Resting in Morrowind can be very useful, as doing so will replenish the player's Health, Fatigue, and Magicka. It is possible for the player to rest at any time. The player can rest anywhere except for inside or near settlements, while in combat, or if hostile creatures or hostile NPC's are nearby. If the player attempts to rest under one of these circumstances, they will be greeted with a message explaining that they cannot rest at that moment.
