Final Fantasy?[edit]

While browsing around a bit, I found the following character from Final Fantasy VII: Vincent Valentine. He has red eyes, is immortal and locked himself in a coffin for thirty years. I don't know, but it may be a reference.

A bug?[edit]

Does anyone know if there is a bug with Vicente Valtieri where he isn't a Vampire, and actually has a normal appearance? On my friend's account, he was not a vampire anymore, regardless of all the dialog he had.. he even slept like a normal person, with tossing and turning. - 208.63.188.167 19:50, 13 June 2007 (EDT)

  • It is probable that your friend is pulling your leg or something but there is no instance where he is not a vampire he is scripted as such and it would have to be a mod to override the scripting to make him not a vampire. Unless is is a very big very weird bug that switches around character models other than that it is not possible--Most Honored Listener 00:37, 14 June 2007 (EDT).
No, it was not my friend pulling my leg. He was over at my house, on my Xbox 360, on my Oblivion. I saw it with my own eyes. Vincente had blue eyes, didn't have the wrinkles everywhere, and even slept - as I said before - like a normal person. However, after he completed the first of Ocheeva's quests, he was no longer normal - he had the "normal" appearance of Vicente. Of course, he made a joke about it and said that its what he gets (my friend liked Vicente as a non-vamp) for not letting him feed on his character. -208.63.188.167 12:38, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
  • then probably some very weird glitch because I have never heard of that even being possible until now.--Most Honored Listener 17:18, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
  • it's wierd, i was playing, and then Vicente Valtieri walked into the living quarters, found a bed then slept like normal, then when i woke him up, he was non-vampire. 2 days later in the game, he was a vampie again.--blades killer 8:16PM 21 Sep. 2008

* Speaking to him with the Gray Cowl of Noctrnal on reveals that Vincete was once part of the thieves guild.

I've moved this comment to the talk page because I couldn't find anything in the CS that could corroborate this claim. If anyone can offer some solid, empirical proof, then this should be added to the main article again. --Saruuk 01:23, 19 August 2007 (EDT)
Well if you speak to either Vicente, Teinaava or Scar-Tail with the Gray Cowl on they'll say, "As I live and breathe...the Gray Fox. It's an honor."
That's just a standard line for (I think) people with a low Responsibility score. It's not specific to Vincete. --RpehTalk 06:10, 4 September 2007 (EDT)
Yep, it's a greeting that can be used by anyone with a responsibility less than 50. --NepheleTalk 13:47, 4 September 2007 (EDT)
Does anyone know if sleeping for the DB intro with the Cowl on affects Lucien's dialogue? --Debatra 03:35, 21 June 2008 (EDT)

Garlic effect[edit]

Does the garlic effect stack? So if Vicente has 4 units of garlic, does he suffer from four times the effect? Icko 13:59, 7 December 2008 (EST)

No. The effect is added when garlic is placed on him and removed when the garlic is removed. The script just checks that at least one garlic is present - not how many. –RpehTCE 01:16, 8 December 2008 (EST)

Since his Strength is damaged by 100pts, does this encumber him and make him immobile? -24.118.124.166 21:02, 10 February 2009 (EST)

Does the garlic in his inventory, after I've placed it there, reset? Like, can I put it there the very first time I meet him, and then count on it still being there when I have to fight him during The Purification? Predcon 04:17, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Easier to pickpocket?[edit]

Does giving him garlic make him any easier to pickpocket from? I saved the game right before pickpocketing him and tried to steal an excellent magical sword probably fifty times, but he caught me every time.— Unsigned comment by 71.107.155.241 (talk) on 19 june 2009

Probably not, since garlic does not affect his agilty or his sneak skill. Wolok gro-Barok 08:53, 19 June 2009 (EDT)

Delayed or immediate vampirism?[edit]

Does Valtieri's vampirism "gift" give you Polyphoric Hemophilia, or does it directly give you Vampirism? Shashakiro 00:43, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

It gives you Porphyric Hemophilia. You can get the full details here. –rpehTCE 07:38, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

His Reaction?[edit]

ive heard you can be a vampire even without Vicente's help... if so,what will be his dialog when he sees ur character (already a vampire)for the first time?

