Veren Duleri, formerly Casimir

Veren Duleri is a Dark Elf mage and a worshipper of Vaermina living in Nightcaller Temple. When Nightcaller Temple was attacked by an Orc war party intending to destroy the Skull of Corruption, the worshippers released the Miasma, a gas that put everyone to sleep. Years later, when the Miasma is finally lifted, he and Thorek will attempt to defend the Skull of Corruption from Erandur, whom they consider a traitor for fleeing the Temple.

He wears a set of Vaermina robes and boots. He wields a leveled mace that may be enchanted depending on your level.

Veren knows the following spells: Lightning Bolt, Sparks, Fast Healing, and Lesser Ward.

Quest-Related Dialogue[edit]

You first encounter Veren Duleri in the Dreamstride, conversing with Thorek, another Vaermina devotee:

Veren in the Dreamstride

Thorek: "The orcs have breached the inner sanctum, Brother Veren."
Veren: "We must hold. We can't allow the Skull to fall into their hands."
Thorek: "But... no more than a handful of us remain, brother."
Veren: "Then we have no choice. The Miasma must be released."
Thorek: "The Miasma? But, brother..."
Veren: "We have no alternative. It's the will of Vaermina."

Veren will address you with:

"And what about you, Brother Casimir? Are you prepared to serve the will of Vaermina?"
I've made my peace. I'm ready.
"Then it's decided. Brother Casimir, you must activate the barrier and release the Miasma. Let nothing stop you."

He will tell Thorek:

"Brother Thorek, we must remain here and guard this Skull with our lives if necessary."
Thorek: "Agreed. To the death."
Veren: "Then let it be done. Farewell, my brothers!"

You will encounter Veren and Thorek again as you and Erandur reach the Skull of Corruption.

Erandur meets his old friends

Erandur: "Wait... Veren... Thorek... you're alive!"
Veren: "No thanks to you, Casimir."
Erandur: "I no longer use that name. I'm Erandur, Priest of Mara."
Veren: "You're a traitor. You left us to die and then ran before the Miasma took you."
Erandur: "No. I... I was scared. I wasn't ready to sleep."
Veren: "Enough of your lies! I can't allow you to destroy the Skull, Priest of Mara."
Erandur: "Then you leave me no choice!"

You and Erandur will have to fight the two Vaermina devotees. As he dies, Veren will say:

"How could you, Erandur..."

Notes[edit]

  • There is another version of Veren Duleri with the BaseID 0002427c and RefID 000242a7. He is used in the scene where you enter the Dreamstride. He wears the same outfit but will always have a steel mace. This version of Veren looks quite different than the version encountered at the end of the quest, with a different hair color, beard, lips and eyes. He is the only person in the quest that has such a change, as both versions of Thorek look identical.

Bugs[edit]

  • Sometimes if you kill him, an invisible version may remain where you killed him, which responds to your actions. ?
