest map of skyrim to the article?--Archain 15:02, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

If you mean this, it's far too low quality to use. We'll need to wait until a proper version emerges. It wouldn't go on this article in any case. rpeh •TCE 22:32, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

That's nice, but it's fan-generated isn't it? rpeh •TCE 22:48, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
If it is, it's a damn good replica. The map from the video is almost the exact same (at least in the land outline). Legoless 22:51, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
It seems it was made by some people from Bethesda's forums. There's a better version here, but it's also fan-generated. rpeh •TCE 23:09, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Anyway, if we find a game-map that is made by bethesda, i think we should add it to the article.--Archain 14:07, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
I think we have a potential problem for the site. Based on releases by Bethesda to IGN, shown on their site, the new Skyrim map would be 3-dimensional and scrollable. If all sections of the map, and smaller dungeon maps, are 3D depictions on-screen, how would we acurrately show the maps on-site? The map wouldn't just be a flat image like in Oblivion. Would we need to take screenshots, from standardized viewpoints? I think this issue could be huge, as maps are an integral part of this Wiki, and provide substantial information. - Neural Tempest 07:08, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Keeping the Page Updated

Hi all... I'm new to this editing stuff, but I've been reading from this site for the past few years whenever needing help on TES games. So, I thought I should start getting involved. I am checking the GameInformer website a few times a day, so I will put up new items whenever I see them up for a little while over there and not here. If I am doing anything wrong... More Concept Art

I'm not sure how to upload files to the wiki and put them on the concept art page, but I found some more concept art for Skyrim. I searched fro Skyrim on DA and found a user who claims he was commissioned by Bethseda and posted his artwork up on his page. I don't know if Bethseda has decided to use the for the game, but they're still cool. You can find them in his gallery: Cohenr's Gallery

Here they are individually:

[5] [6] [7] Woverdude 22:52, 4 March 2011 (UTC)

Good find. I'd agree with uploading them, unless someone can find reason why not. Legoless 23:48, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not so sure because, I'm sorry to say, I don't believe the claim. They have their own in-house art team as shown on several videos, so there's no reason for them to commission works from outsiders. Secondly, if the images really are copyright Bethesda, a) cohenr is breaking the law by uploading them to Deviant Art, and b) we'd be breaking the law by hosting them here. Lastly... they aren't very good pictures, IMO. rpeh •TCE 09:17, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
That was my concern. Some games have commissioned their artwork, but I don't know if Bethseda has. He did attribute it to Bethseda, so I don't know if it would be illegal, if he actually did it for them. I know of one other artist on DA, a fairly popular one, that was commissioned to do quite a bit of artwork for the Total War series and he was able to put them up there. I'm not very familiar with the copyright laws for images. Woverdude 14:43, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Even if that isn't legit, there is some art that is on the official elderscrools.com that isn't displayed here. There are some good screenshots that we could make another section for on the wiki. High King?

I noticed on the official Elder Scrolls website that it says that the "High King" of Skyrim was murdered, not simply the king. Is this something worth changing on the page or should it just be left as a regular king for now? Lord Nordeck 23:07, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

I'll change it. --AKB Talk 23:12, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Size?

Bigger or smaller than oblivion. In between oblivion and morrowind.Any updates on this — Unsigned comment by Nordico982 (talkcontribs) at 17:28 on 7 March 2011 (UTC)

I heard that it's roughly the same size as Oblivion. This is all rumours, of course. Legoless 17:16, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that Todd Howard said it was the same size as Oblivion in one of the podcasts, but the mountainous environment makes it feel far larger. --Kvaener 18:25, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Known Skills

The screenshot of the skills menu on the Bethesda website (http://www.elderscrolls.com/skyrim/) shows seven skills: Alchemy, Illusion, Conjuration, Destruction, Restoration, Alteration, and Enchanting. Two other skills are partially shown: something ending in "aft" (possibly Speechcraft) and another beginning with "Smith" (my money would be on Smithing). The main Skyrim page notes the five surviving schools of magic; it might be worthwhile to point out the others.

Also, the character in the screenshot is Bendu Olo, and he's a Dark Elf. Warms my heart....

Rusty 19:40, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

I wouldn't think they would take out Speechcraft so I reckon that. JackTurbo95 19:43, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Smithing also sounds like a likely one. You're supposedly going to be able to craft armor and weapons, so "Smithing" would probably fit better than "Armorer". Does anyone know if they're going to include a Spear skill, or at least have them in the game? Woverdude 04:18, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
I dont think it has been mentioned anything about spears yet. If it is spears in the game, i doubt it will be an own skill for that. Ive also heard that they will combine some skills, like having one skill for both speechraft and mercantile. --Archain 20:23, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Todd Howard did briefly talk about spears on the GameInformer interview, and he said that at the moment there weren't any, and they weren't planning on putting any in. Same with Werewolves and Dragons as mounts. So its possible, but highly unlikely. Here's the link: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/podcasts/archive/2011/02/03/toddhowardse.aspx

