Menien Outside Oblivion World

I've seen Menien Goled in Bruma, just outside the Great Hall. (1.1 patch plus unofficial patches). He's still not well clothed and fears everybody, though, and has nothing to say - but he's alive and there. -- foo — Unsigned comment by 84.63.100.12 (talk) at 13:52 on 26 January 2007

I'm guessing this a side effect of an unofficial mod; I can't see anything in the standard .esm file that would cause Menien to reappear anywhere else. --Nephele 01:13, 2 February 2007 (EST)

I assume the same is true for the identical (but for its location) glitch that someone added to the page today. I've cleaned it up a bit, but left it there - if nobody can confirm it, it should probably be removed. --JustTheBast 06:23, 22 February 2007 (EST)

I had assumed that he, just like the player and the ocasional follower, would spawn right next to me after I closed the gate since he doesn't belong in the planes of oblivion, like the player and the occasional follower, but I was surprised not to see him to thank me or whatever. Also, but my mind may be playing tricks on me, I thought I saw him falling in another game. Just falling through the bottom of the cage. Killing Menien

He is essential, so that would be immpossible without the console. If you turn off his essential status, then yes, I don't see why not.--Xyntfos 22:51, 29 May 2008 (EDT)

What the Hell????

The same thing happened to me, except that his scripted dialogue was unavailable. Instead, he would only talk about the Prophet. (For some reason, he was also with the NPC Maenlorn, who has nothing to do with Menien nor anything to do with Leyawiin, which is where I had to pay my fine. 71.236.39.188 02:20, 15 May 2009 (EDT)

I, too, found this guy cowering outside the Imperial Prison District, after "just serving my time" of 72/78 bounty. He sat there cowering at anything and everything, however he did make a comment regarding me being the hero of Kvatch. I tried talking to him, and there were no dialogue options. In Leyawiin

After killing Adamus Philida with the Rose of Sithis, I paid the fine and appeared where you usually do in Leyawiin. I saw Menien right beside me, he has no dialogue. 76.171.21.162 21:46, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Menien in Hawkhaveen

I just shut the Kvatch Gate and used console commands to get to hawkhaven and I saw Menien Cowering by the door to the testing hall. any idea how this could of Happened? — Unsigned comment by Mylesjackson (talk • contribs)

There are multiple glitches associated with console commands. I'd say not to worry about it and if you need Menien to finish the quest, then simply reload an earlier save or use the console to set the quest at a stage after that section. Vesna 04:22, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

after closing the gate

If I get him out and take him to he kvatch ,after closing the gate ,what will he do. I can't try it myself, because my level is 97 an i am playing xbox (Vvardfell 03:40, 24 October 2010 (UTC))
