Inheritance Letter[edit]

I don't know if this is a radiant quest, or part of the 'Rise in the East' quest, but shortly after I stole Suvaris Atheron's Logbook, I was approached by a courier who gave me a letter saying basically "Suvaris is dead and she left you 100 gold in inheritance. We, the city of Windhelm, are taking 10 gold in tax. kthxbai". I don't think I've ever met the woman before... Is this meant to happen? — Unsigned comment by 78.105.247.158 (talk) at 18:04 on 15 December 2011

Essentially, when certain people die, you get a letter of inheritance and 100 gold. No matter how they die, you get a letter from a courier, but I believe you need to have seen them first. By the way, as soon as you enter Windhelm, you see her getting harassed by some people. 174.91.190.155 17:23, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Suvaris Atheron following and threat?[edit]

I was leaving Windhelm and upon hearing a nasty comment from Faryl Atheron, I punched him. Guards arrested me, but I paid half of my bounty through Thieves' Guild membership perks. I was headed towards the Tower of Mzark landmark on the map and I did so without fast travel. I slept in one of the cots in the camp outside once I arrived.

When I woke up, Suvaris Atheron is standing there with a weapon out, wanting to hear an apology from me for assaulting her family. Has anyone else gotten this? I finished the East Empire quests in Windhelm long before this happened. Amazing to think the woman followed me all the way from Windhelm...it's definitely interesting as she did not send out thugs or the DB, but confronted me personally. Anyone want to confirm? This was on PC.

I tried this out and she also confronted me.I was in Windhelm and when i was messing things up in the night and she told me to apologize to her.I punched Aval Atheron to try this out and it worked.I guess she confronts you because they are close and she does not like anyone beating her brothers. — Unsigned comment by 116.89.120.10 (talk) at 10:52 on 10 May 2012

Weird[edit]

When i found Suvaris Atheron's journal, when i read it for a while i saw a sentence saying PRIVATE PROPERTY OF SUVARIS ATHERON PLEASE RETURN TO HIM IF FOUND.Is this a spelling error or something else?lol.— Unsigned comment by 116.89.120.10 (talk) at 10:23 on 10 May 2012

Considering such errors were quite frequent in Oblivion, I think the devs changed her sex during development of the game and forgot to update the journal accordingly. It's already mentioned on the quest page, but it's better suited here. Wolok gro-Barok 12:06, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Solitude?[edit]

Seen in Solitude after visiting her in Windhelm and fast traveling to the Blue Palace. (360) — Unsigned comment by 71.184.234.169 (talk) at 00:02 on 7 July 2012

She may have been subject to the common bug more often found when an NPC who is talking follows you into a building. The Silencer speaksTalk 23:11, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Different Dialogue depending on if you are Dunmer or non-Dunmer[edit]

Upon first visit to Windhelm, I have gotten used to Suvaris being insulted and bullied by once-honoured and jerk-face Rolff then questioning me whether or not I hated Dark Elves. I always reply "no I don't hate Dark Elves" to which she becomes friendly to me and seems sympathetic to the argonians too on top of frustrated with her race being bullied in Windhelm. However this time I am playing as a Dark Elf and there are differences. There is no chance to be friendly with her as you are already a dark elf, and one of her comments that you can only hear as a dark elf is that the argonians are lazy and she acts as if she is a slave driver.--67.185.108.121 08:29, 28 January 2013 (GMT)

Hmm, the dialogue you're referring to doesn't seem to have any conditions for player race, unless I'm missing something. Did you hear this line in the same scene, and in the same location as the usual non-Dunmer dialogue? — ABCface 16:41, 28 January 2013 (GMT)

Not fixed by USKP[edit]

The list of bugs incorrectly states Suvaris' journal's reference to her as male as being fixed by the USKP where no such fix is indicated on their log page. Not to mention it still says "HIM" on my save game. Can anyone confirm that it is fixed and my game is just glitched? Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 21:07, 23 January 2014 (GMT)

Arthmoor added the fix, and he would have a good idea of its accuracy given his part in the USKP project. That being said, I can't see it in the log, so you'd need to contact the USKP people. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 21:22, 23 January 2014 (GMT)
Verified that is indeed fixed in USKP. A fair few version history entries are missing for v1.0, Kivan was less careful.
