Gwynern

Gwynern is a High Elf witch and Spellwright of House Telvanni who can be found near the entrance to the market of Gah Sadrith. She is fairly knowledgeable about Bonewalkers and Golems, although she is at pains to emphasize that her interest is purely scholarly.

She wears an expensive robe and a pair of chitin boots. She wields an Iron Spider Dagger, and carries an Exclusive Potion of Shadow, 2 Standard Fortify Magicka Potions, and 25 gold.

Aside from her natural weaknesses to fire, frost, shock and magicka, her natural bonus to magicka, and resistance to disease, she knows the following spells: Absorb Intelligence, Absorb Speed, Absorb Willpower, Alad's Caliginy, Commanding Touch, Crushing Burden Touch, Dire Noise, Far Silence, Hide, Invisibility, Medusa's Gaze, Reflect, Strong Levitate, Summon Greater Bonewalker, Summon Least Bonewalker, Summon Scamp, Summon Skeletal Minion, Tinur's Hoptoad, and Weak Spelldrinker.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Background:
"I'm %Name. I came here to learn more about the magical arts of the Dark Elves. Telvanni accomplishments in the field of corporeal reanimation are truly fascinating. No matter what the locals say about them, these Bonewalkers are quite unique pieces of necromancy, nothing like you see in the West. And have you seen Mistress Eldale's Golem? Magnificent! [Looks suspiciously around.] Anyway, my interest is purely scholarly, you understand..."
  • Bonewalkers:
"Bonewalkers are animated corpses, their structure reinforced with more bones taken from other dead. They are unique to Morrowind and considered an equivalent of the zombies; however they are much more fast and dangerous than zombies. The Dunmer summon their ancestor spirits to inflesh into bonewalkers, that is why they don't consider summoning Bonewalkers to be a necromancy. It also gives bonewalkers magical powers, and the greater bonewalkers possess a much-feared ability to damage their foes' strength."
  • Golem:
"In fact, any piece of matter animated by a conjurer is a Golem, be it a clay pot or a broom. However it is usual to give Golems humanoid forms, so that they could serve their masters more efficiently. Also most common materials to create Golems are wood, mud, clay, bones, marble, or metals and precious stones if one can afford it. Unlike dwemer robots, Golems are not animated by inner mechanical devices, but by magical patterns inserted into them by their creator."
  • latest rumors:
"I have heard Mehrunes Dagon cultists are gathering somewhere in the Telvanni Isles."
  • my trade:
"I am a scholar, you understand? My interest in Daedra and the undead is purely academical."
