Mor Khazgur was founded some time in the Merethic Era, but has since then been destroyed and rebuilt repeatedly. During the Second Era it was a large stone fortress with many buildings, and had a statue of Malacath at its center. However, the stronghold became the center of many conflicts during the Second Era.[UOL 1] By 2E 583 the Orcs had abandoned Mor Khazgur, and the Circle of Champions had turned the fortress into a battleground where they organized gladiator battles to the death, to which fighters from all over Tamriel came to fight for glory.
In time the Orcs returned to Mor Khazgur—but it would apparently continue its cycle of being destroyed and rebuilt. By 4E 201 Mor Khazgur had become a small isolated stronghold, with one longhouse and an Orichalcum mine.
