Dragonstar is a small city located in the Druadach Highlands region, straddling the Skyrim-Hammerfell border. The city has been divided since the conclusion of the War of Bend'r Mahk some thirty years ago. Dragonstar East belongs to the Kingdom of the Reach and makes up its westernmost holdings. Dragonstar West, meanwhile, remains under the control of the Redguard Republic of Dragonstar, and makes up last remnant of Hammerfell's territoy within the Reach.

Following the resolution of the Imperial Simulacrum, Imperial forces hastily erected a wall between the city's occupied areas to stop the fighting. It's from the Census and Excise office and Imperial Legion Quarters located here that the empire maintains the peace between the eastern and western factions of the city, primarily through heavy trade and travel restrictions. Despite this, politically-driven violence remains a common occurrence on both sides of the wall. On the eastern side of the wall, Jarl Jona and her Fire-Hand Clan still maintain a desire to conquer Dragonstar West and claim the entirety of the Reach for Skyrim. Meanwhile, on the western side of the wall, the Sogat Dur-Gada and their sympathizers seek to see all foreign invaders driven from what they view as rightful Redguard territory.

Dragonstar East[edit]

Jarl Jona, know as "the Ansei-Ender" for her conquests within the Reach, rules her holdings from Castle Dragonstar in the eastern city. Dragonstar East is also home to the city's arena and the local Guild of Fighters guildhall, though the latter has been defunct since the war. Only one establishment, the Shadowkey Tavern, offers rooms in the east, but travelers seeking only gossip and refreshments might seek out Ildgar's Alehouse as well. Much of Dragonstar East was heavily damaged during the war, and some areas have not been reconstructed.

Dragonstar West[edit]

The western half of the city is ruled by Prince Alak'tol, the sole surviving member of his family ever since they were executed by the Kingdom of the Reach's following its conquest of Karthwasten. This side of the city suffered less damage during the war and thus has more options for travelers seeking accommodations; both the Dragon Fountain Inn and Nukra-Tikil Tavern offer beds for rent. Dragonstar West is also home to the city's Grand Bazaar, where a great variety of traders can be found, as well as the local Mages Guild guildhall, which offers the guild's typical services.

People[edit]

As already mentioned, Jarl Jona rules Dragonstar East from Castle Dragonstar while Dragonstar West is ruled by Prince Alak'tol from the the Crown Palace.

In the city's eastern half you'll find: Anbod, local leader of the Skyrim Thieves Guild, and Brokk, the tavern's proprietor, in the Shadowkey Tavern; Rekir, pit boss of the Dragonstar Arena in the arena's main hall; Ildgar Fire-Tongue in his alehouse; and Helle, priestess of Mara, at the House of Mara.

In the western part of the city you can find: Eranthos, local leader of the Mages Guild, in the Guild of Mages.

Getting There and Around[edit]

In Dragonstar East at the northeastern city gate you'll find Arvund can take you to Karthwasten on his carriages. Depending on how Turbulent Teleporting is completed, Marcurio Ampis may move to the Guild of Mages in Dragonstar West and begin offering guild guides services to Karthwasten.

Places of Interest Around Dragonstar[edit]

Leaving through the city's southeast gates you can find Imperial Legion fort Taurus Hall. If you leave through the city's northeast gate and take a turn northeast as the road turns south, you'll find an Alovach trading camp a short distance from the city.

The Reachman settlements of Merduibh, Bailcnoss, and Mairager can all be found in close proximity to the city; Merduibh and Bailcnoss, both inhabited by the Taliesinn tribe, can be found west of the city atop the Darvacraig Mesa while Mairager, inhabited by the Alovach tribe, can be found north of the city in a canyon east of the Coimeaden Mesa. The Orc camp of Nargozh can also be found nearby, west of Mairager atop the Coimeaden Mesa.
