Related Quests[edit]

Notes[edit]

  • This ruin can be entered, fully explored and all items retrieved without starting the related quest. Selling the Ayleid Statue found in Wenyandawik is one way to start the quest.
  • There is an Ayleid Well right next to the entrance, which will supply you with some potentially useful extra Magicka.
  • Wenyandawik also appears in ESO.

Exterior[edit]

Zone 1: Wenyandawik[edit]

Wenyandawik

This zone is fairly straightforward and split into two areas. The first is a smaller section with multiple alcoves for coffins which hosts a single minor loot chest, while the second is a large room with two levels and three doors leading to the next zone, Wenyandawik Edesel.

You will arrive on the upper level of the second room, from which you'll be able to snipe down onto the three enemies patrolling below. All around the upper level at regular intervals are twelve Welkynd stones in easy to reach pedestals, as well as a minor loot chest along the eastern wall. The lower level contains no loot, but head down and then back up the stone stairs to the raised platform in the middle of the room, where you will find a minor loot chest possibly guarded by an enemy.

The main decision now is which of the three doors to use to enter the second zone. D is initially inaccessible, leaving a choice between C and E. The northern door (C) is recommended because it leads more quickly to the valuable items in the next zone while reducing the amount of backtracking you will need to do. Open the gate at F by using the press block (cyan dot on map) nearby and head into the next zone.

When returning from the second zone via door D, you may face an enemy in a close quarters battle, though the gate at G will open as soon as you approach it.

Occupants:

  • 3-6 Undead Enemies (each 83% probability Undead, 17% Rat)

Treasure:

Doors and Gates:

  • There are four doors in/out of this zone
  • An Ayleid Iron Gate (F) blocks access to the northern exit door (C), but the gate is easily opened by the activation blocks (cyan dots) located on both sides of the gate.
  • An Ayleid Iron Gate (G) blocks access to the western exit door (D). This gate can only be opened from the other (west) side. The gate will automatically open when you approach it from the west.

Zone 2: Wenyandawik Edesel[edit]

Wenyandawik Edesel

If you entered this zone through the southern door (E), you can only explore the southern half as access to the rest of the zone is blocked by the gate at J, which cannot be opened from the south. You will be forced to exit back into the first zone through the western door (D).

If you instead enter through the northern door (C), you will have full access to all valuables. Head immediately east after entering and you will reach the room hosting two Varla stones (V) and a minor loot chest, guarded by two enemies. The press blocks to raise the Varla cages are tucked into the walls in the southwestern and southeastern corners. Make your way west now, making sure you don't miss the two minor loot chests along the way and being careful once you pass the hidden wall at I, which opens to reveal two enemies guarding another minor loot chest. Once you reach the end of the corridor, the hidden doors at F and G will open and two more enemies will emerge, while the gate at H will close behind you.

At this point, you have an important choice to make. If you want to be able to easily access this section of the zone again, head through the Swinging Blade traps at T and open the gate at J via the nearby press block. An enemy and a minor loot chest are nearby. If you now backtrack (or simply ignore the trap) you can head through the opening left by the hidden doors at F and G. This provides access to another minor loot chest as well as the room hosting the ruin's Ayleid Statue (S), which is guarded by a boss-level Undead (A). Also in the room are a boss chest (B) and eight Welkynd stones. If you follow the southern corridor you will reach a minor loot chest and find yourself on a small bridge from which you can jump down in front of door D. If you haven't previously opened the gate at J, make sure that you have grabbed the Ayleid Statue before jumping down: with the gate at H now raised, you won't be able to re-enter this room if the gate at J is also raised.

The rest of the zone consists of two rooms, each containing two enemies and with one and two minor loot chests respectively.

Occupants:

  • 1 boss-level Undead at location A on map
  • 11 Undead Enemies (each 83% probability Undead, 17% Rat)

Doors and Gates:

  • There are three doors (at C, D, and E) in/out of this zone, all leading to the zone Wenyandawik
  • F and G are two hidden doors which automatically open when you approach them, releasing two undead.
  • H is an Ayleid Iron Gate that is initially open, and only closes once you walk through it. Warning: once this gate closes it can never be reopened.
  • I is a hidden door, hiding a side alcove with an Ayleid Cask and two undead. The door automatically opens when you enter the alcove to the north of it.
  • J is an Ayleid Iron Gate that can only be opened from the north (i.e., by walking through the swinging blade traps at T), using the activation block (cyan dot). If you want to be able to return to the boss treasure room you must open this gate.
  • K and L are two Ayleid Iron Gates that can easily be opened using activation blocks (cyan dots) located on either side of each gate.
