Starting Spells[edit]

DrPhoton added a second starting spell for this College back in March. I'm in no position to verify it at the moment, but it seems awfully dubious that a character would start with a spell that costs 180 Magicka to cast! The Classes page also does not reflect this in the descriptions of classes that have Mysticism as a Major Skill. Can someone confirm that this is erroneous and remove it? --TheNicestGuy 12:04, 4 January 2008 (EST)

I just kicked off a new Dunmer Mage and only got the Detect Creature spell from the Mysticism school so I've taken it off. Well spotted. —RpehTCE 12:15, 4 January 2008 (EST)
Except that it is tagged in the construction set as a "PC Start Spell". I believe there's been discussion elsewhere about the fact that for Morrowind the starting spells that appear for a character depend upon whether or not that character can cast them, so it's possible that such an expensive spell will never appear for a new character. However, even if that's the case it seems that the spell should belong on the list (given that it is theoretically listed as a starting spell), but that a note of some sort should be added explaining why it never appears. I'll keep digging for that old discussion in the meantime.... --NepheleTalk 12:55, 4 January 2008 (EST)
Of course, the moment I hit save, I find the previous discussion I'd been looking for: Morrowind Talk:Destruction#Exhausting Touch. --NepheleTalk 12:57, 4 January 2008 (EST)

With respect to the classes who possess mysticism as a starting skill, doesn't the Sorcerer class also have Mysticism as a major or minor skill? Or this not meant to be a complete list just examples of ones who do have Mysticism? Fightswithrat 23:09, 24 April 2008 (EDT)

Thanks for spotting that, a Spellsword had taken the Sorcerer's place. --BenouldTC 03:46, 25 April 2008 (EDT)