Weird Behaviour[edit]

To answer S'drassa question of a weird behaviour between 4pm and midnight, this is what I found. The package is DarkVicenteCatChat and is set as a wander package. It doesn't have a target data but it does have a location data; which happens to be M'raaj-Dar in the Cheydinhal Sanctuary with a radius of 600. The problem I see is that since M'raaj spends this time in another cell (Training Rooms) Vincente's AI goes berserk: he should just decide to wander around that 600 feet radius since M'raaj is nowhere to be seen. Of course this is just my explanation, which does however coincide with what S'drassa found while following him in-game :) --SerCenKing Talk 17:40, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Knows about the player?[edit]

Although its unlikely but when you go to kill Valen, it sounds like Vicente is implying that he knew you escaped the Imperial prison. Its probably just me but does anyone else agree? --Sencilia 13:34, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, it appear as if he does know. After all, why wouldn't he? The Dark Brotherhood surely has its ways of finding information. :P --SerCenKing Talk 13:05, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Worth noting?[edit]

Much of Vincent's attire would appear to be weightless, and can thus be used for reverse-pickpocketing. This includes his shirt and pants. Is that worth mentioning on the article? — Unsigned comment by 115.64.216.236 (talk) on 1 June 2010

"His attire consists of a few rare pieces of clothing: a dark shirt and a pair of black wide pants, both of which are zero weight items" It already is. --SerCenKing Talk 10:13, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Enemy[edit]

I pickpocketed the vampire and got kicked out. After doing a quest to get back in it turned Vicente Valtieri in to an enemy now i cant even sleep in my house in the imperial city Help? And if it helps i am in the theives guild and if i need to leave any of them its not a problem. — Unsigned comment by 98.27.254.57 (talk) at 03:39 on February 20, 2011

Moved note.[edit]

  • It may be possible that Vicente was infected by a member of the Quarra Clan, which resides in Druscashti, a dwemer citadel in the Ashlands of Vvardenfell.

I find this nonsense because he could've been infected by anyone. Feel free to express your opinion. JackTurbo95 14:17, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Of course he was infected. How else would he have gotten vampirism? Which clan is not indicated here though. --Brf 14:25, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
I never said that he wasn't infected , on the contrary I am saying that how do you know if it was the Quarra Clan. I moved it here for the fact that no one knows which clan infected him or , which vampire. JackTurbo95 14:31, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
The Note was probably written due to this bit of dialogue from Vicente "I was stricken with vampirism over 300 years ago, while on an expedition deep into the Ashlands of Vvardenfell." - regardless, I think it sounds like guesswork. --Krusty 14:42, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
That's why I moved it to here. It doesn't look like it should be on the main page. JackTurbo95 14:50, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
I agree with JackTurbo95. Its realy not necessary to write about it in the article. --Archain 14:54, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

if Vicente was infected in Vvardenfell, shouldn't you get the characteristics of one of the clans from morrowind, I think this is a major plothole. Andil the mage 16:07, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Well, technically, it is not for certain whether he shares a bloodline with those clans. Just because he was infected in Vvardenfell doesn't mean it was by a Vvardenfell clan vampire. Maybe he was actually infected by a Cyrodiilic Vampire that happened to be in Vvardenfell. There isn't enough information for it to be a plot hole. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 17:16, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

That seems plausible Andil the mage 17:46, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Vicente once an Imperial?[edit]

"Leftover voice files seem to indicate that he was slated to be an Imperial, but was changed into a Breton during development. A side-by-side comparison of Vicente's current voice and his beta voice can be seen in This video"

The above statement seems to be inaccurate, as the maker of the YouTube video that is linked to states that they used mods from TES Nexus to change Vicente's voice and appearance, and makes no mention of left over voice files. 82.145.210.0 01:35, 2 March 2012 (UTC) Sheogorath 01:34, 2 March 2012 (GMT)

It's true,Vicente had once the voice of a imperial,i've extracted the voice files from oblivion.esm and in the "imperial" folder ,there are the same exact lines of Vicente, you can try it yourself by using the package extractor and it's not modded
even Gaston Tussaud (The Breton Pirate in "A Watery Grave") has the voice files in the "imperial" folder that has the same lines of the current breton lines, example file is dark02watery_dark02choice1a_00023f36_1 (Justice?ahahah i've been avoidin' that all my life mate, let me show you how) 82.60.104.248 11:53, 13 February 2015 (GMT)
