I am playing the Ps3 version of the game and have just completed the unofficial quest "The Horror of Dive Rock" and Andre Labouche's corpse is no where to be found. I have searched all around Aerin's Camp and to the north proceeding up the mountain and the corpse does not appear. -Jack 18 November, 2007

It's not to the north, it's south - at the foot of Dive Rock. If you look down you from the rock you can just see it. --RpehTCE 03:18, 18 November 2007 (EST)
Sorry - I misread your original post. The body is north of Aerin's camp at the foot of dive rock. If you head from the camp towards the rock marker then head west around the foot of the mountain you should find it. It is possible for the body to disappear although I've never experienced that myself. --RpehTCE 03:45, 18 November 2007 (EST)

Body disappears[edit]

On the PS3 the body does disappear. I stumbled across the body after visiting Aerin's Camp. Thinking it was part of the un-started Dive Rock quest I read the note but did not loot the body. I proceeded to Dive Rock and found and read Agnar's journal. I did not get a notification nor did I ever find the Uderfrykte Matron. That was after about 1 hour of real time play while using Night Eye. I then decided to go back down to Andre and see if that would do anything. Even though I had carefully placed a marker I could never find him even after searching a wide area around the marker. Zack 24-Mar-2008

About the dissapearing bodies in dive rock[edit]

It seems that even if you find the corpse , it kinda starts the 'countdown' ( 3 days) and then they are removed.

They are not permanent corpses am i right?

Perhaps the reason they dissapear is that the game 'thinks' you have come near the corpses but you didnt..

When i teleport to dive rock to take Agnars journal and dont even look at the corpse , 3 days later BOTH labouche's and agnars corpses are gone

Before waiting those 3 days , i teleport to the corpses using the console to confirm they are there , then i reload ( so the game doesnt count that i ever saw or came near them)

Ive tested this with two different characters .

I think what triggers the 'countdown' is going near dive rock , can someone help me confirm this?.

Name[edit]

Labouche would translate, I believe, as the mouth in French. I am aware that the Bretons are based upon the French although I'm not entirely sure of the relevance of the term to the character. Any ideas? The-manta 16:59, 28 June 2008 (EDT)

That is indeed the translation, but it's not an uncommon name in France. I suspect that like most names, it was probably created by a random name generator of some sort - here's a big list of French surnames, and here's a list of family names, pick one from column A and one from column B, and stick 'em together, repeat as needed. I sincerely doubt that they had somebody just sit there and come up with the hundreds of names (thousands in Morrowind) one by one and make them all significant in some way. --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:14, 28 June 2008 (EDT)

More detailed description?[edit]

Could someone please give me a more detailed description of where he is located? I've been running around for ten minutes searching for him until I finally gave up. Maybe even upload a map showing the location? Thanks in advance! SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 08:49, 18 April 2009 (EDT)

Okay, I've put him on the map - here. –RpehTCE 10:53, 18 April 2009 (EDT)
Thanks a lot! Edit: Tried to find him, but still couldn't even though I was at the exact same spot as the marker on the map. The bug where he disappears has probably occurred. SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 13:26, 18 April 2009 (EDT) / SwedishBerzerker at youtube.com 06:17, 20 April 2009 (EDT)
I found him directly north of Aerin's camp. Stand at the camp, head directly north using your compass, and he is behind the first large boulder at the foot of the mountain. If you look directly above you, the Dive Rock outcrop can be seen. I had been to Aerin's camp some time ago, way more than the 72 hours game time, probably weeks, without seeing him, (hadn't been looking). I think the game sometimes places objects at slightly different places, so for example, if he ended up on top of the boulder, he might have slid downhill.

I can't find him.[edit]

I can't find him. I even used the console to teleport myself to his body and I appear close to Aerin's Camp, but there's no body. I even used the command to move him to me, but there's still no body. I even tried to resurrect him - and it's the same effect. Just because I'm careful, I "killed" him by console command to make sure that something wrong won't happen. Does that mean that he disappeared from my game permamently? I dunno. If some players aren't familiar with console and want to find him... try this, and if it work, please reply to this thread:

  • prid 14 (to mark your character)
  • moveto 000C5728 (to move your character to his body)
    • You will probably teleport to place close to Aerin's Camp and if you have more luck than I have, Andre's body will lie right under your nose. If it won't work, try:
  • prid 000C5728 (to mark Andre)
  • moveto 14 (to move him to your character)

It still didn't work for me. I could mark his body by prid, and console seemed to move his body succesfully to me, but there was no body after all. 95.49.56.52 20:27, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

As the article says, sometimes his body will be missing. This happens because his body isn't marked as a quest item so it disappears three days after you first enter the cell. Incidentally, it's simpler to just use player.moveto c5728 rather than prid. rpeh •TCE 06:45, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
