Notes[edit]

Sheogorath has some complicated dialogue paths, and a lot of them. It seems that there is also some abandoned dialogue, or I am somehow wrong and misread something. If so please point it out.

During the original conversation between the player and the Mad God there was originally this extra line, I can't check in-game to confirm it is unused but if someone else can confirm it is used, or if it isn't please tell me. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 01:31, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

"None Taken"

"Good. Now, on to your responsibilities. Since you've left us vulnerable to attack, you must restore our second line of defense... Xedilian."

Moved section[edit]

I don't feel like straight up removing this section for some reason, so here are the "Quotes of Madness" --AKB Talk Cont Mail 01:54, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

  • "I'm so happy, I could tear out your intestines and strangle you with them!"
  • "Ta! Come visit again! Or I'll pluck out your eyes."
  • "What is important is getting to Xedilian. Quickly. Before I get bored. You wouldn't like me when I'm bored."
  • "Take this trinket of mine. Perhaps it will serve you well. Or look lovely on your corpse."
  • "I hate indecision! Or maybe I don't. Make up your mind, or I'll have your skin made into a hat -- one of those arrowcatchers. I love those hats!"
  • "Now? You'll need the respect of My citizens. They'll need a leader, someone to look up to when I'm gone. They're the backbone of any great land. Except where the backbone is an actual backbone. Ever been to Malacath's realm...? Nasty stuff. But, back to the business at hand."
  • "They're getting more active every day. Not a good sign. You know what would be a good sign? 'Free Sweetrolls!' Who wouldn't like that?"
  • "Why not? Something has to work. Once, I dug a pit and filled it with clouds. Or was it clowns? Doesn't matter. It didn't slow him down. To be honest, it wasn't the best idea. And it really began to smell. Must have been clowns. Clouds don't smell bad. They taste of butter! And tears."
  • "So, which is it? What will it be? Mania? Dementia? The suspense is killing me. Or you, if I have to keep waiting."
  • "You've probably figured that out by now. Let's hope so. Or we're in real trouble... and out come the intestines. And I skip rope with them!"
  • "Cat's out of the bag on that one, isn't it? Who puts cats in bags, anyway? Cats hate bags."
  • "Wonderful! Time for a celebration... Cheese for everyone! Wait, Scratch that. Cheese for no one. That can be just as much of a celebration, if you don't like cheese. True? You've run a maze like a good little rat, but no cheese for you yet. Well, maybe a little."
  • "Well, well. So you've experienced both shades of madness. Wonderful. You seemed fulfilled. Full of fill. Bursting at the seams. Seamless."
  • "Another Daedric Prince. Not a nice one. I don't think ANY of the other Princes like him, actually. I mean, Malacath is more popular at parties. And Malacath is NOT popular at parties."
  • "A little busy here! I'm trying to decide what to have for dinner. Oh, how I love eating. One of my favorite things to do. Talk to Haskill if you need more information. He's got more brains than a brain pie. Oh... Brain pie! Perfect! Care to donate?"
  • [When asked about Jyggalag] "The Daedric Prince of Order! Or biscuits... No. Order. And not in the good way. Bleak. Colorless. Dead. Boring, boring, boring."
  • "Ah... New Sheoth. My home away from places that aren't my home. The current location is much better than some of the prior ones. Don't you think?"
  • Shivering Isles also introduces new dialogue for Sheogorath during the Sheogorath Daedric quest, all of which is documented at the quest page.

"Savant" Link[edit]

The class in the table is correct, but it links to a userpage with the same name. Is this intentional? - Neural Tempest 03:12, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes, it will link to the proper place when I move it back. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 03:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

A little help from my frien anyone really...[edit]

Looking over the conversation between the surviving duke and Sheogorath you will notice a little problem for the one with Syl, mainly that the conversation seems to go on for longer than it should, I can't find a solution to this looking over it, and I can't find what went wrong when I transcribed it from the CS. So if anyone who knows what I messed up can fix it, I'd appreciate it. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 05:21, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't see how it's longer, the only real difference between the two transcripts is the wording and line spacing, the latter being from your transcription. The two conversation paths are equal in number of lines, except near the end, in the "Syl" text, Sheogorath exclaims "Fool? Visionary!...", and this seems to be the only line that doesn't flow, seeing as nobody called him a fool. But, I'm pretty sure that text is accurate. If you want to reorganize the text, try color-coding or numbering the lines. If you add hidden columns, numbers should be easy.
I did review the scripts you have here, and that "fool" bit is what's messing the whole thing up. Just look at the last 6 lines on each, and you'll see what I mean. If you can check in-game at that point, or simply check the audio, it will show what you've posted, so I think it's ok.- Neural Tempest 07:21, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Suggestions?[edit]

It still isn't ready to move back yet, but if anyone has any suggestions for what else needs to be done on this page please say so I can take it into consideration. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:23, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

It looks very good already. The "Retaking the Fringe" section is a little unclear, though. It might be worth using different background colours in the table for alternating lines of dialogue, and spreading common responses over both columns using the colspan attribute. Good stuff though. rpeh •TCE 20:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Let's hypothetically assume that I don't know how to do any of that as I nearly never work with tables. How would I go about implementing these suggestions? --AKB Talk Cont Mail 18:51, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
For background, add style="background:#123456; color:#789ABC" (with any 6 digit hex number to represent the colors of the background or font color). "background:" sets background, and "color:" sets font color. "#", followed by 6 digits denotes a specific colour. Leaving out a parameter will select the table default. Hex numbers are simple enough, with the first 2 digits representing red, the second 2 representing green, and the final 2 representing blue. Hexadecimal is simply a 16 digit number system with A, B, C, D, E, and F representing 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 respectively. This gives a selection of 166 color possibilities. Pure red is #FF0000, green is #00FF00, and blue is #0000FF. Any colour in between can be created with different combos, like #00FFC0. The style change can be implemented to the whole table, seperate rows, or individual cells, similar to any format change. Quick demo table:

If you go to edit this section, you should see the formatting, no problem. I hope it helps a bit. - Neural Tempest 04:22, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

I went ahead and made some changes to that section rpeh mentioned. I am not too sure I like the idea of having colored backgrounds, but I can't really think of a good way to differentiate between the lines, besides just putting their name next to their line. Elliot (talk) 04:33, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
