Grasp-Kyn Oloshaz is a Dremora of The Grasp who can be found at the Fargrave Crafting Plaza and in the northwestern side of Fargrave.
Dialogue[edit]
When she is first encountered, she can found mediating between Pynufax and Kaluzan. In the middle of them is the swaying undead corpse of Theyo Laumont. Talking with Grasp-Kyn Oloshaz, you can assist her in making a decision:
- "Step aside, mortal. Unless you wish to challenge the authority of the Grasp."
- How does the Grasp settle a dispute like this?
- "Dremora cannot shirk their debts. Unlike fragile mortals, the word of a Daedra binds for eternity. Nothing is more valuable or more viciously contested than an unpaid debt.
Kaluzan's accusation is a grave matter." - How will you resolve the argument?
- "I will determine the value of the payment based on the arcane intents of the Stricture.
The modest value of living mortals and dead mortals is clear. A dead mortal in this condition, however, is more difficult to appraise." - So, how do you plan to assess its value?
- "I will base my judgment on the flesh's utility. What tasks it can perform, what price its various organs might fetch in the marketplace, and so on.
It appears to be capable of movement." - I guess so.
- "It possesses all its limbs. It appears to follow simple commands. Its smell is comparable to that of a living mortal.
Then again, you mortals do place great value on your impoverished sense of self. Flesh deprived of this may be less valuable."
- "It possesses all its limbs. It appears to follow simple commands. Its smell is comparable to that of a living mortal.
- It can barely stand.
- "True. But its smell is only slightly more repellant than that of a living mortal. And it will not require disgusting mortal necessities, like food and warm clothing.
Surely this is an improvement." - A corpse is not worthy compensation.

- Well, it might have some value.

After making a choice:
- "The Stricture provides the means to resolve all conflicts. I shall interpret its intent."
You will encounter her again when Kaluzan calls for punishment after the mortal Elronor killed his zombie servant in self-defense.
- "Do not interfere here. Mortals should not meddle in affairs of the Stricture."
- How does the Grasp interpret this crime?
- "Mortals killing other mortals is of little concern to the Grasp. But a Dremora's property was damaged. This demands retribution."
- What are the options for punishment?
- "Correction for mortals is a delicate business given your fragility. So, the punishment must be something moderate. Slowly pulling the teeth from his skull one by one, for instance."
- Are there no other options?
- "The Stricture demands compensation for the offended party. The punishment must fit the crime."
- But it was a zombie. It could barely do anything.
- "Cursed undead. The Stricture's demands on mortals past the point of expiration are not clearly delineated.
Nevertheless, Kaluzan's property remains destroyed. He had a servant. Now he does not." - What if the mortal replaced the Dremora's servant?
- <Exits dialogue>
- I understand. The Elf should be punished.

- "Cursed undead. The Stricture's demands on mortals past the point of expiration are not clearly delineated.
- I guess that's fair. The Elf should be punished to the fullest extent.

After a decision is made:
- "None dare speak against the rulings of the Stricture. Its power in Fargrave is absolute."
The third time you encountered Grasp-Kyn Oloshaz, she and Pynufax will be looking down at Kaluzan's body. It turns out Elronor took exception to forcibly being made a servant:
- Pynufax: "A tiny mortal stabbed him in the back with a long-knife and scampered off. Said something about keeping his teeth."
- Grasp-kyn Oloshaz: "Did you see which way the mortal went?"
- Pynufax: "I'm afraid he vanished in the crowd. Such a pity."
Speak with Grasp-Kyn Oloshaz to learn about the judgement in regards the Stricture.
- "You again. Few mortals take such keen interest in the Stricture."
- How does the Grasp interpret this crime?
- "Mortals can act outside the bounds of the Stricture, so this situation poses unique difficulties.
For instance, it is impossible for a Daedra to slay the husk of another Daedra in Fargrave. So there is little guidance on matters such as these." - So the mortal that did this hasn't committed a crime?
- "Difficult to say. The offended party is gone. Until Kaluzan reconstitutes and issues a summons of complaint, the Stricture makes no demands."
- So, if Kaluzan returns he can call on the Grasp then?
- "Yes. But he will not.
No member of the Kyn would admit to being banished by a mortal—particularly a tiny one. Pynufax will spread word of Kaluzan's foolishness and frailty. Even the Varlets will mock him. Kaluzan's fate is sealed."
Speaking to her again:
- "Remain compliant. The Grasp has wasted enough time on mortal affairs for one day."
Notes[edit]
- If you have a bounty, Oloshaz can accost you despite not being a Justice Neutral guard. If you flee, she will be marked as hostile for a moment before going back to her default friendly, non-attackable, state, and can be spoken to for her normal purpose. If you become Upstanding and commit another crime, she will not accost you again until she despawns and respawns for the next dispute.
Bugs[edit]
- No voiceover dialogue is playing ?
- The three encounters for the achievement are not spaced out and happen immediately after each other. ?
- Often, multiple NPCs will stand in the exact same spot, making it difficult if not impossible to talk to each of them. ?
