Limits of Following?[edit]
At one point, I read somewhere on the wiki here that Rona will not follow you if you leave the grounds of the castle. If this is the case, it might be a good thing to add to the article, so people don't get the idea that they can take her along as an unkillable meatshield on their adventures. 72.28.170.64 14:41, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- I just did a quick test and can't get her to follow me outside the Private Quarters, let along the castle. Any more details anybody? --Rpeh•T•C•E• 16:21, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- They designed a wall for her I guess around the castle, so you don't lose her in a dungeon or something, Someone can add this to her article if it already hasn't. --Western3589 16:25, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- I just found her at Sideways Cave. After clearing out the cave, on my way out, I found Rona on her way in. Her only dialog option was "Rumors." Now, at one point inside Battlehorn Castle I asked her to follow me, but then dismissed her before even moving. I never noticed her following me. After speaking with her, she left in the general direction of Battlehorn Castle, though I didn't follow her, and it's a long way. --GuildKnight (Talk) contribs 23:58, 12 November 2007 (EST)

- I had not asked her to follow me, but I just found her in Memorial Cave. She had none of her usual dialog options, only the generic ones, and she didn't sound like she liked me much. --moiety — Unsigned comment by 75.55.115.198 (talk) at 05:46 on 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- I found her in oblivion and her only dialog option was Rumors. every now and again she appears, in the imperial city, in a dungeon, in the wilderness and I have no way of dismissing her — Unsigned comment by 81.141.181.130 (talk) at 14:24 on 24 September 2009 (UTC)

(←) She sometimes shows up randomly when you fast travel, and briefly talks to you (non-dialogue) before heading straight back to the castle. Going back to the castle, asking her to follow me, and then asking her to return to her duties fixed this for me. Mathiusdragoon 15:03, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- I realise this conversation is mostly old, but I just found Miss Benanius in the middle of the Oblivion gate on the peninsula northeast of Leyawiin. In my file, she's never gone anywhere except the private quarters of Battlehorn Castle, so this was quite a shock to me. She was fleeing; I killed the Dremora and she started talking to me like normal. Don't know if this is important or not, but there ya go. --Zy Pfenix, 2349 hours EST, 5 Nollaig 2010 — Unsigned comment by 74.115.59.126 (talk) at 04:49 on 6 December 2010 (UTC)

- So I tested it somewhat, and i found that, if commanded so, she will follow you until she catches up with you and then turn around. During this time outside the castle there is an opportunity to increase her disposition. You could theoretically make her follow you indefinitely, but it would be tricky, time consuming, and, since she runs away at the first sign of battle, ultimately pointless. 24.56.229.160 09:35, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
Stealing?[edit]
There have been discussions concerning her hobby of stealing valuable items from display cases. It isn't confirmed so probably not worth adding to the article yet, but something to keep in mind. — Unsigned comment by 65.30.143.89 (talk) at 03:22 on 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Whenever I come into the private Quarters she is standing over the display case. One time the case was open and the items were on the floor --Cheap Thean 22:52, 4 March 2008 (EST)

- She is doing the same to me. I'll watch her the next time she is in my quaters and see if she'll take anything. 77BeTa77 15:16, 10 March 2008 (EDT)

- Update. She didn't take anything. Though it seemed like she wanted to. She opened the case, but never took my armors. 77BeTa77 16:38, 10 March 2008 (EDT)

- Today I caught her stealing an enchanted weapon I had on the table in my private Quarters. I pickpocketed her and found the weapon in her inventory. I took the weapon out of her inventory and it had the stolen icon!! I had just attacked her (I don't like her poking around my room) and it seemed as if she took the weapon to defend herself. I reloaded my game and was able to duplicate her stealing the weapon 2 out of the 5 times I reloaded. I wish I could get rid of her. Josmith0110 22:31, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
- Oblivion:Things to Do When You're Bored#Eternal Sleep|Fatigue damaging items might be an idea if you want her out of the picture. 86.46.217.21 08:06, 1 May 2009 (EDT)

(←) I don't know about stealing, but the display case in the bedroom is glitched, so that when you put an item in it, said item tends to fall through the bottom of the display case. I put a Battlehorn Shield in there and it vanished. It could be that she stole it, but equipped it, so it doesn't show up in her inventory when pickpocketing or in her hand (because she doesn't also have a weapon equipped). Can you check equipped items when you knock out an essential npc? If so i could check her inventory for it Mathiusdragoon 15:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

