Successor[edit]

Do we know who is next in line for the throne? Evlydia 02:44, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Unfortunately, we do not. --Arkhon 07:15, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Presumably Amaund Motierre was either in the running, or was working for someone who was. RedwoodElf 00:55, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Given that Vitoria Vici is a close cousin of the Emperor, and no sons or daughters of Titus II are ever mentioned, I assume she may have actually been the closest living relative - but it's never mentioned, and of course she dies anyway. Motierre is probably making a power grab either as would-be Emperor, or as a kingmaker, trying to push his choice through the Elder Council while all the generals are busy with the wars. There may or may not be a clear heir, and in fact probably isn't because otherwise you'd have to get rid of them too, like at the end of the First and Third eras. However no outright evidence is given.JLE (talk) 03:26, 30 July 2019 (UTC)

Attire[edit]

His outfit looks unique, I have not seen it in the game before. Is it takeable? Emzi43 21:56, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Yes, it is. By doing main quest for the Dark Brotherhood, you will be able to get his outfit. Even multiple copies... --Arkhon 07:15, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
There is one on him, and one folded at the foot of his bed in his bedroom. --174.6.51.17 14:21, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
The one that the fake emperor wears is also takeable. --Vulpa 17:12, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
You can also raise him as a Thrall, which causes his clothing to respawn when you zone. Sadly, no one has any special reactions to your pet undead emperor. 24.130.119.213 20:27, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Removed Note[edit]

  • Titus Mede II does not wear the Amulet of Kings as it was destroyed when Martin Septim shattered it during the Oblivion Crisis.

I removed this from the article because it is not relevant. Titus Mede is not a part of the Septim Dynasty, and it is already canon that the Amulet of Kings was shattered. Pointless to mention. —SkoomaManiac 00:34, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Emperor's double?[edit]

Does the Emperor's double use the same BaseID and/or RefID? If not, should there be a page for him? --Darth l33t 23:57, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Just on a quick check, yes, it does look like the Emperor's decoy has a separate ID and everything. Any thoughts on this? eshetalk 15:47, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Note it down on this page? I think it pointless to create a page for a minor character who is seen for such a small amount of time and is (I presume) the same? --kiz talkemail 15:49, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
A seperate page has been created with all relvant info. The Silencer speaksTalk 18:18, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Joining the Legion Changes?[edit]

When you join the Legion, Tulius makes you swear an oath of loyalty to the Emperor, specifically referring to Titus Mede II specifically. If Titus is already dead by this time are there any changes to this scene? Does Tulius still make you swear loyalty to a man you personally murdered, or does he make the oath more generic, loyalty to the empire but no mention of who is running it. Or, better yet, does he actually tell you who the new guy is (or will be) — Unsigned comment by 174.25.43.155 (talk) at 12:27 on 16 October 2012‎

The difference in dialogue is simply that Titus Mede is removed from the sentence, the other part is identical. "Upon my honor I do swear undying loyalty to the Emperor, Titus Mede II..." becomes "Upon my honor I do swear undying loyalty to the Emperor..." Civil War comment[edit]

In the notes section: "Titus, as well as the Penitus Oculatus, will still remain in Skyrim even if you've resolved the Civil War in favor of the Stormcloaks, even though Skyrim is supposed to be an independent nation at that point."

Ending a civil war doesn't make it an independent nation unless you naively believe that the empire threw all its troops at skyrim all at once. There's still the whole of Cyradiil to deal with as well as what's left of the rest of the empire. 174.130.36.62 01:30, 6 October 2013 (GMT)

The politics of the situation are not relevant to this article. This sort of discussion is more suited for the forums. --Xyzzy Talk 04:57, 6 October 2013 (GMT)

Theory[edit]

shouldn't you technically be the emperor? you ARE the dragonborn after all, like Martin [R.I,P] — Unsigned comment by 76.64.247.90 (talk)

Being a dragonborn is orthogonal to being an emperor. Just because the Reman and the Septim dynasties were dragonborn doesn't mean being a dragonborn makes you emperor (Miraak wouldn't have needed his weird cultist-based scheme to take over the world if it were! He's dragonborn too and he has seniority over the player character), or that being emperor requires being a dragonborn (the Mede dynasty aren't). Simply put, being emperor requires having an empire. And that's not just a question of being a super-warrior capable of defeating anyone else in combat: no man rules alone, what you need to be the boss is for other people to obey you. And turns out, the player character is not really that good at being obeyed; canonically he can only get one person at a time to follow him; you're never gonna take over the continent this way! :p --Gez (talk) 17:36, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
Nvr thought of that, but martin only had you as an ally and yet still became emperor although that was after he met the blades — Unsigned comment by 76.64.247.90 (talk) at 14:00 on 6 January 2021
Martin became Emperor because he was the only surviving heir of Uriel Septim VII and therefore had a legitimate claim to the throne. The Blades rallied behind him because they needed a dragonborn Emperor to re-light the dragonfires and stop the Oblivion crisis. — Wolfborn(Howl) 23:29, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
valid point thank you — Unsigned comment by 76.64.247.90 (talk) at 14:47 on 7 January 2021 (UTC)
