Tandare

A research team from Elden Root has rediscovered the ancient city of Root Sunder. Unfortunately they've also been mauled by wild animals. Tandare, the last survivor of the research team, needs the journals of her dead comrades.

Quick Walkthrough

1. Speak to Tandare outside of Root Sunder Ruins.
2. Find three research journals inside the ruins.
3. Return to Tandare.

Detailed Walkthrough

Approaching Root Sunder Ruins, you'll find a researcher fretting and drinking. Speaking with her, she'll tell you she needs help.

"I was part of a research expedition sent to investigate the ruins of Root Sunder, an Altmer city swallowed by the jungle centuries ago.
I took a short leave to retrieve supplies, and when I got back, the ruins were swarming with wild animals."

You want me to rescue the researchers?

"What? No! They're dead. What I need is their journals.
Each researcher kept notes on their finds. If I can get the journals to Elden Root, the expedition isn't a complete waste. But I won't risk going in there. Would be safer running off a cliff."

Inside the ruin, there are a large number of enemies to keep you on your toes. If you wish to reduce that number, you can complete a concurrent quest that will result in taming everything except the bosses. There are three journals you need to find. the first is in the main chamber just ahead. The second is in a smaller chamber to the west, and the third is in a chamber to the east.

After you collected the journals, return to Tandare to complete the quest.

"Oh! You're back. So you weren't eaten by lions, then. Good!
Did you have any luck with the journals?"

I've recovered three journals.

"Oh, excellent! Let me see. Oh my, look at this gibberish. Driven insane by ancient ruins? This is a gold mine! The pseudo-intellectuals of Elden Root love this stuff.
The commentary volumes alone will keep me employed for years to come."
