The Battle of Rourken-Shalidor was a climactic battle in a war that took place sometime before the Disappearance of the Dwarves,[1] in the First Era,[2] in which Archmage Shalidor single-handedly fought against the Dwemer legions of clan Rourken.[3] During the war, King Rourken had the Spellbreaker artifact forged to be used against Shalidor.[4][1] The high honor guard of Rourken also may have used gauntlets imbued with tonal magics derived from Spellbreaker during this conflict.[5]

Following the final battle, Spellbreaker was lost for some time.[4][1] Shalidor vaguely mentioned bearing his spellmirror into a battle.[6] A staff enchanted by Shalidor himself after his legendary First Era battle against the Rourken clan of Dwemer was named the Spellbreaker's Staff.[2]
