Use an untested weapon against the Covenant.
Zone: Bal Foyen
Quest Giver: Iron-Claws near Fort Zeren
Location(s): Dhalmora
Reward: Very Low Leveled Gold
XP Gain: Very Low Experience
Iron-Claws' idea seems to be working
Iron-Claws thinks he's found a way to use the otherwise docile netch against the Daggerfall Covenant.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Talk to Iron-Claws outside Fort Zeren.
  2. Test the unorthodox weapon on the Dhalmora fields.
  3. Return to Iron-Claws and discuss the test results.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Speak to Iron-Claws outside the northeastern gate of Fort Zeren. He will ask you to listen to his idea to use the protective instincts of netch bulls to defend Bal Foyen against the Covenant invasion. He asks that you throw sterile netch eggs, coated with bull-enraging netch secretions, at the Covenant soldiers and gives you five of them to see if they make the bull netches attack the soldiers.

You'll find the Covenant troops scattered across the fields beneath Iron-Claws' ledge. When you move close enough to a Covenant soldier, the prompt to throw an egg at them appears. When you do, a bull netch will appear out of nowhere and kill the soldier. Repeat this five times, then return to Dhalmora to find Iron-Claws standing on a ledge at the southwestern gate. He is happy about the success of the test, and rewards you with some gold.

Quest Stages[edit]

Unorthodox Tactics
Finishes Quest Journal Entry
I've told Iron-Claws I would test his theory. I'm supposed to throw treated netch eggs at the Covenant to see if netch bulls will attack the soldiers.
Objective: Throw Treated Netch Eggs at the Covenant: 0/5
Finishes quest☑ It seems the treated netch eggs were a huge success. I should return to Iron-Claws and let him know.
Objective: Talk to Iron-Claws
Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
