Ra'back the Trap Master

Ra'back the Trap Master is a Khajiit who serves as the group boss event of Zenithar's Abbey. She is holed up in the Black Market, accessible via a double-door at the bottom of a ramp southwest of the Adytum entrance, at the bottom left corner of the market.

True to her name, she has set up a number of traps and a decoy in anticipation of an intruder. Ra'back will not appear nor will her traps activate until the decoy has been attacked.

Skills and Abilities

Once the fight begins, many traps around the room will be activated. They cannot affect her. The traps can be disabled by pulling glowing levers located on the outer edges of the arena. The traps consist of flame spouts on the outer edges, spikes in the center of the arena, and flaming swirls that travel along the ground of the arena. Of the three, the last is the most dangerous and should be disabled urgently.

Once you have slain all the creatures she summons, you will be able to attack her for a short while before she disappears again and starts the process again. During the phases where she is hidden, she will continue attacking with other arrows and poison bottles.

Quick Shot

A basic ranged attack that deals moderate physical damage.

Arrow Stab

A basic melee attack that deals low physical damage where the enemy grabs their arrow and stabs it into the target rather than firing it.

Poisoned Arrow

A ranged attack that deals moderate physical damage and applies poison damage over time to the target.

Arrow Spray

Ra'back shoots a spray of poison arrows in the direction she is facing, indicated by a red cone. This attack does moderate poison damage as well as snares all enemies hit. This attack can be interrupted.

Trap Beast

Ra'back places a trap which deals high magic damage and roots her target in place if they walk into it. Performing a roll dodge will break the trap.

Roll Dodge

Ra'back can roll dodge to avoid attacks.

Shadow Cloak

If the target is in close proximity to Ra'back, she can turn herself invisible and move to a better location and set the target off balance.

Summon

Ra'back performs a spell that summons a group that can consist of Bone Flayers, Bone Colossi, Skeevers, Skeletal Bears, Skeletal Wolves, Skeleton Shadow Mages, and Skeleton Spirit Masters to assit her.

Volley

During hidden phases, Ra'back will shoot volleys of arrows down into the arena, indicated by very large red circles, dealing continuous high physical damage.

Poison Grenade

During hidden phases, Ra'back will lob several poison grenades into the arena, indicated by large growing red circles, which explode, dealing instant moderate poison damage, followed by continuous poison damage.

Dialogue

Once you attack her decoy:

Ra'back the Trap Master: "You thought I wasn't prepared? Didn't you? Didn't you?"

When she sets up her traps and disappears:

Ra'back the Trap Master: "You can't evade my traps forever."

Ra'back the Trap Master: "Now I've got you!"

When she returns to the arena after you disarm her trap:

Ra'back the Trap Master: "Thought you had me, didn't you?"

Ra'back the Trap Master: "You're a clever one, aren't you?"

Ra'back the Trap Master: "I guess I'll do this myself."

Defeating her:

Ra'back the Trap Master: "But … I had the upper hand …."
