Briggan the Lost

Briggan the Lost is a Wood Elf wanderer who sometimes appears near a campfire in the Deadlands. If you ask him for a blessing, you will receive the buff Briggan's Blessing, which grants you a 10% health bonus for 10 minutes.

Dialogue[edit]

When he appears, he'll say one of the following:

Briggan the Lost: "Feel free to join me by my fire. The Deadlands are dark without the light of friendship."
Briggan the Lost: "I'm not to harp, but are you lost?"

When you approach him at his campfire, he says:

"I'll not ask why you're wandering this cursed place, but I'd urge you to leave. The Deadlands are hospitable to no one.
If your mission keeps you within this realm like mine does, then I'll gladly share what I can - be it my fire or a blessing."
Who are you?
"There isn't a good word to describe me. I'm a stranded soul. A wandering fool.
Who I am, I suppose, is a traveler much like yourself. Trudging ever onward to complete a duty I suspect is impossible."
What duty?
"I made a deal with a Daedra of some great importance. I'm not allowed to say more about the exact nature of the deal. Asking for assistance, he said, would be cheating.
Nevertheless, I must roam the Deadlands until I fulfill my side of the bargain."
Why did you make the deal?
"My compatriots and I were hired to help a man rescue his wife from the Deadlands. She ran into a portal to save her village. With a disposition like that, she could easily have been one of us.
Still, we underestimated the danger of this realm."
So you made the deal when your rescue mission went badly?
"Precisely. I saw my friends fall and I lost confidence. I became daunted.
Still, my tragedy does not concern you. All are welcome and safe at my fire. I can even give you a blessing to aid you in your journeys, if you wish."
I'd like a blessing.
"I'm not much of a mage, but I picked this up in my journeys. Hopefully it does you more good than it did me.
Safe travels to you, wanderer."

Talking to him after being blessed:

"You have my blessing. There is nothing more I can do to aid you on your journey.
My fire is large enough to share. Stay here and rest in safety for as long as you wish. I do not intend to depart anytime soon."

If you completed City of Ash 2, he will recognize you slaying Valkyn Skoria:

"Do my eyes deceive me or are you the one who slew the Valkyn back in the City of Ash? Yes I know who you are. Dagon was not pleased with your actions. Practically everyone's heard what happened!
Sit by the fire. Let me bless your travels."
How do you know the City of Ash?
"I am—I was—a member of the Undaunted. The last job my group accepted was from a fellow Wood Elf named Fingaenion. He hired us to rescue his wife from the Deadlands."
I don't remember seeing you in the Deadlands when I rescued Fingaenion's wife and the others.
"I…separated from the others in the chaos. Fingaenion's wife Gilraen rescued me before I had the opportunity to do her the same favor.
She's an impressive fighter with an even more impressive dagger."
Did Gilraen tell you what I did?
"You slew Dagon's champion the Valkyn. Gilraen has an…object precious to the Prince of this domain. Among those trapped here and resentful of Dagon, the tale is well told.
The thing Gilraen took, Dagon wants it back."
You're well informed for a lost traveler.
"Gilraen's not the only one who can make life-saving deals. But that shouldn't concern you. You are an ally and friend while at this camp.
So please, feel free to use my fire or let me give you a blessing before you continue your travels."

Notes[edit]

  • The blessing he offers you is called Briggan's Blessing and it may be bugged since it's description is "Gain 10 for 10 minutes".
  • He wears the Mercenary Style. He originally wore the Silver Rose style before it was changed.
