Move[edit]

I propose this page be moved and be turned into a disambiguation page that links to this article (moved to another location, of course) and to the book that was added in Skyrim (in Lore namespace). -- kertaw48 17:49, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

They are about the same subject though, if that means anything? --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 18:08, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
But... one is an in-game book and the other is a lore event. I suppose it could also be handled like the article about Sithis, but then a notice should be added to this article. -- kertaw48 18:42, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
Book has been added at Night of Tears (book). --NepheleTalk 17:23, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Moved Content[edit]

"The main reason was because the Nords had an incredible power stored in Saarthal (The Eye Of Magnus) and the Snow Elves (or Falmer) wished to gain that power."

I've removed this from the page until verification can be provided and the sentence rewritten. --Legoless 17:39, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Article Image[edit]

Would an image of the Eye of Magnus within Saarthal not be more relevant to the article? While the missions for the College of Winterhold are speculated at using information on the Night of Tears the college isn't really relevant to the actual events of the Night of Tears itself. Just seems like the image of the eye inside Saarthal would make more sense since that's (likely) what the Snow Elves were trying to capture or destroy. -- Haravikk (talk) 11:31, 11 November 2012 (GMT)

Which Elves are Which?[edit]

Does it say anywhere in the lore specifically which type of Elves were responsible for the Night of Tears? Everywhere I look as far as uninformed sources on the internet claim it was the Falmer, but I recall Gelebor claiming that the Snow Elves were innocent, and that it was either Aldmer or Altmer responsible for the genocide at Saarthal. Voraxith (talk) 07:32, 20 January 2013 (GMT)

There isn't any evidence to which elves did it. It was always assumed that it was the snow elves, as they were the ones that the nords blamed. Gelebor could just be mistaken in his assertion that the snow elves were innocent. We might never know. Jeancey (talk) 20:18, 10 April 2013 (GMT)

Archeological dig[edit]

There is an imperial report of an archeological dig made in Saarthal that claims the attack was focused. Information from that book isn't used in this article and should be added.— Unsigned comment by 82.73.72.148 (talk) at 11:12 on 6 April 2013

I'll look into it. Jeancey (talk) 20:18, 10 April 2013 (GMT)