(←) As I have said, you can't pickpocket items from her if she has equipped them Mathiusdragoon 01:03, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

- You could do what I always do: As soon as I get her I drop a silver dagger and make her pick it up so she never takes a prized weapon or use up a prized staff. (Silver dagger because it looks good with her upper-class attire)--Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:19, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Stuck In Vile Lair[edit]
At one point I had Rona follow me, I had fast traveled to Cheydinhal to buy a horse, when I came out from the house she was there but started walking back to the castle. Later on in Deepscorn Hollow I noticed that my Dark Minion hadn't returned in some time so I went to the ladder and there was Rona, just stood there. The only speech option is Rumours. Attacking her doesn't bother her at all, Demoralising her makes her run off but come back to the ladder again after it's worn off or she enters another cell. This has happened to me before a long time ago before but I didn't realise who she was before. I actually thought it was someone that my minion tried to kill but couldn't due to her being essencial so she followed him back (for whatever reason) I'm going to try using a Command Humanoid spell to get her to follow me out and see if that fixes her and maybe the Dark Minion.
I'm just wondering if anyoneelse has ever had this problem as it's the second time it's occured for me so I'm assuming it must have happened to others. --86.25.181.147 21:07, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
- This Happens with any follower you have, for example sending a Dark Brotherhood Murderer back to the Cheydinhal Sanctuary while inside the vile lair will result in him or her going to the nearest exit of deepscorn, which is usually the ladder but for somereason only the player and the Dark Minion can use that exit. Try attacking her which will get her to follow you and lead her out the main entrance (the one that is underwater).--VergilSparda 16:27, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Bug[edit]
Using the scroll glitch and selling some expensive stuff, I bought all the upgrades for battlehorn castle at once. But then I went to the living chambers, and Rona wasn't there? What happened? (also, the blacksmith's dog wasn't there either)--Arch-Mage Matt 19:44, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- Check the rest of the castle. (she doens't just wander aimlessly in the bedroom all day), and Hjalti (the Dog) isn't there because its a bug you'll see it on it's page.--VergilSparda 18:13, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

hi ii have a idea to get rona to stop stealing...lock her in the secrite room!(i'm not sure if it really works though)--GUM!!! 13:25, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

- Locking her in a room will not work, she will reload elsewhere when she resets. Damage Fatigue for Perma-Sleep would work, but she's already wearing clothes, so she'll only put on a hood, which won't be enough; you can only enchant an item with Damage Fatigue for 5 points, and the recovery is faster than that. You'd need about 15. The only real solution, it seems, is to keep killing her with Damage Health, Fire Damage, et al. --DaedalusMachina 08:54, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

SHE WONT LEAVE![edit]
I can't get rona to leave my private quarters! She just walks around my private quarters, opening the display cases and saying the same irritating greetings! She's there 24/7! HOW do I get her to leave? — Unsigned comment by 71.166.34.152 (talk) at 19:19 on 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- Try having her follow you and then letting her go. Or go away from the castle for a day and come back. If she is still there, you can use the console command
disable
on her if you are on the PC. Vesna 01:04, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

- I'm planning on taking her into an Oblivion gate one time and managing to get her up to the Sigil Room. If I can do this, I'll knock her down the tower and she'll be trapped in the lava pit below. — Unsigned comment by 68.98.209.85 (talk) at 10:21 on April 11, 2011

She was glitched in my display case[edit]
Okay, so I'm in my quarters at battlehorn. All is well. Rona has a nice pair of electrical shackles which cause her to collapse and shut her arrogant mouth. Anyhow, she's standing by the display case and I'm at the chest in the secret room when I start hearing the sound of something metal breaking the physics engine (we all know that sound, the constant clanking) I walk into the room to find my her collapsed, unconscious, in my display case with my elven dagger and clannfear claw (long story) I open the case, the dagger flies across the room at the speed of a train, the claw had already been forced out of the case. Within 10 seconds she gets up, then falls over out of my case. I tried to take a picture but I had no time. Is there no way to keep her from messing my display case up? — Unsigned comment by 68.88.56.36 (talk) at 05:19 on 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Get her to follow you into the hidden room within your private quarters and lock her in there. She can't activate the pillar, and she never takes the hatch to go around, so all is well. You may hear footsteps though, as she'll constantly be trying to walk through the wall and failing. 64.203.232.18 18:58, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