Interesting. This might be something for the article.--Archain 16:52, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
the one with the word ending in AFT the star sighn looks like a bow...bowcraft. im not sure, it could be speech craft — Unsigned comment by Charlie 3rd (talkcontribs) on 21 mar 2011
But if you look there are more skills than constellations so I doubt it's matched, but could be. — Unsigned comment by 68.228.253.48 (talk) at 12:34 on 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Well of course there will be more skills than constellations; each constellation represents a set of skills that are similar, i.e. mercantile/speechcraft, sneak, lockpicking and other such skills would be under a "rogue" or "thief" constellation. I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere that they would all be governed by thief, warrior, or mage constellation. Much like the character creation in Arena if you answered questions instead of choosing everything yourself. SKADOOSHHH 06:48, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
In the G4 segment at E3 (available here: http://n4g.com/news/781445/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-e3-2011-13-minutes-demo, around the four minute mark), a lot more of the skill menu is revealed. In addition to those noted above, we see Smithing, Heavy Armor, Block, Two-Handed Weapons, One-Handed Weapons, Archery (not Marksman, and not Bowcraft) and Light Armor. Various sources have confirmed that there are eighteen total skills, and that Athletics, Acrobatics and Hand to Hand are out. We've seen the fourteen above, so there are four more unconfirmed (probably in the Thief hierarchy, since we've seen mostly Mage and Warrior skills so far). I strongly suspect that Sneak and Security will make the cut. I'd guess Mercantile and Speechcraft for the last two, but that's purely a guess. Rusty 17:31, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Dovahkian

does this mean you cant choose your name? (Eddie the head 06:41, 8 March 2011 (UTC))

You've spelled that wrong - should be "Dovahkiin". I very much doubt it. In Morrowind, you were the Nerevarine, but that didn't stop you choosing a name for your character. Dovahkiin, like Nerevarine, is a title - not a name. rpeh •TCE 07:05, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Birthsigns

Ive never seen any mentioning that there will be birthsings in skyrim. Anyone who knows this? --Archain 17:21, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

It looks like they've been omitted from character creation. However, they now play a role in the new skill tree. Every time you unlock a perk one of the stars making up one of the three main constellations (Mage, Warrior and Thief) brightens up. So you can still see them in the night sky and in your inventory, but you won't be born under one. In the future you'd be better served to have a look around the forums for things like this, so as not to clutter the talk page and to be able to participate in good old speculation. :) Legoless 17:31, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I only wrote it hear because its not a mentioning of it in this article, so i thought if there was someone that had this information we might have it for good use. Next time ill ask my qustion in a diffrent way. --Archain 17:40, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

PC Gamer Skyrim Preview

Recently PC Gamer has featured a preview of Skyrim. Though a lot of the information is old, some new nuggets of information can be gathered from it, such as the inclusion of Polearms as weapons, or which weapons can be duel wielded.

I put this here as I'll forget about it if I don't, and I am to busy to edit the article to include this right now. Feel free to incorporate this into the article yourself, but I plan to in a bit. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 01:18, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

With polearms coming back, has anyone heard whether or not Throwing Weapons may make a return under marksmanship? With bows now going slow but powerful with arrows being rare, it seems like Throwing weapons could fill in the fast/weak spot that bows used to have at range. --Nikomis 17:00, 5 May 2011 UTC

MMO

Is Skyrim going to be an mmo because i've heard it will and it wont. Now im confused. So is it mmo or just rpg?? — Unsigned comment by Jamz slack (talkcontribs) on 26 March 2011

Nope. Skyrim is a single player RPG, but it seems that a multiplayer game is being developed by Bethesda's parent company, Zenimax. This may or may not be Elder Scrolls-related. rpeh •TCE 09:23, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Shouting

From the videos and some information that people seem to have gotten, shouts seem to be an important part of this game. I came across the book [8]in the archmage's room in Oblivion. It seems to have some important information on the whole shouting idea. Tenk 13:46, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

New Podcast on OXM

so there was a link recently added to the elder scroll's website, elderscrolls.com, which leads you to a podcast by OXM, but it is on itunes. I, unfortunately, do not have itunes. could someone possibly check it out for any new info? heres the link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-official-uk-xbox-360-magazine/id356150877 thanks. SKADOOSHHH 05:27, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

That podcast is quite old by now. I couldn't sit through it, but I'm sure the page have been updated by now if any new info were revealed. --Krusty 07:13, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Adding a new section to this page

I think it would be useful to people who want to know about Skyrim to have a summative list of all the released information on the game. It would be a great tool for quick reference and it would make figuring out all the new 'stuff' about Skyrim more manageable. It would also make it easy to update this page with new information, instead of searching for the proper place and rewriting sentences, you could just add another bullet.

There is a full list of all the currently known information on Skyrim here. It includes a list of sources and is very comprehensive and well put together. I think it should be added. If people agree, I can add it myself.--216.81.21.131 07:24, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

New Interview

There's a new interview with Todd Howard up on IGN here. Not sure if it's front-page newsworthy yet, but some things like the new CS being similar to the old one are interesting news. rpeh •TCE 18:28, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

New screenshots? [9] [10] [11] Legoless 18:56, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm thinking the Screenshots would need to make it to the main page.--Corevette789 19:14, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Damn but this game is going to be beautiful. I'm going to suggest that we hold off uploading those for the moment. Hopefully Bethesda will put them on elderscrolls.com without the huge IGN logo, then we can upload those instead. rpeh •TCE 19:18, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Three more new ones too: [12], [13] and [14]. rpeh •TCE 19:22, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
Images are all up now - better versions were uploaded. rpeh •TCE 14:09, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
