Welcome[edit]

Hello! Welcome to the wiki. I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. You might want to look at our Getting Started page for some tips on how to begin, then play in our Sandbox for a while to practice. If you need any help or advice, please ask one of our mentors. Enjoy! --Mr. Oblivion(T-C) 21:34, 20 June 2009 (EDT)

Word of Advice[edit]

Hi there. It looks like you've had fun editing the site but please can I ask that you use the "Show preview" button when making changes? At the moment you're making dozens of consecutive edits to pages, each of which must be patrolled. It would make life much easier for those of us who do the job if you could preview your edits first. Thanks. --Tabloes 00:22, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm....[edit]

Well it seems to have not worked, I am very new so I was wondering how to create a page?Aba la 00:32, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

You need to enter the page name you want for your sandbox and the user namespace in the search box on the left hand side of your screen (so all of your sandboxes should be named something like this: User:Aba la/<sandbox name>, but take out the <> brackets. So an actual Sandbox for you might be User:Aba la/Sandbox1). When you hit go, you'll be taken to a page that informs you that the article name you have entered does not exist and gives you some options. Choose "Start the User:<your name here>/<sandbox name here> page". This will take you to a blank page in which you can add whatever you'd like so long as it conforms to the rules of the wiki (no offensive content, no copyright violations etc.) Once you save your sandbox, the site also automaticaly creates a breadcrumb link back to your user page in the upper left corner of the page. Sandboxes are still patrolled to ensure they follow the rules of the site, and they still appear on the recent changes page, so try to refrain from indiscriminate editing of your Sandboxes to help out our Patrollers. I hope this helps. -Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 01:11, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
As Dlarsh said, your sandbox name must start with "User:Aba la" so that it is clear to everyone that it is your user sandbox, and so that readers don't accidentally pull up the page and think it's a real article. Therefore, I moved the page you created to a more appropriate name, namely User:Aba la/Ffsandbox.
You might also want to try reading our help pages, for example the article on Starting New Pages, to learn how to do things on the wiki. --NepheleTalk 01:24, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Thank you for your help Dlarsh. Now let the page creation begin! Aba la 01:22, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

No problem, just remember to add User:Aba la/ before the name of any new sandboxes or they'll be created in the Oblivion namespace and will have to be moved. Enjoy :). -Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 01:25, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
