Tamriel Data:Spell Books

Tamriel Data adds a variety of spell books to the game. This is for the most part a new feature in the game, as there is only one spell book without mods and it does not have message prompts as described below.

Much like skill books, spell books teach you a new spell the first time you read them, which is unique to that book. In order to learn the spell, the reader must have a high enough Intelligence; the minimum depends on the book and can be as low as 40 or as high as 90. For readers with an Intelligence too low by no more than 10 points, you are prompted with the message, "There is a spell to be learned from this book, but you cannot decipher it." For even lower Intelligence, no message appears.

Note that Folly of Steel and How to Break in a Set of Armor both teach the same spell. The Peryiton is unusual in that each of its volumes has two versions and both can teach the same spell. Volumes I and V are the only spell books that are not found anywhere and so the spells they teach are normally not obtainable.
