Llavane Arenim

Llavane Arenim is a Dark Elf savant and Kinsman of Great House Indoril. She can be found in Arenim manor which can be reached by stairs leading from the upper terrace of The Laughing Goblin. This odd route may be a remnant from a certain stage of development where the Arenim family was noted to own the tavern. While, as it stands, that place is actually in possession of Telera Parys. Regardless, unlike the other nobility in Akamora, the Arenim consider themselves 'above everyday commerce' and do not own an egg mine. Llavane plays a major role in Caught in a Web as Surol Volayn's adoptive mother.

She wears extravagant clothing (robe, skirt and shoes) along with an exquisite shirt. In combat she will fight with a steel tanto. Aside from her natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by her ancestors, she knows no spells.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Greetings:
    • "Our precious Surol is dead, and you are the one to blame. Three curses upon you, you demon."
    • "Our Surol is safe, thanks to you. I'm sure she'll come visit soon."
    • "You've found our Surol? She's alright? Oh, what marvelous news! You should let your guildmaster know of this, %PCName."
    • "Please... Will you find our precious Surol?"
  • Surol:
    • "How dare you speak her name after what you did?"
    • "Thank you for finding her, %PCName."
    • "You found her in a shrine? In a vale hidden in the Mephalains? Did you speak to her? Please, %PCName, don't let us wait for our Surol."
    • "Follow the map. Find the Valley and this "Shambalu", and bring back our dear foster child."
    • "What's this? You found a map. Yes, it does look like it was drawn by Surol. Can you read the Daedric markings on it? The map seems to sketch a route south-to-north from Akamora to a place called "Shambalu" in the "Valley of Mephala"."
    • "You found a map? Where is it?"
    • "Search her room. Something might pop out that could give you a hint where she was heading."
    • "Our precious Surol usually never stays out this long without coming back home. My husband and I fear that someone or something has taken her when she was wandering in the mountains. But we don't know where exactly she was during her disappearance. Surol has always been so secretive about it... Search her room. The door is open. Something might pop out that could give you a hint where she was heading."
    • "We found her all alone in the mountains when she was but a little child. Her parents had been slaughtered by some vile creature lurking there, so we took her in. Now she's like a daughter to us."
  • Valley of Mephala:
    • "I have heard of this Valley of Mephala before, but I always took it for no more than a myth... yet Surol must have known better. Return to that shrine, %PCName, and bring her back!"
    • "Follow the map. Find the Valley and this "Shambalu", and bring back our dear foster child."
    • "I have heard of this Valley of Mephala before, but I always took it for no more than a myth... Surol must've been heading there. Yes! I'm positive she's got to be there. Go now, %PCName. Follow the map. Find the Valley and this "Shambalu", and bring back our dear foster child."

Notes[edit]

  • As a savant Llavane provides detailed information on a variety of topics, including several towns. Sadly, the towns she talks about are located on Vvardenfell instead of the mainland where she lives. This is probably unintentional.
