Grey-throat[edit]

isn't there a grey-throat in morrowind too, could they by any chance be the same person? -Goblin lair 9:28, 5 August 2008

That is correct, a slave in the Ascadian Isles. It is unlikely they are the same person though because the time era is different. M'aiq the Liar 03:33, 5 August 2008 (EDT)

I see. -Goblin lair 9:56, 5 August 2008 (EDT)
Well, i don't know. Morrowind took place like...what, 12 years before Oblivion? My theory is this. Grey-throat was a Slave in morrowind and was a bit younge. When Slavery was abolished and he was set free, he fled to the Imperial City and lived there for the rest of the years until Oblivion. Note that during the vampire order quest, Seridur says "we are but three 'Old' men" So Grey-Throat could have aged over the time. Get it? - Lucky the Cat Guy 06:35, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
Yes I do... and it sounds like you have got a point in that, but I guess this should be "overlooked" by someone a little more "knoledgable" than me... But you got my support on that teory. -Goblin lair 14:30, 14 August 2008
While there are only a few characters from previous games that appear in Oblivion (e.g. M'aiq the Liar or Staada), it is possible. The names are exactly the same, and enough time has passed for the possibility that Grey-Throat settled a life in luxury in the Imperial City. Morrowind shows that the Twin Lamps were active around the Dren Plantation (ref: Free Hides-His-Foot). I've put a note on the article detailing the facts, readers can draw their own conclusion from it. --Timenn < talk > 09:16, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
Wonderfull ! -Goblin lair 15:21, 14 August 2008
I've removed the implication that they are the same person. There are absolutely no clues anywhere in either game to suggest that. In fact, the Grey-Throat in Morrowind is such a minor character that's it's hardly likely they'd bother trying to make such a reference. I left the link there, but let's not clutter pages with baseless speculation. My guess is it's more likely to be a product of the random name-generator coming up with duplicates again - there's several examples of that. It's not like M'aiq the Liar, where it's clearly obvious he's supposed to be the same person. --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:36, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
Well, come on now. Maybe the makers wanted to see if anyone could spot out the character? - Lucky the Cat Guy. 04:08, 15 August 2008 (EDT)

No, actually Lurlock is right. The latter part was just speculation just started here on the talk page. Although the fact that it is possible for them to be the same character might make it to the article, it is an obvious enough conclusion a reader is free to (or not to) draw from the text. --Timenn < talk > 10:00, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
