I found a member of the Remnant named Zirokh standing outside the Apogee of the Tormenting Eye. He's worried about Dremnaken invading the Apogee and devouring its knowledge. I agreed to rescue some artifacts and purge the Dremnaken.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Enter the Apogee of the Tormenting Eye and do the following:
    • Close the Dremnaken portals.
    • Find and recover the three relics.
    • Locate and activate the shrine's wards.
  2. Leave the Apogee and speak with Zirokh.

Just outside the entrance to the Apogee of the Tormenting Eye stands a Dremora[verification needed — horns different from other Dremora] named Zirokh channeling some kind of spell. As you approach, he calls you over to ask for your help. He is a member of the Remnants, a group of Daedra dedicated to protecting Hermaeus Mora's knowledge, as well as safeguarding relics from his realm. Zirokh explains that the Apogee's wards have been breached by Dremnaken seeking knowledge, putting his order's work —and the many relics they have— at risk. He promises a reward for recovering the relics, closing the portals the Dremnaken used to get in, and re-activating the wards. Once you agree, he will give you a rune that will guide you to the most powerful relics and close the Dremnaken portals. Speaking with him further before going in informs you that the Apogee is a vault for "items of arcane interest", including one of Hermaeus Mora's Black Books.

Entering the Apogee, you'll find a Breach Portal right inside the entrance, and after fighting a handful of Dremnaken that pour out the portal can be closed. Heading up the cliff to the north

Zirokh handed me a rune that hums with energy. He said I can use it to close the Dremnaken portals and reactivate the shrine's protective wards. I should ascend the Apogee to begin my work.

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
